I was in Pattaya for 3 nights / 4 days late April (first time back in over 16 months after I swore I would not return) and found the change very obvious after some time away
Boyztown
Toyboys - still same polite / good management but too many of the older Laos / Khmer boys still clinging on there, was steadily busy (a good bar still) but badly needs some new blood I felt, couple of the newer Khmer boys were very easy on the eye though
Cupidol - definitely the most fun bar & boys in Boyztown for me, only bar I offed a couple from but one of them I'd know already for 2 years, but fairly weak management
BoyzBoyzBoyz - walked inside, decided not to stop...boys in jeans and not a lot going on
Dreamboys - plenty of boys on stage but felt a lot more str8 than past years, less gay boys that my gaydar could discern...but had a fun couple of drinks in there and my off from Cupidol asked to go in to say hello to a Khmer pal
X-Boys - lord....still trotting out the old WWB style shows, poor mama who's known me for year assured me there were a couple of guys I would like so I nursed my G&T and grimly hung on thru the decades old candle wax shows etc...when said boys did appear I felt no stirrings in my boxer briefs and so politely departed after dispensing a few tips

Only made it to here one night and had a couple of drinks in Sun bar with 3 guys I knew which was funny, seemed to be more people around that in BT but still very quiet on previous years...but that's low season.
Went to morlam one night and was still fun but so damn hot to be drinking beer outside in an open field
However I DID still have a fun 3 days there as met up with 2 Thai, 2 Khmers, 1 Laos & 1 Myanmar in the time (2 of those were bar offs)....but most of them were working other jobs now and I've know for a few years (catching up after time away is always pleasant)...there's still fun to be had just not as much in the bars these days.

Private hospitals ordered to display medicine prices
Starting next week, private hospitals must display the prices of medicines so that consumers can make better-informed decisions prior to purchase, the government said on Friday.
As well, private hospitals must give patients the opportunity to buy medicines from pharmacies outside the hospital using prescriptions provided by their doctors.
Acting Commerce Minister Chutima Bunyapraphasara made the comment after chairing a meeting of the Central Committee on Prices of Goods and Services, which approved the proposals on Friday.
“Prices of medicines must be shown either on the hospital’s website or via QR codes on a chart displayed clearly at the hospital,” she said.

I've used the SR airport locations a few times in past and the rate rate was good. I only exchanged enough cash to get me through the first night. When I get off the flight, I'm exhausted and just want to get to the hotel. Not a good frame of mind to do a big exchange and then board a crowded train.
I try to follow the advice of ggobkk above: take whatever Thai notes I have left at trip's end home with me so I don't have to stop before getting train or taxi on my next arrival.

The bars don't get it for me anymore.  In pattaya, I visited bbb only once and once was enough.  I use to love going there but now with the guys in jeans, why bother?  They show more skin on the apps.
Bangkok, I went to tawan but not by choice.  Jupiter was charging 500 baht entry and as it turns out I didn't enter any of the gogo bars after tawan.  And the show at tawan...  It was like watching a veteran tuktuk driver have sex with his fat older cousin.

Finally, after walking past it a couple of times I remember the third hotel I had in mind when posting about those new options. It is called "Resort M BTS Chong Nonsi". It is directly next to the MahaNakon building, in the very small narrow soi bewtween immediately to the left of the MahaNakon,  between MahaNakon and The Infinity It's no more than 100m from the BTS station. VERY cheap indeed, less than 1000B. Though being very small it even have a small pool between the two wings (hence the name "resort" I suppose). Looks look modern and nice in the pics, though it seems some have no wondoew (not sure). This might be another great value option for esteemed hotel-hopper @vinapu
 
Nope, alive and kicking. Drove past the other day and made a point of looking, as I was also looking for the hostel there,  Minimis fromerly Thrive, sionce someone asked about that. That one is being demolished as part of the Twilight redevelopment, but not BBB.
 
true and annoying. A way around that is searching for a hotel in google maps rather than the regular google. The hotel description there will have address, phone number and other info, AND a link to the hotel's own website (if they have one, sometimes for some businesses it's a link to their facebook page, but same thing if that's all they have)
 
Note the difference in amenities: laundry SERVICE vs laundry FACILITIES. The former should be obvious what it is, the latter can be ambiguous.
 
I'm the exact opposite haha. NEVER eaten any of the snacks, but sometimes had a coke or something from the fridge when there was an urgent need. Always paid for that, though, never even occurred to me to replace it from outside lol.
 
