The most popular of the clubs at the moment, the Gabanna Club features two bar areas, a showroom, and a dark-room cruising area upstairs.  Gets very crowded on weekends.

The featured shows are generally drag on Friday, Go-Go dancers on Saturday, and live sex shows on Sunday. These are usually interactive with a roster of performers.

Drinks are beer and shots (rum, whiskey) and soft drinks. The Crowd includes a wide range of ages and tastes—generally something for everyone. The dark room can get packed on the weekend, come prepared (and watch your wallet/phone).

City Club     Calle 8A  ##24-16, Cartagena

This large North American-style club above a popular salsa bar features two large rooms with a DJ playing club anthems and latin pop and reggaeton.  The entrance is just below the double balcony on Calle 8A (esquina Arsenal), diagonally across the street from the Convention Center entrance.

The crowd is a mix of foreign tourists, rent boys and locals looking for a big night out. Prices are very expensive by Colombian standards – drinks will run 10-20K COP each. Drug use is rampant and open in the club – the washrooms are closely patrolled.  Expect to be approached by the working boys present, many whom will happily show you shots of the goods on their phones.

Open weekends only (Thursday-Friday-Saturday) and Sundays when national holidays fall on Monday.  Cover charge depends on the event.


 
Avatar Disco Bar    59 Avenida Pedro de Heredia #30 (2do piso)

The locals flock to Avatar, locally known as Aventura, to drink cheap beer and rum, and dance the night away. This bar is comfortable room with plenty of tables and a dance floor above a Chinese restaurant off the main Pedro de Heredia just south of Carrera 59.

This is place where the locals hang out and listen to local music (salsa, bachata, vallenato, champeta, and some reggaeton) and socialize. The booze flows and you will have plenty of chances to mix with the locals for dancing and more. This bar goes late on weekends and gets packed as other places close around 2am.  


 
Olimpio Night Club    7 Avenida Pedro de Heredia (Urbanizacion Los Angeles – esquina Carrera 62)

Catering to the younger gay crowd, Olimpio is the place to see and been seen each weekend in gay Cartagena.  The club is two connected rooms in shocking pink décor with a DJ spinning latin pop and reggaeton each Thursday – Friday – Saturday night.  Expect a younger crowd looking to dance and socialize away the night.  

Drinks are higher priced here, hookah service available. Crowds arrive later – 11pm until 2am are the busiest hours.

Querida Bar

Calle 10 #43B – 61  Barrio El Poblado (one block west of Parque El Poblado)

Hours:  Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday  8pm – midnight

                Friday – Saturday   8pm – 4am

Climb the pink lit staircase of Querida and party with the young crowd of Paisa boys and girls (yup – attracts very young crowd) to Reggaeton, western Pop anthems, and crossover club hits.  The place is loud, crowded and filled to the rafters each weekend.   Special shows featuring a tribute to famous performers happen each weekend. Recent examples include Britney Spears,  Karol G, Cher and Bad Bunny. 

This is a classic Paisa rumba: beer, rum and aguardiente flow freely and dancing and cruising is the main focus of the night.  Weekends feature go-go boys (and girls) while other nights feature elaborate drag shows. 


 
Industry Club

Calle 26a  #43f-72  (sector Apujarra)

Everyone eventually ends up at Industry and everyone has an opinion. Some love this place, other loathe it. Industry is the last classic gay dance club still standing in Medellín, packing in the seen-and-be-seen crowd  each weekend. This is where you will see the best bodies in Medellín come to strip down and show off the results of many hours at the gym.

The crowd runs slightly older (25 – 40) as cover (25.000COP and up) and drink prices are higher than many other local options. Drinks run 12.000COP for beer, up to 180.000COP for whisky service. Drug use, mainly coke, is rampant and open throughout the club. Clutch your pearls as necessary.

The club contains two large dance rooms with different styles: the lower features reggaeton and classic Latin pop bangers, while the main room upstairs headlines electronic dance and club music. DJ’s are regularly featured in the main room. Go-go dancers and special shows are presented weekly. Check their Instagram page for weekly events.

While dancing is the ostensibly the main attraction, there is plenty of cruising and hooking up going on. The catwalk above the main dance floor is particularly active after 2am.  Part of the fun is the late-night crowd outside the club, hanging around for food truck eats and last-chance hook ups.


 
Purple Club

Avenida 33 #78-107 (barrio Belén)

Hours:  Friday – Saturday   10pm – 4 am

Purple is the reinvention of Laureles club Viva (RIP). This spot packs in the crowds each weekend for dancing and drag show, with the occasional special performer or stripper thrown in for good measure. Good range of age mixes here. Lots of varied programming, check their Instagram page for upcoming events.  

The Purple Club is mostly groups out together for a night out so the ambience is very social. You will talk to dozens of people here most nights. Drinks are pricier than other options (10.000COP for beer up to 80.000COP for bottled rum). Tables require bottle purchase and a minimum spend dependant on group size.  I have also heard complaints that solo patrons are often denied entry to the club so be forewarned.

