I just finished a 2 weeks trip in brazil, overall, it is a great trip.
(1) Lagoa in SP, not that great anymore. The house is packed on Friday and Saturday, not good on other days.
The owner has hiked the entry price for both garotos and clients by 15R, I heard a few garotos complain about this. And there is never a free cabin day.
Even though the house is full on Friday and Saturday, but there are very few garotos that are of great quality. Half long time veterans who have long past their prime days, the other half new comers are really just boys next door type, they will not catch my attention if they walk outside the sauna.  Greek god is something Logoa does not have anymore 
(2) 117 + 202, a lot of fun. I did not expect I can meet so many new guys in Rio this time. 117 is packed + packed on Tuesday, no place to sit. 202 is less packed on Wed, but still a great amount of new faces. And I have met 3-4 new guys in each sauna that I would like to keep seeing in the future. 

Yea, asking price is SP is 200 now, but majority of them still accepts 150

I'm on the plane heading back to London with 11 hours to kill so thought I'd use the time to share my thoughts on my first ever trip to Brasil. I hope it proves useful to someone who may soon be going for the first time, or anyone who cares to read it. Sorry if it's a bit long-winded but feel free to stop reading if you lose interest haha! For context I spent 5 days in SP and 4 days in Rio. Consider this trip an early 30th birthday present to myself lol.
Sao Paulo
Arriving in Guarulhous was straight-forward and without issue. Despite countless Taxi offers, I couldn't resist paying 4.40 reals for a train ticket to downtown Paulista. Plus the weather was great and I got to see the surroundings. FYI, the ticket offices for the metro only take cash or Brazilian debit cards. On average Brazilians are much better looking than your average westerner (no offence) and within an hour of landing I was already drooling over some heavenly specimens. l don't know if its the genes, the food, the weather, the mix of indingenous cultures or all of the above, but they"re clearly doing something right. Alot of Brazilians also seem to have very good teeth, both natural and veneers.
After checking in to my airbnb in Avenida Paulista, I took a shower and explored the local surroundings. In the sunshine Paulista Avenue really is a sight to behold. I'd made prior arrangements with a hunk from garotolocal, potentially risky I know, but along with all the positive reviews and the security measures at the Airbnb I decided to go for it. Despite not having any issues myself, I would recommend sticking to saunas initially until you have some trustworthy connections. A few Brazilians here told me about the potential risks of using sites, even trusted ones. If you must use sites, check reviews, instagram, only fans, etc for evidence of an online presence. I booked an airbnb that was ok with visitors so I would have no awkward issues. Being super paranoid, I also removed any potentially dangerous items out of sight - sharp cooking utensils, irons, broomsticks etc I would also recommend hiding your passport and other belongings or putting them in a safe if available. I also let the garoto know beforehand that the apartement has security and is full of cameras for both our protection just in case they try anything dodgy. Security out of the way,  Mr X arrives. Beautifully proportioned muscular frame with tanned caramel skin, arms and pecs bulging through his tight army tshirt. He was perfect for me as I'm into muscle but not overblown steroid-type muscle e.g. Simeon Panda or The Rock etc. He slowly removes his shirt to expose the perfect amount of chest fuzz before moving closer to touch me, what a sight to behold. I won't go into the nitty gritty but let's just say it was a good first night haha. To make it even better, he accepts card! FYI the Pound  GBP £ goes a veryyy long way here, I think it's around 6 reais to 1. And that's with the pound being weak at the minute. I would highly recommend Chase banking as they guarantee the mastercard rate of exchange on all card payments, as well as 1% cashback on all purchases, no withdrawal fees either although some Brazilian banks will charge you a small amount. Also FYI, if you're going to be 'passivo', make sure its clean down there as I've noticed a fair few Brazilian GPs have a habit of checking the condom after sex haha. Brazilians in general tend to be very clean and hygienic, the ones I came across at least. All of them to smell great and use mouthwash etc, especially if they smoke.