Haha, I have actually taken remains of small bars of soap from hotels, which I do when staying at high end hotels and they have high quality soap rather than the cheapt shitty ones. And yes, I am entitled to those remains, as I already used it and it would otherwise land in the trash, wasted.
This reminds me of an annoying habit of a hotel in southern France I stay for about a week every year. They replace the soap bar after about a couple of days, when it's still like 95% intact (I only use bar soap to wash my hands, never to shower). Why they do that is a mystery to me and I find a competely unecessary waste. I do take the remains (if they leave me one towards the end of my stay) with me too, as it;s a nice olive oil soap. 
 
I went there to look at their rooms a year or two ago, scouting hotels for a friend. The whole place (apart from the nice lobby area) looked dark and old and tired inside and I would NEVER consider staying there.

I have been in and out of Luckyboys like the proverbial dog with two dicks all weekend and it's a lot of fun.  Did look like approx 50-60 guys working there last night (will check again tonight) 3 of my regular Viets work there inc 2 brothers I know well and they both had offs last night.  I offed a very cute Viet and had a great time too.
But it is a very big gogo bar with I'd imagine a serious overhead so as Paul wisely says let's see how it all goes in a few months when the novelty factor and newness has worn off.  Boys are happy and excited at the mo and so are we...but a place like that needs a lot of footfall to sustain it.  Already guys are moving between Luckyboys and Freshboys 2 looking for the best option.

Having missed my very first experience at Screw boys last year, I decided to go back there last night. It was Jason who brought me there last year. Thank you again Jason and I still miss you.
It was a Saturday night, and the club was fully packed to its maximum capacity. I got there around 11 pm and the show seemed to have just started. The room was completely filled with the smoke, but I decided to sacrifice some of my respiratory tract … the show was indeed quite long to my taste, including many lady boy performances, and one hard core performance between two young lads. The mamasans there did not pressure me at all, left me alone, but available when in need. I especially liked the one with more manly look in specs. According to mamasan, there were quite a lot of Vietnamese guys at their club (maybe it has become universal).. I spent almost 90 minutes inside the club under the smoke.
After I got back to my hotel, my previous night boy from LuckyBoys messaged me and asked me if I wanted to meet. So, I went out again to Foodland, took out some food for him. and he came to Foodland, and we came back to my hotel room together.
He left my hotel around 5 am this morning...
I have seen many interesting characters and events on this trip. It's very eye opening to me. Looking forward to more.

Just to be clear - at Arena the minimum tip includes just what they say:  massage with masseur naked, HJ & showering together; however, the masseurs there are available for more, you just have to agree to pay them more.  For full services (sucking/fucking) the cost ends up being roughly the same as any of the other big shops.  It's like a no-frill airline.  If you want more pay.
For me, if I'm tired, bored, whatever - sometimes a simple HJ is the perfect end to the massage.  Other times, and depending on the guy involved, of course more acrobatic activities are involved.  
Sometimes at a place like Prime where the normal rule is no hanky-panky so I'm not really expecting anything anyway, if the masseur says he wants to give me a HJ, I'll even politely decline.  (!). It's just how I feel and what I'm looking for from each experience.

I second  it, not two but twenty two times I tried Arena I left with smile . Not much ambiance but boys there have muscles , smiles ,no attitude and deliver, even mamasan Art seems to be nice and used to give good massage, I know, I tried.
I agree with DivineMadman, there's serious management problem at Prince with all that mishaps reported here recently. I wish them all the best but perhpas we should give  a chance to other places specially that Prince is not competing on price

did a quick survey of the new patpong twilight. Starting from Silom, going through Patpong 1 and saw chillout boys (empty), and Sweet Banana (a handful of boys on stage, no or almost no customers, kinda pushy door people). Didn't see Superboys.
 
