I am thinking about a beach getaway in late March and was wondering if there are any beaches in Thailand that have a gay scene (and good bars, restaurant, massage options) other than Pattaya and Phuket? If there aren’t any other options in Thailand, how about in other countries? Boracay in the Philippines is very gay (although not officially) and there is a lot of gay activity on Bali, but I’m trying to think of ideas that are out of the ordinary. I am confused. All the publicity over four o/clock closures in tourist/entertainment areas from the 15th of December. Well, no sign of it in Silom, soi4. The bar owners tell me that the late closing only applies to those establishments that hold an 'entertainment licence' and that in Soi 4, only Banana has one (from it's Tapas days years ago) . This is what the B.I.B. tell them anyway. This wasn't the impression given with all the publicity and protests early in December. What is the situation in other areas?

On my first night in Bangkok this week, I went to Foodland to try the venerable cashew chicken as raved about by @vinapu. Only when the dish was served did I realize that this vinapu venerated concoction contained not a single cashew. Not one. Has Mr. Vinapu been joshing? I asked for assistance and an employee came to the table and couldn't figure out the problem. So I told him very simply "There are no cashews in the cashew chicken!" The remedy was to bring me a small bowl of cashews, but as chicken cashew lovers would attest, they taste much better when cooked in the dish. My rating of Foodland's cashew chicken...a 2!
