I have been staying at Hotel Vilar America in Chapinero multiple times. No issues with visitiors as long as they have ID on them to leave with the front desk. I am actually going back to Bogota next month.

Thanks for that, its appreciated...tbh think i'm going the AirBNB route now with a condo, but its good to know a decent hotel nearby in case i need a fallback.

  2. Hi there,

I'm heading off to Colombia in less than 2 weeks time, bit of a last minute booking after grabbing a direct flight from London to Bogota.

Any suggestions for current good hotels in the 'Chapinero' area which are Joiner friendly would be much welcomed please?  So far i've seen mentioned:-

    Holiday Inn express & suites

    Double Tree by Hilton

A few other suggestions would be great.

    Thank you

  3. Sorry guys but they do not ID check ALL farang...i go there every trip (sometimes several times a week) and i have never EVER been checked...i'm early 40's but usually get told i look younger (probably a lie), but every time i get to the metal detector (that never seems to do anything) and the little desk i just get waved thru, i am quite tall though and fairly well know in there so possibly just cause i'm a semi familiar face.  To be fair i usually have a few asian guys with me & they always get checked irrespective of their age 20 or 30 etc.

Worse case the lad gets turned away and he goes with his date to Jupiter to watch the show or something, no big deal really.

There is a forum member that posts now and then.  I won’t name him, but he’ll probably add to conversation when he sees this.
He takes guys from gogo’s to Khao San all the time.   They go and eat, drink and shop.   They have a great time.   I’ve never heard him make any negative comments or talk about being uncomfortable about the area.

Thank you...that would be me...Spicy i started off in the Khao San years ago when i very first came to Bangkok (probably over 22 years ago now)

I would say get a nice hotel in Silom / Sathorn...good tip if you want your chosen partner to over-night one with 2 rooms (bedroom plus living area is ideal)

Lucky-boys is a great place to start the night & drink in the scene imho plus you won't feel pressured due to the size of the club

DJ Station as others have said is definitely somewhere you could pick up, lots of horny young Asian guys looking for a farang for the night...or longer...lol, however one issue is your age as at 18 technically they should not let you in...its 20+....but security usually only check the younger Asians and not the farang so you might be able to slip in, worse case they'll just politely turn you away if they do ask to see ID.

Khao San Rd is most definitely a fun place and you really should visit it at least 1x or 2x, its always buzzing and something going on...a few of my regular 'dates' that know me sometimes ask to go there and we'll just wander around a bit and take it in...grab a couple of drinks and join one of the partying bars for a bit.  Usually spend a couple of hours there and then head back to Silom.  If you are going with a friend then 22:00 - 00:00 probably best as can get a bit more 'edgy' after midnight as the booze takes hold of some people.  Lots of my guys love it and i usually give them the choice and more often than not they'll pick there.

You could slot it in before DJ Station...then head to DJ (just before midnight) for the last couple of hours, if you keep yourself in shape i doubt you'd be lonely by the end of the evening at your age!

Enjoy! (i'll be there in 2 weeks too...can't wait)

Totally agree with you DayDreamer...that's also what I noticed...when a member here post their trip reports, chances are other members, the same persons, will contradict or worse write negative comments. Its free to express your opinions in every thread but please be considerate to the the feelings of the OP. Also, if the things the OP written are not allowed, then his attention will be called by the admin. I'm not against anyone, I'm just sharing what our threads have become as compared b4...peace 2 all!!!

To be fair DrimVoiz i've seen plenty of Trip reports that don't catch 'negative' comments, i don't often write reports of my own, but after reading & thoroughly enjoying others members reports earlier in the year inc Vinapu's i made the effort (first time in a long time tbh) to draft a detailed report and everyone was pretty friendly.

Another accused me of elitism because I referred to " 'lesser' clubs". I had originally apostraphied the word "lesser", but that was actually a mistake. Lesser clubs are first of all a matter not of opinion but of fact: they don't offer shows, they offer fewer boys, and they even charge less. They ARE "lesser". Which, of course, doesn't mean that their staff or patrons are lesser persons. Enough with this PC equality BS!!