The next day after doing a few touristy bits, I decided to head to Lagoa. If you're a foody and enjoy the arts, culture, restaurants, bars, museums etc then you really cannot beat SP.  I enjoy sex but it wasn't the only reason for my visit to Brasil. Beyond Paulisita, SP is not the most aesthetically pleasing city but its full of charm and has something unique to do around every corner. I wouldn't have it any other way. Check out Ibirapuera park on a satuday morning/afternoon to see lots of white topless, hunky, sweaty middle-class brasilians going for a morning run lmao.
I was really nervous heading into Lagoa as I'd never been to any kind of sauna before and had no idea what to expect. I got changed into a towel and began to explore. At first it wasn't explicity obvious to me who was a GP and who wasn't (except for the guys stroking their dicks in a corner for all to see). Without trying to brag - I promise  - I am in pretty decent shape and was approached by guys who either thought I was a GP, or they knew I was a client like them but wanted to try their luck regardless. And to be fair, there were some sexy customers too! Next tip, as you probably know, learn some portuguese before you come here, at least the basics. Ideally, invest in a language course, I definitely will get some lessons before my next trip. I can't emphasise this enough, especially for emergencies as google translate may not always be available, nor will it always be safe to pull your phone out. English really does not cut it here in around 85% of situations. I am by no means fluent but I spent about 3 weeks beforehand learning the basics. I do speak French so this was a massive help in terms of vocab and sentence structure etc, lots of words are very similar. Knowing Spanish is better than knowing English, but again invest in learning portuguese. Plus, I get the vibe Brazilians don't really like it when you expect them to speak Spanish - so yeah, learn Portuguese. It will also make your experience 10x more enjoyable. In terms of Lagoa, due to previous posts on here I had lowered my expectations. However as it was my first time I had nothing to compare it to and went with an open mind. I was pleasantly surprised, there was a mix of everything from muscular brazilian jocks, to bodybuilders on steroids to athletic swimmer body guy next door types, to slim twinks. There really was something for everyone. If you're into pure muscle then it doesn't beat 117 in Rio (will discuss Rio in a separate post hopefully) but you'll still find a few decent studs here to make it worthwhile. I am quite shy and had no intention of approaching anyone. The best I could muster was a smile and an extended gaze when walking past someone hot. I got myself a drink and made my way upstairs and awkwardly sat in a small side area where some straight porn was playing on a big-screen TV. One or two average GPs approached but I politely declined. Then after about 15 minutes, I made eye contact with a stunning muscular beauty, dark brown maroon skin, about 6 ft 2, looks around 25 - 30 years old, abs with some fur that could literally grate cheese, beefy pecs that you could squeeze and kiss for eternity, perfectly proportioned arms - amazing. For me this was the peak of muscular beauty - not too steroidy - just right. My absolute limit would be Joao Humberto, the gogo dancer who frequents Lagoa, even though he is clearly juicing I still find him insanely sexy. After making eye contact with the guy and smiling, he smiles back and comes to sit next to me. He doesn't actually say anything initially for about 2 minutes. I work out that we're both quite shy. After a couple of minutes he speaks.... 'how are you doing?'... in English. Either he knows I'm a foreigner or he's overheard me speaking broken portuguese somewhere in the sauna lmao. We chat for around 5 minutes with a mix of basic english, portuguese and google translate. Then the moment of truth, he starts bouncing his bulging pecs and asks me if I like what I see. I was sold at this point and there was no going back. This guy is very smooth. Some Brazilians guys really are naturally very charming. He is top and asks for 200 reals. I agree without hesitation and we make our way to a room. Again I'll leave the nitty gritty to your imagination but lets just say he took my number and we had another a session the following day haha Brazil really is amazing! After the session he heads home as he has a fair way to go. I go back to the bar feeling a bit more relaxed. I'm approached by an athletic mixed guy, not my type at all but he's persistent and I'm happy to entertain his chat. Btw I am being deliberately vague as to the personal details of the guys purely out of respect and their discretion. Long