I was at Freshboys last night and I saw Atlas was closed when I walked past.

I don't know if it's closed on Mondays or permanently closed.

Nope, nothing to indicate why they are closed. The first poster is to recruit staff, which they needed urgently and in large numbers. I'm guessing it was put up sometime ago. I thought there might've been a governmental notice indicating a breach of regulations or something along those lines but there was nothing of that sort.

I suppose the easiest way to find out is to text a guy who works there, a guy who knows someone who works there, a Tawan guy or guys who work in the vicinity of Atlas. They're bound to know.

As a favour to vinapu - who am I to deny a man's dying wish - I've sent a text message in Thai to their Line account. Let's see if they reply. 🤞

Nope. Closed today Tuesday night. Maybe they decided to have off days on certain weeknights

Sorry, vinapu, it's almost been 24 hours and none of the messages I sent them on various social media have been read or replied to.

So, having just spoken to one of the captains at Atlas, he tells me that the bar has permanently closed at the Patpong 2 location but will reopen on Soi 6 "in two weeks". They are currently fitting-out the new premises which will be towards the Silom Soi 6 end where all the massage parlours are located, rather than on the Soi Tarntawan end. In the meantime, many of the boys who worked at Atlas are to be found at the new Than Tawan bar (formerly Tawan). Apparently, there are now about thirty guys at Than Tawan. 

The main reason for the move was the very high rent at the old location. The new place will still be "owned" by Arthur (although Atlas has always, in fact, been funded by his foreign patron). Given that it is Thailand, though, I would not hold my breath for the new venue to open on schedule. Indeed, let's see if it actually come to pass.

As an aside, I note that the flyer for Atlas posted on its door steals images from the now defunct New Twilight Bar that was a few doors down from the Golden Cock.

thank you for the good news , hope they materialize , even with delay . Wonder which location in soi 6 it will be but it should be clear soon.

All helpful and interesting information. Who wins the prize for spotting which premises on Soi 6 are/will be undergoing conversion.....?

As DoA suggests, "undergoing refurbishment" or "opening in new premises" can often be a face saving communication.

my spy on the ground confirmed that indeed there's some renovation going one in one of the shops at Silom end of soi 6 so thigs are looking bit brighter for Atlas now.

Was sad to see yesterday evening all atlas branding was already taken down from te building. Hope they have a good future in Soi 6. Information about many guys now moved to Tawan to work makes me feel maybe have to try out Tawan one more time...