After the nightly show, the club becomes a raging dance party until close. There is plenty of cruising, groping and making out happening after 1am, with lots of interest around the room.  


 
Club Oráculo

Carrera 36 #8A-123 (barrio El Poblado)

While technically advertised as a space for everyone, Oráculo, (known locally as ¡Oye! Culo) celebrates being queer with art and performances in a cozy dance space.  This is not a huge club, but rather something more intimate and interesting.  There are also two small rooms to chill out or just relax and chat away from the main room.

Weekly theme events include shows and performers that range from high-camp to erotic. There is a lot of thought put into each theme night that make for some terrific shows. Check their Instagram for upcoming events.  After the performance, the space becomes a club with pounding reggaeton hits that pack the dancefloor until late. Good mix of clubgoers, but this one definitely leans younger and very balanced male | female | non-binary ratios.

Drinks run standard El Poblado pricing, with an excellent selection of cocktails on the menu (cocktail prices 24.000-40.000COP).

The Sillón Rojo club is Medellín’s most active and popular sex club. While relatively small, the current location is a popular spot with many different types of men and the management team is very welcoming to new guests.

The club consists of two large rooms, connected by a small hallway. There is a change area just off the reception with lockers. Drinks (including alcohol), lube, condoms, poppers as well as clothing (jockstraps and harnesses) are available for sale at reception.  Across the hallway, you will find an elevated bed, an anonymous sex room with gloyholes and a fucking platform (butt exposed through hole to outside wall with leg harness), and finally in the backroom is the main sex room with a sling and platform bed. This is correct as of March 2023. The business has moved to a new location further west in Galeras barrio (very close to the football stadium). Calle 57 will take you directly from Chapinero to the closest corner. This is a high'traffic and safe walking route until late in the evening. About 20 minutes walking distance.

I will start by stating that this is not the official name of this location. It does not have an actual name, just a location operating out of a private home located in Chapinero, Bogota.
The club advertises on the major escort websites (Mileroticos, Skokka, GuiaGay Colombia, etc.) and has a website that does necessarily contain up-to-date images of the "service providers" on offer. URL is below.
The house is currently located in central Chapinero, Bogota on a residential street just east off the major artery Avenida Caracas (Cra. 13). It is easy to identify as it is the only “white” building on the street (all others are the common red brick found in Bogota).
To set up an appointment, you must contact the club via WhatsApp with a proposed time you will visit the club. The idea is that you will be shown the boys available during your visit, but the offer does not feel particularly curated. When booking, the response was consistently to message only when I was in Colombia and prepared to visit. I am certain that they deal with a high number of false requests, so be clear on your intent to visit and what time (hour) you will arrive. You can reserve a boy in advance or agree to the services you will purchase in advance. But you must agree to one of these conditions to advance to the next step of visiting the property.
The house is easy to locate and access is simple. Buzz from the gate and you will be admitted to the property. Someone will meet you at the front door. Once inside, you will confirm either your original selection and be escorted to a room. Or if you were confirmed for multiple partners -- threesomes (MMM & MFM on offer) and foursomes (MMMM only) on offer – then you will be able to review your selections and make substitutions as available, before heading to your room.
The facility is clean and comfortable and they do provide excellent service overall. Strippers are generally not the main theme in Colombian clubs.  Places like Gigolo House and Garage (both Bogotá) are stripper bars where the boys will do a single dance at the end of their stage obligation fully erect. Most then walk the audience offering up a feel for tips. Not sure if that fits the bill for what you want.
Many clubs and saunas in the larger cities will bring in a feature stripper to do a 20 -30 minute show during an event. Again, depending on the space, these shows can be completely vanilla or full audience interaction up to penetration -- just depends on the venue and what the stripper has actually been hired to do.
So I would suggest just asking around at any of the local gay bars you hit up. Colombia has a LOT of private gay events that feature entertainment far wilder than what you find in the local bars. I usually carry a small amount with me from home -- 500K COP is plenty to get you through a few days while getting set up.
Most of the major banks (Bancolombia, Banco de Bogota, Colpatria/Scotiabank, Davidivienda, BBVA) will work just fine with your US banking card. Do let your bank know that you are traveling in Colombia (including credit cards) as there remain many financial restrictions on Colombian transactions. I have had issues with Scotiabank transactions being rejected multiple times before I can withdraw cash so be aware.  Most will offer to do the transaction in COP or USD. Always choose COP as the currency - the exchange is designed to not favor the recipient and the US dollar exchange rate is noticeably higher. Most machines limit you to a maximum withdrawal of 700K COP.
Another local tip -- if you can find an ATM machine with Banco Agrario de Colombia (bright green machines) they always offer the best exchange rates and the highest limit on withdraw (up to 2MM COP).