story short, me and the guy end up chatting for about an hour like two old friends. We're of a similar age and have similar interests. He's actually straight and only does sauna work to help support his family. I tell him that we're buddies and a programa isn't going to happen but I give him some money to help him out with some personal things. We exchange numbers and he becomes my defacto tour guide of SP over the next few days. He even drives me to a (straight) whorehouse in downtown Republica, very seedy lol. Be very careful if you go to Republica in the evening, or even getting into cars of unknown people. I took a risk here. I hate labels but if we have to use one, you could call me bisexual. We both enjoy the same girl at the brothel for only 40 reais each. A cute carioca from Rio with a big bunda (ass)! Another word of caution, especially in the context of GPs both inside and outside the sauna, they will always have a sob story and will continue to beg for your financial aid. It did become really onerous (especially in Rio) so just be careful and don't let people take advantage of you. I had to block one or two GPs from Rio because the begging just got more and more ridiculous, not to mention rude. It was clear they were only interested in money. A part of me feels sorry for them as life is tough over there. I went to a friend's place in Ipanema and his living conditions honestly broke my heart. I believe he was paying alot per month for the luxury of a shoe-box room with a shared bathroom and toilet. Tbf the view of Ipanema beach was great. I'm told by Brazilians that the average monthtly salary in Brazil is around 1000 to 1500 reals for blue collar work, and around 3000 reals for a working professional. Lots of them seem to have side hustles to supplement their income. From a money perspective we in the west sometimes don't realise just how fortunate we are.  On the other hand, there is a correct way of asking for things - to be clear I have no issue helping out GPs in genuine need if it's done with respect and good grace - don't take the piss and try to take advantage of me. Any decent GP asking for money outside of their services will do so respectfully and is often embarrased to ask. They'll often say something like 'i'd appreciate anything you can help me with for X reason etc' 
 In terms of GPs, I made some amazing new connections/friends in Brazil but only a small minority of these are not underpinned by a financial dynamic.  Yes you can get free sex online, at bars, beaches etc but obviously its way more effort and is not guaranteed. Furthermore, I am told (by Brazilians) that Grindr in Brazil is becoming increasingly dangerous so again be careful using it.
The following day and another trip to Lagoa - after some more touristy stuff. This time I've got my GP buddy with me as a wingman haha. Obviously I will tip him lol. Today I take a seat in the bar and watch some football (soccer) on the big screen upstairs. Brazil's under 21s are playing. I nip downstairs quickly to check something in my locker when I see the most delicious slice of white Brazilian hunk known to man. About 6 ft 1, massive shoulders, pecs, arms, creamy white skin and big full juicy red nipples, no signs of steroid use, what more could you ask for? His face isn't the best in the world but for that body I honestly don't care. We make brief eye contact but he seems to be chatting to another client. For now, he is the only guy on my radar. It's about 9pm and a few minutes later I see him putting his clothes back on in the changing room, my heart sinks as I think he's leaving. I head back upstairs to meet my GP buddy who seems to be struggling for clients recently. I tell him about the GP downstairs and he jets off to try and help me out. A few minutes later, my buddy comes back with the white hunk who could rival Hercules himself, my heart is racing. 'Obrigao irmao' I whisper to my wingman and tip him 50Reals. Hercules pulls me to one side and begins to chat in portuguese, I do my best to understand him but google translator is definitely needed. After brief small talk, I ask him how much he wants. '300?' he replies. I was hoping for less but no way was I about to negociate with this hunk and risk losing him. I agree and we head off to a cabin. The sex is decent, not amazing but it  fulfills my fantasy of the hunky white personal trainer at the gym I've always wanted to bang. He's also a good kisser, as are all the Brazilian guys Ive been with, even the ones who are straight/Bi/top only etc. After a steamy session he tells me about his life and we discuss the gap between rich and poor in Brazil. He asks me if I'll be back tomorrow to which I reply 'yeah I should be' even though I was undecided at that point.