Ok no problem i'll bite...just out of interest...as your comments above are clearly aimed at me...how many times have you visited 1) Thailand 2) Bangkok & 3) Silom to form these balanced & detailed opinions of these clubs?

You've decided to set yourself up as source of knowledge for other newbies but the danger is your giving out BAD ADVICE.  Your idea of a so called 'lesser club'...after the grand total of 1 visit to Silom may not necessarily align with others, your content to bang on about freedom...try giving out balanced reports without dishing clubs that you've barely spent a few hours in.

correct , but I bet that out of 20 guys on the stage at Freshboys  you will select  9 whom you could possibly off, 6  non offing material but still looking presentable and other 5  you would wonder what  the hell they are even doing there.

And I 'd have the same  but chances are  some of mine 5 would land in your 9 category and other way around

Yes that's true, but i'd suggest that's a different point Vinapu...not where i was coming from, ok lets look at it a different way

1 group of people drive a BMW 3 series

1 group of people drive a BMW 7 series

The 7 series is a better car, but does that make the people inside it better...no...we both know that...the people in the 7 series might 'think they're better, but that's just their snobbery

Inside each group yes absolutely we might like or dislike the people individually, and in that respect yes i'd agree with your point as the guy who sets your pulse racing when you spot him on stage for the first time may well be different to the one that excites me.

Of course if its the same guy...its a race to see who can get him a drink first!!

I understand what you are saying bu the reality is popular guys who are in demand are more expensive than not so popular guys whether he has a heart of gold or treat you like a king.

I would say that varies in my experience, they might 'push' for more (and there's no harm in that) but its up to the individual to say Yes or No, also if they decide that they really want to go with you...or a friend of theirs in the bar whom you've gone with already has provided a good 'reference or report' on you that features in their decision making process to.

  9. Me personally i don't particularly agree with the terms like 'lesser clubs' or 'premier boys', we all like different things / people / places.  Those terms imply Elitism which is unnecessary in this scene, a boy who works in Freshboys is no better or worse than a guy who works in Dreamboys.  What matters are the character & mannerisms of the guy in question and how they treat you on your 'date' with them.

Agreed TIP levels are up to the individual, but I know plenty of guys who are delighted with 3K+ overnight for Long-time in BKK...mainly because they know they'll have a fun night in DJ Station, the Khao San rd or some other type of BKK nightlife along the way (we rarely sleep before 5am), so the 'fun' matters to a lot of them as well.  If they know your a 'fun' person to be with for many that will count in their assessment of you too.

Yes, #21 is the short muscular one. He's a good lad. My source in the bar tells me that Yoyo is #18. I have never taken him off but sometimes give him a tip. I don't recall #16. I have also had fun with Viet men #42 and #19 and like them both.  Other men I would recommend at Screwboys, though not Viet, are  #25 and #35.

Bear in mind those guys can change numbers during the year, Viet's especially all head home at Tet...or at other times to help family etc...some for a month or so, when they get back new number allocated.  I know the guys in Screw-boys well, its my 'go to' bar in Patpong and been caught out by that before.

The 3 bars u mentioned offer bigger bodies/muscles, but not necessarily bigger dicks. 'Normal' or lean/swim or twink types also have big dicks.

I actually prefer these because body builders aren't my type, and am therefor looking for recommendations in this direction.

As several other posters said above...those 3 bars are renown for their Twink type guys, or what I refer to as 'Pocket Twinks / Swimmers body' types...not heavily muscular.   Generally if the guys want to build themselves up they'll move on from those bars to say Jupiter where they know there's more chance of getting an off with that type of look.

Plus as the wise old saying goes...'it aint what you got...its how you use it'...me personally I'm much more interested in the whole package as in nice body but also good character / fun personality and 'good heart' as the Thai boys would say.

It's astonishing that they pay such large sums of money to come here ILLEGALLY.       If they get here, they cannot work legally.    Furthermore, the law requires any landlords to check the ID documents of any tenants to ensure they are legally in the country.    So they cannot rent accommodation from any reputable landlord.

The UK really needs to have a close look at why people are so desperate to come here illegally.     In some cases, risking their lives to cross from France, which is a comparable country.     We are doing something wrong.    Once we figure it out, take steps to inform & educate people.

