I am planning a holiday to Koh Chang Island because of its reputation of unspoiled beauty...is there any gay life at all there? I am not looking for go go bars....but it would be nice to know if a friendly thai boy could be a companion and guide for a week

While I do enjoy rainy season and it has it benefits to being in Thailand when the masses of tourists are not here, some days I get tired of the rain. How long does this last? Attention American Citizens: The Thai Immigration Bureau recently announced a change in Visa Regulations that is scheduled to go into effect on October 1, 2006. This change will affect citizens of 39 countries, including American citizens, who are exempt from obtaining a Thai visa prior to entering Thailand. The coup leaders have banned gatherings, which I presume means meetings and demonstrations, of five or more people for the time being. What does that mean for "farang?" I'm not writing this in jest. I really don't know whether that means meetings such as Thais For Life, Ex-Pat Club, PGF, etc. are now banned. Am I misinterpreting the meaning of the ban? Does this ban include such types of 'gatherings?' I don't even know yet how to find out.