We bid each other farewell and he leaves Lagoa for the night. After my encounter with Hercules, My GP buddy comes back to greet me. I thank him again for helping me out and we have a chat about gogo boys. He says it is possible to get one if you know the right people and he seems to be confident he can arrange it for me if the specific gogo boy was at the sauna. Other GPs also told me that gogo dancers are available for programas if approached discreetly and in the right way, but it goes without saying you will pay more. I did try contacting one or two on instagram but they have so many followers it's tricky getting them to even see your message. Alas, my dream of bedding Joao Humberto or Lipe remains alive, hopefully next time now that I have my wingman and some new tips.
The following day, I'm all sexed out and I needed to get Ready for Rio. A GP/friend (a guy from a site i'd met a couple days ago for a quick session - yes risky I know) invited me to his place to smoke some weed in Vila Madalena. Under no circumstances would I ever suggest going back to a guy's place in Brazil unless you are 100% sure you know them well, especially in light of recent events at 117 in Rio. In hindsight this was probably a lapse of judgement but ironically this GP is now one of my few genuine friends where money doesn't dictate our relationship. He did have ID the first time I saw him and has a stable job, after sex we ended up speaking like old friends for hours. I trusted him somewhat then but now I trust him completely and we've made plans to travel to other parts of Brazil together next time. But I reiterate, under no circumstances should you go back to a guy's place unless you are 100% sure they can be trusted or you know them very well. It's just not worth taking the risk. Furthermore, make sure their building has security cameras and a concierge. I'm not really a smoker, but we had some weed at his place, some drinks and a bit of foreplay all before I headed off to the coach station to catch a bus to Rio!
Another word of caution, there are young guys on Avenida Paulista riding around on bicyles stealing phones, bags, hats etc. I saw it happen to a gringo right outside Mcdonalds so be sure to keep your valuables out of sight and secure. I used a fanny pack which works pretty well. If you really need to use your phone, e.g. to check on an uber etc - do it quickly and keep your wits about you, ideally go into a shop, restaurant, shopping area etc. If none of these are nearby then stand up against a wall so you have no blindspots. You will get into the habit of being careful with your phone in Brazil. It's such a contrast to London or other big western cities where you can safely be on your phone at every given moment in practically any given location. Most places take card but I would recommend having some cash to hand, especially because ATM/cash machines in SP are few and far between and they tend to close around 8pm (the ones inside the banks). Also most GPs only take Cash or PIX ( a Brazilian money transfer service which only Brasilians can use). Lastly, unless you want to destroy your Uber rating, don't slam the Uber doors lmao. The Ubers are also dirttt cheap out there.
To sum up, I had a blast in SP and will defo be back either this year or early next year God willing. I hope somebody finds this report useful, when I get some time I will try and do one for Rio. Currently waiting for a connecting flight to London in Lisboa, damn they have some seriously hot Portuguese immigration officers here haha.
 

I do not think that it is not respectful to Kadu to share what I learned since my first post. It will illustrate what TotallyOz mentionned above.
Kadu was Brazilian, almost real Carioca and pretty much aware of the risks. After his service in 117 on sunday, he went to an hotel in Lapa where he met a boy - certainly not a boy from 117. He was found the next morning robbed and killed. Police is investigating. 
Inviting a new boy from 117 to your place or - worse - going to his place is not always safe. From a reliable source I heard the story of a gringo going to a 117 boy's place in Ipanema and being almost thrown through the window in order to get his money and credit card codes ... 
Finally, I was in Copacabana for year end and I was amazed to see how much police was there. All groups of boys and girls likely coming from favelas were systematically searched by police. It is the same for Carnaval : lot of police.
When I was in Rio, there was a crime which was heavily commented, committed on a tour guide who was walking back to his place in Centro. He was killed by 2 girls on a motorbike. The whole scene was filmed by cameras.

Another wonderful trip to Brazil ended on a 202 Wednesday. My flight is at 10pm, so went early around 4pm, planning to leave before 7pm.