Went to the old Twilight to have a quick glance, no fully boarded up, including Hotmale which still looked open a few days ago when driving past. A quick sidetrip to Soi Wallstreet revealed a closed G Boy bar. Then on to Patpong 2. Had a drink at New Hotmale beer bar with one of the waiters who likes me. Was kinda hoping to find @paulsf there, but didn't. Couldn't look inside the bar as they collected admission fee of 350 outside. 
On to Dreamboy P., they even said "can look first", so that's what I did. Told one of mamasan's (in Thai) that I was there only for a quick look at all the new establishments and would come back another day for show etc. No issue with that, friendly chat. DBP looked rather small to me. Many shirtless guys outside the bar, none of them really my type lol.
Next stop Lucky Boys. Suprised how large it is. Looks fancy, too. Mamasans did seem pushy trying to escort me to a seat. I just stopped before entering the actual bar area, had a look around, a boy massaged my neck from a seat above lol. On the way out spotted an unusual looking boy in the dressing room. Unusual because he had VERY dark skin and facial features were somewhat reminiscent of an Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi guy (not normally my cup of the, but he was cute with lively eyes) We made eye contact and I asked him where he was from. Laos. Kinda surprising given the looks. Told him I'd come back another day (which I am indeed planning to do). Number 42. 
On the way home passed Soi 4 and saw the new Banana Boys but didn't go in. All in all, as Michael said in the other thread, things are alive and kicking indeed. 

This afternoon, I went to Prince massage as per recommendations by some members here.. it was my third massage shop experience. the first one was my Hero and second Ganymede. for the record, I also had a few outcall massage sessions from other places too such as Dm Spa and Sanctuary spa.. I don't have much experience to compare, but I was impressed by the size of Prince massage .. the premise looked nice and clean.. it was about 3:30 pm when I got there, quite a few customers in the lobby, all being Asian.. I thought it is an exclusive man to man massage spa, but why i saw a couple female asian guests too???
A cute mamasan showed me their menu.. when I asked about the boy whose pictures were sent to me through their Line just a few minutes prior to my arrival, mamasan said he just went into the room with a customer for an hour session. he said I could wait, I would choose 90 minutes oil (1800 baht for a room with a private bathroom attached), and minimum tip for the mentioned course would be 1500 baht. so I decided to wait for the boy for the above course.. I went to use their restroom and when I came back to the lobby, a waiter served me a glass of thai ice tea (?). I was sitting in their lobby, and after a few minutes, a different mamasan who just arrived, came to me and asked me if I was waiting for someone. when I mentioned my agreed plan to him, he said "for 6 o'clock?". I replied, "no, once the boy comes out, now". he nodded his head, and left me alone.. A few minutes later, the first mamasan came back to me, and said there were some other customers waiting for the boy ahead of me. there you go again! maybe I didn't understand him accurately, but it was something like "no good for the boy. many customers waiting now".  I showed him the messages just exchanged between their line account and mine while I was on my way on a grab, with the expectation for a better understanding of what just happened after that second mamasan arrived. he said something, but I gave up trying to get a reasonable explanation. so I tried to look for a plan B. there were a few other good looking muscular boys stand by behind the glass, but most of them were not interesting to me.. so i inquired mamasan about possibility of having the boy for an outcall session .. he said it would be 1000 baht to the shop and 2500 baht as a minimum tip to the boy. I agreed, he gave me his line account and he said he would ask the boy and get back to me.. I gave him a small tip and left the place.
Let's wait and see if it would really happen. but I have been prepared enough, so there will be no frustration or surprise anymore.. now I think I understand what it meant by "this is Thailand".

In my opinion, you were short changed on time to consider an off at Lucky Boys.  Even if the mamasan had transferred the boy to you from another table.  The mamasan would not have done that if a commitment had already been made by anyone at the other table.  
I share Vinapu's option of signaling the boy myself.  They have their eyes on the room and will quickly move to your side.  Now, my comments are based on multiple experiences up to last November.  Things may have changed since then...Moonlight is a bit more restrictive as they have their stars with higher priced options and the other boys off the stageo sit off to the side, 
At Twilight's HotMale, where I was (am?) friendly with two of the mamasans, I've locked onto a boy who was sitting with someone, the mamasans told me to wait and see if my choice was offed.  If he wasn't then he'd be brought over.  In Jupiter, I've both signaled a boy from the stage and asked a mamasan to laser light another.  In many years of going to the clubs, I've never been given a time limit to decide.
Note for historical record - at HotMale once I liked a boy but he was offed by the guy he was with...later, after we'd met, I knew the guy was offed by PaulSF...

The time you were allotted at LuckyBoys was way out of line. I think at least 10 minutes since you had already brought him a drink.
In the situation at Moonlight, where you're well known to the mamasans and other staff, you should have been cut more slack. Being a regular has to count for something. If not, there's no reason to develop relationships with mamasans there.

Was there last week [it's the only bar I'm allowed to go to], and as asnstudent reported, it's big and spacious, with a good number of boys. The boys are mostly twinks, but alot of them have a good mix of boyishness and muscle.