Finally, how can truck loads of people enter the country undetected ?      Had they survived, no doubt the Vietnamese (and others) would have worked hard and been just the kind of people we need here.   However, when there are millions of Taliban sympathizers out there, who are exactly the type of people we don't want here, I would hope that our borders would be more secure.

From what I have read & heard I don't think a lot of them paid up front...often a case of a debt that then has to be worked off, in many cases it leads to them being taken advantage of in the UK and treated like indentured labour (at best).

In terms of how they get through it appears the use of refrigerated trucks by the people smugglers is a VERY dangerous attempt to try hide them from the body heat scanners they have at the ports to scan trucks, also that port they came through handles commercial / cargo primarily as far as I know.

Anyone who preys on people to that extent must have a very very dark soul that's all I can say.

  13. I live less than 15 miles away from the port where those poor people were found so fair to say 'I'm on the Ground here'...as DivineMadman wisely said 'feelings are raw' especially for those of us who have deep and meaningful links with the Vietnamese community.

I don't think its wrong to say that these people were murdered effectively...at very least manslaughter and last time I heard that's in line with some of the charges the gang (they've rounded up so far on the UK/European side) are being charged with.  If you place 39 human beings in a refrigerated container with limited air supply and they die, I think its fair to say you had more than a hand in their deaths.

A lot of those young people who started out on that journey by all accounts thought they had some type of 'VIP ticket' and probably never expected to find themselves in that life or death type situation, but I suspect by the time they were confronted with it i.e. getting in the truck or not...in that situation having travelled so far they must have felt immense pressure to continue on.

When I ask a man to sit with me I always buy him a drink.

Same as that...if I call him over and sat for any time

    Drink+Tip (if not offing him)

    Drink+Off/Tip(if offing him)

But bear in mind not all bars have same layout...in Screwboys there are 2 areas that the boys hang-out in IF they're not full of customers so if your in their space effectively sometimes you'll find more just plonk themselves down near you chatting to your chosen boy and you...its friendly like that.  Then it gets more grey...but typically if another boy is chatting to me and my boy and we're just laughing / messing around i'll make sure the 2nd or poss 3rd / 4th boys get 100 bhat Tips when I leave, sometimes might buy more boy drinks.  Just depends on how fun things are.   Its just a judgement call and being fair minded...the mamas will not hasstle you or the 2nd, 3rd/4th boy if its one of the areas they hangout in and you have a boy with drink already.

Boys get commission from the bar for every drink client orders for them.

True...but I think those commissions are quite modest...like 20-40bhat, often see a Boy who gets an off pass his chit to a pal who has not

  16. 15 hours ago, spoon said:

Not to mention he needs to fight for off with 50 other boys, morr than double in screwboys. My usual issue with screwboys is the smoke, not the boys nor the mamasan

There's often more than 20/25 guys in Screwboys, at the busy weekends I've seen that stage heaving (literally) plus with boys sat on the lower stools also....last Christmas easily 35-40 which in a small bar like that is quite a sight!

Yoyo did not like too strong air conditioning in the Lucky Boys and it's why left, at least this is what he told me

I could believe that to be one of the reasons as with the size of Luckyboys the AC is quite full on in there, boys try going to work...get caught in rain (with recent BKK weather) and next thing are freezing in the AC, in Screwboys they sometimes get away with turning off the AC unit nearest the stage sometimes when its quiet...there's usually a running battle between Boys & Mamas turning it on/off (funny to watch)

  18. Screwboys is more laid back imho than some of the other Patpong bars...e.g. both Freshboys 2 and Lucky attempt to keep the boys away from you until you call them over.  Screwboys don't really worry about that and the boys will happily come over of their own accord if they recognize you and sit down for a chat.  But yes calling a guy over during a show is a good call (unless he's hungry & waiting for the break to get his dinner)...treat them with respect and you'll have a lot of fun.

For those who know him, I'm happy to report Yoyo is back at Screwboys after short stint at Lucky Boys.

How do I know? Your guess is right !

That's interesting as that's the 2nd Viet I've heard about this week that's moved on from Luckyboys...something to do with days off my guy said (as in not working)

Must be a lot of competition on those stages as the moment