A pleasant surprise, my 2021 favorite B came in at 4:30. He gave me a hug and kiss then went upstairs. The boy is twink to a T. I loved my 2peat with him in 2021. our encounters in my 2022 trip was not as satisfying. The boy couldn’t suck or bottom nearly as good. But he looks just as adorable.

yeah, i get it, but im a trashy whore. Ive bonded with a few of the guys and stay in touch with many on social media, but im there to test ride as many new dicks as i can. THANK YOU, @macdaddifor all your tips. You have been the Supreme Advisor for my Medellin expedition, and you are doing it again for Bogotá. I should have thought of the tip on mate de coca. I knew that In Bolivia, Perú, and the northwest of Argentina the locals chew coca leaves to deal with the height's side effects. My brain just did not make the connection. Damn old damaged brain. The condition feels very mild right now, but as soon as I can get some mate de coca I will try it. Interestingly, I am hanging out with a group of Venezuelans and some of them are suffering soroche and did not even know what it is. Going back to my reporting, I had a delicious authentic Spanish diner (pernil de cordero con papas) and a great time chatting with JM and his Catalan partner. It was almost Nochebuena, and very few patrons were sitting. However, they were delivering tons of orders, I saw many paellas going out. At 6:30PM hey closed the restaurante, JM's partner and the employees left, and we stayed while he would close the books for the day. Once he finished his business duties, we step to the back and have a quick first time in the kitchen. Hot.
He is Venezuelan, 30 y.o., living in Bogotá for 6 years now, former soccer player and boxer. He does not have the hottest looks, but he is hotter than half of the men I have seen in Brazilian saunas. Although none of them like Chavism, they did not emigrate because of political reasons. They encouraged me to visit Caracas together with them, and I am definitely adding the city to my list. Soon after eating we all headed to Chapinero.
By the way, there is some kind of magic chemistry between me and Venezuelans. Everywhere I go, I end meeting and having great friendships with them. I shared about the Venezuelan I met in Buenos Aires a few years ago to become long term FWB, and about the boy I met last April in Medellin who I am still in friendly contact. And there are many others who were just short term relationships. The pattern is always the same: we hook up, we have grave sexual and friendship chemistry, and I discover that they are Venezuelans in the process (because of xenophobia, often they do not share their nationality). So we went to Chapinero. We checked a bar called El Perro y la Calandria, famous for the music and the musical videos, but very few people was there. So we moved to Leo's Bar. The place was full, with several rooms with different music styles and ambiences. We settled in the terrace so we could smoke (yes, I smoke tobacco when I am traveling). As they invited me for diner, I invited them with whatever they wanted to drink. They chose Absolute vodka ($COL 170K), and the bottle came with abundant ice, lemon juice, and two jars of orange juice a server would keep always full. All this extra were included in the bottle's price, apparently. I say "apparently", because JM seems to be very popular and know a lot of people everywhere, he may have gotten us special treatment.

The drag queen was not the prettiest, but her show was one of the best drag performances I have ever seen. Started with lips syncing, but not a regular musical hit as usual. Instead, she edited a sound track with many excerpts from countless songs and TV or movies dialogs. It was really hilarious and engaging. The best part came after her performance, though.
She called to the staged for two men and two women, got an extra male volunteer, and announced a competition. They had two minutes to dance and strip. The two volunteers with the less clothes after two minutes, were getting a bottle of I do not remember what. After that, she announced a new competition. The two patrons who dance with more passion and energy for 30 minutes, would get another bottle. The dance floor got immediately packed with dancers who started to perrear and dance as crazy. SO-MUCH-FUN.
Originally, we intended to go to El Theatron after the bars. However, my friends started to check their social medias and found out that only four rooms were opened, although a lot of fun seemed to be going on, and decided to finish the night earlier. At about 3, JM and I said goodbye to the friends and headed to my Airbnb to have a full session after our rushed quicky in the restaurante. He left at 7am, and I tried to continue sleeping. The music from El Theatron was loud and kept sounded almost until 10am.