As arranged since last week, I went to pick up my babe boy around 11:30 at moonlight.. Mamasan was waiting for me outside the club (she called me while I was in the hotel elevator to make sure I was on my way).. she waved at me when she saw me walking into the lane .. I didn't have to enter the club, she said babe boy was ready.. while we were talking, he came out and greeted to me.. my heart was pounding fast and I could feel it as if it was up in my throat.. then he went inside again to collect his stuff.. I felt a bit awkward since two or three doormen were looking at us.. after a couple minutes, he came out again, with a backpack, and all set to go .. I gave the off fee (model off fee) plus tip to Mamasan .. he also was giving them (mamasan and doormen) tips..  I was so thrilled with joy that I was even ready to make the same mistake which I did with Nicky last year.. this time, it was not him, but myself who offered him if he wanted to go eat anything, like japanese .. but he said he just had "a buffet" and was full.. so we just crossed the road and went to my hotel right away..
after we got to my hotel, I showed him my collection of his pictures and video clips on pornhub and other porn sites.. we spent a few minutes warming up, watching his own video clips and chatting about his family and his girl friend.. he let me know his limits .. (but in reality he became more relaxed at the end, broke some of his rules for me).. as a self claimed straight guy, he didn't do much (yet).. in addition, he is a very shy boy, the most uptight among 3 models I have met from moonlight.. but he is the one with the most potential (after nicky) ..
He stayed with me for about 2 hours .. I asked him if he could stay overnight.. he said he has never stayed overnight with customers.. we hugged again and I noticed that he still had the hardon... he said he jerks off every morning … I paid his tip to him, kissed on his cheek, hugged his small, yet completely muscular body again.. he said "forget me" walking out of my room.. I said "I will come find you tomorrow again." we laughed together.. and he left.
Overall, it was a very satisfying experience to me .. he was quite shy (which I don't mind), but became more accommodating towards the end.. good enough to quench my curiosity. if someone asks me if I am willing to spend that much baht again for any model from moonlight, I would say yes and it will be for him.

After being busy with Mr. Model from moonlight on Saturday night, I went to Fresh Boys 2 on Sunday night.. Then to Lucky boys on Monday and Tuesday, two nights in a row.. I was thinking of writing a more descriptive review on Lucky Boys, but the site seemed to be down, so I was not able to blog on Monday --> Tuesday.. I just wrote a quick review on it on a different thread. Being a big fan of twinks with toned bodies, Lucky Boys kept me busy for the last two nights. I strongly recommend #60 of Lucky Boys if you are into small twinks with baby face and toned body.... I need to take it easy today since a much waited appointment with another Mr. Model is coming up tonight. I will keep you all posted...
On a different note, BKK heat is not compatible with life... so I don't have plan to fix my circadian rhythm.. sleeping in in the afternoons and up all night long.

Well they told me I was not gay and that I should stay with them and buy them drinks ! I didn’t mind really except I was trying to see what was going on at DBP and Lucky Boy, crowds, type of people going in etc.

I’m the other way around. I think to much planning and overthinking gets in the way of a fun evening.   So many times you think all day of the guy you will off, only to find he isn’t working tonight.     I’ll go out tonight and see what’s going on in FreshBoys, if nothing go over to LuckyBoys.   Many times you plan on a guy then get inside bar and see a hotter guy.    Nothing wrong with a little game plan, but don’t over think your evening.   Your here to have fun, leave your day planner back in your office.   

It needs a lot of planning, synchronization and other higher level management skills to optimally utilize our precious time here in BKK so that we could maximize the number of guys we can meet. It also depends on what kind of acts you have done for that given day and what kind of different acts you were still looking in the evenings etc.  
please dont even think that it is an easy task.

I counted 60 boys. But, the mamasan said 80. There was a full stage of guys with a ton of variety. That is the bar I chose a guy from and had a lovely time with him. 
PaulSF will have to give you more details as he planned the night for me and we hit 4 places. The goal for him was for me to see the bars but miss the shows as I don't really care for them and he planned things perfectly. I think the drinks were 350 baht per drink.  The bars were not packed but plenty of customers in each. LuckyBoys is huge. Screwboys is the same makeup as before and nothing changed. I was able to meet another poster from this lovely board last night that I have wanted to meet.  All in all, it was an excellent night. I am not often into the bar scene as I like massages and the like. But, I was very happy to see that the scene is still fun, enjoyable and lots to choose from.
