I went to Pattaya Northern Bus Station on Pattaya Nua today and spoke with the office of Bell Travel Services Co Ltd who are running this service under license from the Government. Relief is just a toilet boat away The Royal Irrigation Department said today it will provide flood victims on the suburban Bangkok island of Koh Kret with two toilet boats starting tomorrow. Agriculture and Cooperatives Deputy Minister Rungreung Isarangkul Na Ayutthaya will personally take the boats up to the Nonthaburi province island, which has been inundated with Chao Phraya River flooding for the past week. About a week ago someone was asking about a good tailor...(sorry,but I tend to stay away from the Indian shops-too pushy for me). There is a great tailor who takes his work seriously since his life is fashion design and has taken classes in Bangkok. Today I was at the road traffic department office by the Regent's school, and after doing my tax extension, I asked about renewing my driving licence for a motorcycle. Apart from usual copies of passport, old Thai driving licence and 2 photos from a POLOROID camera (which can be done across the road from the entrance), you need a letter from immigration about your address, but now no doctor's certificate. Also to get the 5 year renewal it must be done on the date of expiry or after. A friend arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport two nights ago. He said his airplane parked at the gate at 1:10 AM and he had retrieved his luggage, cleared customs, and was out of the airport by 1:50 AM. He was in Pattaya by and in his hotel room by 3:30 AM. He said that he had no problems at all. He said clearing customs was far more quick and easy than he had ever experienced at Don Muang and was quite satisfied with the new airport. Last night I went to a club for some music. I found a very sexy waiter and enjoyed his company. He also enjoyed having me near him. A good friend sent me the following in an E-mail today: __________ I just finished renewing my retirement visa this afternoon and I can report that this is even easier than before! As reported in Pattaya Today and Thaivisa.com, they are no longer requiring a medical certificate for renewal. I used the letter from the US embassy for proof of income and as before, they accepted a copy of the (three year old) letter, but they did want to see the original. A few changes: they now take a digital picture of you (in addition to the photo you provide) and the visa stamp in your passport has a block that says "RETIREMENT". All and all a piece of cake!

I know many here don't think it a good idea to ride a motorcycle. I love riding mine and find it the best way to get around in Pattaya. However, I am often shocked when I see tiny babies on the bikes. I wonder how many accidents occur. It just blows my mind to see Dad driving Mom while she is holding little Pan in between them. Are there no laws here that forbid this?