On Sunday, about 10am, I quitted trying to sleep. I was with alcohol hangover, very tired, and with very few hours of sleeping. I walk out to get something to eat and the Chapinero I saw was unrecognizable. 90% of the shops were closed. I did not find anything appealing and returned to my building to check the food offerings in the complex, trying to avoid ordering through Rappi. Most of food stands were also closed, so I was forced to try a typical dish I had never heard of: cayeye. It was ok, but I do not think I will look for it again.
At noon I was calling an Uber to join my new friends in Parque Simón Bolívar. By the way, I tried Cabify (legal) and Uber, and despite not being legal the latter's service is better. The day was sunny, and beyond my soroche and hangover, we walked a lot. I forgot to bring sun block and right now I am red but not in pain. After the walking, we had a little picnic, and fun with the three dogs with us. The Park is huge and beautiful, and it was full of families and friends relaxing and enjoying the shiny day. I found remarkable that all the dogs around were unleashed and playing with each other and after hours I did not witness any incidents. 
Around 4pm the clouds started to look threatening. We decided to finish our outdoors day, and we made the right decision. Raining started when we were in our Uber. I did not have much time to get ready for the next plan. We all were going to play tejo, a game I had never tried before.
I was expecting a call from one of the friends around 6:30 to arrange the ride. When it was 7, I called JM to let her know that no one had called me. He shared that his friends changed their minds and were not joining. Instead, he was hanging out with his brother (27 y.o.) and his cousins. I told him that I should stay and let him enjoy his family. He responded "yo solamente quiero estar contigo". I could not say no.
I arrived to the Club de Tejo 76 and met his party. His brother with his wife, two cousins with their girlfriends, and one very young cousin who looked like a teen. Everyone else looked as in their 20s and very thughish and heterosexual. JM introduced me as his new boyfriend and they all were very friendly, especially JM's sister in law. We played and drunk. The establishment has a full bathroom in the front, where the bar is located. Besides, they have this caged sink that the players use to rinse the clay out of their hands and to pee. I could never pee there. The guy you can see in the picture is the teen cousin. We stayed up to 11pm, it was so interesting to hang out and make up with JM amidst this 100% straight environment. Not only straight, but also socially humble. Besides JM and myself, everyone else in our group seemed to be coming from quite humble and uneducated backgrounds. JM was paying all the bills. When my Uber arrived, JM gave me a passionate session of goodbye kissing in front of everyone, and I left totally exhausted and quite drunk (again). 
Today I got up at 7am, feeling rested but with a mild headache. I think I am declaring a day of resting and catching up with my blog network, and perhaps writing something for my blog. JM texted me at 10 am, definitely he is giving me the boyfriend treatment. Although I love the unexpected turn this trip is taking, I do want to stick to some of my original goals: having time to rest and write. Tomorrow I am planning an expedition downtown, probably focused on the Museo del Oro and the Museo Botero, and perhaps something else like a stroll around La Candelaria. Hopefully, at night I am meeting with an adult entertainer for an interview. You will know who afterward (sorry, again because of the trolls).
 
 

As often happens in my trips, the beginning was challenging but soon I started to enjoy the experience. I am loving Bogotá.
My two flights last Friday were unexpectedly on time and without incidents. I dodged the storm and its inconveniences. Trouble started when I walked out of the yellow taxi and found out that the address posted by my host in the Airbnb site was wrong. Fortunately, it was 4 pm and I speak the language, besides being quite obvious which one was the only building that could be my destination. This was the first time I seriously complained to an Airbnb's host. If I were a Gringo unable to speak Spanish and arriving at night, something bad could have happened.
The issues continued during checkin. My host did not send the email to authorize my entrance, and the code to open the lock box was missing. The Recepcionist was super friendly and fixed all this issues, but after almost no sleeping all these incidents did not set me in the right mood.
I am not happy with this Airbnb, although many of you would love it. There is so much security! It is a brand new building with a shopping center in the first two levels. The building is so new, that some of the pictures in Google Map show the construction site. Everything is trendy and modern, you do not need to walk out of to the streets if you do not want to, as there is even a 24 hrs OXXO supermarket in the complex. To move around and use the elevators, you need a magnetic card. I had no problem bringing a friend in who stayed overnight, but all my movements were monitored by CCTV and my entrances and exits watched by security guards. 
My unit is in the 15th floor, with a beautiful view of the mountains and even The Theatron.

It is a roomy studio divided in two sectors. One would be the living room/kitchen, including a closet with a washer/dryer and a 1/2 bathroom, the other one would be the bedroom, with a walking closet and a full bathroom. It does look great, but soon the disappointments started. I pooped in the 1/2 bathroom upon arrival and it took me a long time to flush my shit away, the water does not drain properly. The full bathroom does not have that issue, but the water does not drain properly in the lavatory. The shower looks amazing, but the water pressure is low.
Everything else is fine, I especially love the WiFi, faster than all my previous ones, even faster than my home wifi. But I found out other challenge that has nothing to do with the airbnb.
I felt tired and short of breath, and found out that I was probably suffering from soroche. I attempted a walk but returned to my base to lay down. Not only I was suffering from the height, but also the temperature. Never believe your Caribbean friends when they tell you that a place is cold. Bogotá is not cold. It is weird, though, the thermometer shows temperatures that I would consider cold in Washington DC or other places, but here it feels mildly cool. I was overdressed, and packed to many warm clothing. So far (I am starting the night of my day #3), all I needed to feel comfortable was two layers and no jacket.
On day one, when I returned to y base to rest after my failed attempt to walk, I got busy with Grindr and make a few interesting contacts. With one of them, I even arranged for a meeting that night. First, I wanted to explore Gigolo Hot House, it is a 10' walk from my nest. As I shared before, I found out the boys are on vacation (after walking on the wrong stripers club, my first straight strippers club experience ever), and returned to my base. That short walk left me exhausted, I cancelled my date and went to sleep. Day one was not good.

Our friend @tassojunior (are you there) has reported that the prices in Bogotá were higher than in Medellin, and the boys less attractive. My short adventure so far indicates otherwise. There are boys in Bogotá as hot as in Medellin, and the prices are lower.
At 5PM I arrive to the restaurant, a surprisingly nice Spanish cuisine establishment. My hook up is a partner and chef, the other owner is a Spaniard from Catalunya. The food was excellent and the chemistry with JM (lets call it that) was right.

(1) Lagoa in SP, not that great anymore. The house is packed on Friday and Saturday, not good on other days.
The owner has hiked the entry price for both garotos and clients by 15R, I heard a few garotos complain about this. And there is never a free cabin day.
Even though the house is full on Friday and Saturday, but there are very few garotos that are of great quality. Half long time veterans who have long past their prime days, the other half new comers are really just boys next door type, they will not catch my attention if they walk outside the sauna.  Greek god is something Logoa does not have anymore 
(2) 117 + 202, a lot of fun. I did not expect I can meet so many new guys in Rio this time. 117 is packed + packed on Tuesday, no place to sit. 202 is less packed on Wed, but still a great amount of new faces. On another trip into Rio now, have also been a digital nomad from here part of the time. Internet seems better than pre COVID.
When Bolsonaro lost the election in November, like Trump in the US, lots of lying and unlike the US, lots of street "issues", mostly shows of support more than any bad trouble. Tons of police followed to ensure the peace. 
During the World Cup (FIFA) Brazil matches the town seems to close during the actual match, even supermarkets and drug stores. Perhaps true country wide. When Brazil lost to Croatia, the town seemed to deflate, at least until the Argentina match an hour later !  So, I assume things will normalize here during matches again.
When given a chance, the locals are very nice. More than once I have miscounted my R$ bills and extra bills have always been returned. When dropping things out of torn supermarket bags, folks always let me know.
I do speak some PT and SP – it helps a great deal. However, I am in no way conversant in PT.
I meet several new people each day even if in a line or over a drink. Folks are very friendly here.
To allow anonymity, I will not mention names. I met someone who I believe has posted here. From far away. Super nice and speaks more PT than me. Suggested an apt vs hotel and to try staying someplace besides Copa. Great advice. Someone else suggested Leblon, and it is indeed much nicer than Copa. En francais, plus sympa et chic. Yes, it is more expensive. But in sheer Euros, Pounds (Europe’s new “Peso”), or Dollars, not a great increase in costs. Yes, less overall to do as well, but not many people sleeping on the street or begging either. The bars are more like in Europe, so yes, less authentic Brazilian.
On and off over the past weeks the Boys (GPs) and selection have varied greatly. I made mistakes by not asking for their contact info. That said, I do enjoy having different GPs each time. Busy times tend to be later than noted on some postings. Perhaps due to FIFA games. 1930 hrs has often been a good time. Best times I have noted: Tues at 177, Weds at 201/202, Fri at 117, usually good after FIFA matches or 1800-2100 hrs (when shows start).
Compared to prior trips (pre COVID) fewer younger guys on Grindr, Hunqz and such. The cdn.garotocomlocal.com.br website and telechapero website can help fill needs as well. I have not used them, but the GPs are very hot.
As for gay bars, there are several just to the west of the Arcos do Lapa.
Rua Riachuelo, Rock Experience (or similar name) has a gay night sometimes. A bit further NW on Ave. Mem de Sa are several gay bars (obvious walking by). After MN and perhaps best at 0200 hrs. I did not enter, as many hanging out outside the clubs seemed to be groups of friends and my PT is not that good.
In Copa to the south, is LaCueva, R Miguel Lemos 51. I had fun last Saturday night. Rumor has it there are some younger guys who like older guys there and at Rock Experience. I did not enter the latter. At La Cueva the age range was 50+ to old embalming fluid for most customers. There were a few guys perhaps 35-45 yrs old with their daddies. Not a pick up bar from my 1 night’s experience. I danced by myself to videos from the late 70s to 90s. Cover that night was 50R$ and included 2 drinks, not just crap beer. Fair price. Music was not too loud. Uber at 2am from Lapa to LaCueva was under 20 R$, and it is a long trip, 15 minutes I think. 
The Week (party club) occurs Saturday night, Sunday at 2-5 am in centro. I did not go. I am not 25 anymore and my 6 pack is long gone. But if I spoke better PT I might have gone.
In the daytime, there are 2 places for play. Cinelandia, in a back alley next to the RJ City Admin offices, R Alvaro Alvim, west side: one is called Sexy Rose and has cabins and some gay porn, plus dark room. Total mix of folks, young, old, BR and foreigners, etc. Trannies are rare. No pay for play that I ever noted.
Just to the south, about 2 doors down in the alley is a cinema showing straight porn. No obvious sign that I could tell. I find both to be enormously fun sometimes. You never know, but I have met folks for future stuff at the Rose more than once. If I hear footsteps behind me, I do turn and look the others in the eye, but not in a nasty way. I also keep to streets with others in them at night. No guarantee of safety though. Always have ATM issues abroad. Call your bank, etc before leaving on a trip to give a travel alert, always have more than 1 card on you and at least one left in your room. ATMs like at the M stations often have fees added. Some banks reimburse these costs. Some do not. My cards work only at some BR bank ATMs and not others. Always decline any attempt from the ATM or POS device for a currency conversion. In BR it will cost you 8-15% -  and for nothing – just a bank rip off.
When I go to 117 or 201/202, I always try to have over 500 in cash on me in case I get too horny. I often see punters paying the house bill by cc or debit card. Yes, the drink prices are not inexpensive. I often buy a drink for me and the GP before or after a programma. In BR always let a business know if your card is debit or credito in advance. Tapping the card reader almost always works. Yes, there often a conversion fee from your bank or cc company. It could be as low as 1%. Experience has taught me the best cards to use abroad.
Use lots of sunblock at the beach – better to be a bit un tanned than being burned !!
