In the 1990's, there were three My Way bars in Thailand.  One was in Phuket, as mentioned by @mauRICE, another My Way bar was located in Bangkok, on a small soi off Rama IV, near to the Surawong intersection with Rama IV Road.  The third My Way branch of the business was located in Chiang Mai, in the northern part of the city, in the Santitham area.  

The three bars not only shared the same name, but all three My Way bars appeared on the same business card.

yes and no. Bars are not post office or store where slowing employees can be assigned back room duties by firm out of sense  of loyalty. In entertainment business they need to measure up  if even most successful employee of the past is still pulling in clients or pushing them away.

We all miss certain boys even if they are losing bit of their  shine but I'm sure we have also  those who are not interest us any more and still when we show up they try to  stick to us immediately, effectively pushing other boys away .

I'm trying to be polite and not name anybody but there are guys for whom for this or that reason ( lost looks, greed , unreliability, lies etc. )  I lost hots for completely and don't want them to plant beside me and ask for drink and tip which happens with certain regularity.

not long ago there was faded old sign still hanging there , good 10 years after that bar closed

I used to have a guy from a different bar that had the same policy but for a slightly later time, I think it was 8 or 8.30. I honestly don’t remember which bar anymore. Well this boy was never on time for work. I remember having lengthy debates with him that he could wake up an hour earlier or finish his gym time earlier, and earn that extra 200 baht per day. With 200 baht, his basic daily meals would be covered and then he only had rent to worry about. He just never saw it as money being taken out of his own pocket. Without sounding harsh, I eventually realized it was sheer laziness and also arrogance of assuming he would always make 2000-3000 (or more) each day, would always have soft hearted punters like me on the hook, and 200 baht was insignificant. I dropped him soon after that, for various reasons but also because I did not admire his personality.

In the past, before the current 7.30pm rule, many guys would only turn up at 9pm.

Customers who arrived early at 8pm and saw that there were only 3 or 4 guys would make a U-turn and exit.

Hence, the boss implemented the rule to ensure at least 7 or 8 guys are available when bar opens officially at 8pm.

if they have customer from Grindr it's fine but if it's out of sheer laziness  I side with hank above, it's arrogance. While 200 is not a lot , it's still plenty enough for anybody to get their ass from the chair and lift it from the floor and thinking otherwise invites bad karma.

I once arranged with popular guy I liked a lot for mid-day meeting , not sure it was 1.5 k or perhaps even 2000. We were supposed to meet at 3pm  in front of his , at that time closed, bar. After waiting 30  mins I went my way , only to receive message   around 5 pm "sorry , I slept in". it took me 2 or 3 trips before I stepped in his bar again. We talk and drink again but can't bring myself to off him again .

The guy I mentioned wasn’t hustling customers before work. He just woke up late, went to gym, took a long shower, did his hair carefully, had a meal then showed up for work at the latest possible time. It wasn’t just one occasion where he had been out late or hungover, this was his routine. Or as you express it “me time” 😆  He fancied himself one of the bar stars (it’s true he was sexy and charming) and during dry spells would send me messages “no money”. Yet after investigating, I found out he still wasn’t making an effort to secure the 200 baht early reward. 

Even for those of us with more means, we would never turn up our noses at 200 baht because that could mean breakfast, an expensive cup of coffee as a treat, or something else taken care of for the day.

If you read my post, my point was when I visited, second drink, third drink were all 500 baht not just the first which included price of admission. But jason1975’s menu shows a different pricing structure so I don’t know if they have a different high season menu, my eyesight is failing or some other reason. My friend and I didn’t split bills and his second drink was 500. Unless we got gently scammed.

My point is i wonder if the bar should make it the other way around. Would it make a different? Gaining 200 baht, vs losing 200 baht. It would be interesting to see if it yield different results.

I recall boys used to get 200 baht for each show, maybe more for jupiter and moonlight model i guess. Info might be outdated though

I believe there are two different menus. The menu that most customers are shown is the red menu showing individual drinks.

I was shown the full menu because I ordered a bottle of whisky.

I agree with @hank75 that second drinks should be cheaper.

Yes. Some guys forgo the early reporting 200 baht. They are confident of securing offs or they know they can at the very least earn some money from drinks and tips.

They also don't want to stand on stage for the additional one hour from 8pm to 9pm when there are few customers. Customers only start filling the bar from 9.30pm onwards.

And yes, there are guys whom I know who meet customers for dinner from 7pm to 9pm.

apparently that 200 is only paid  that evening if boy doesn't get subsequent off. If he is offed , then 200 bonus doesn't apply. That way bar ensures they have money for food even in slow periods.

Yes. It is a strange rule but T.I.T. 🤷‍♂️

There is also another rule. Guys who don't get offed in one night are allowed to take the following night off from work if they wish to.

But it doesn't apply to weekend nights.

Likely to prevent guys who got offer from claiming sick and having their private arrangement with the same client on subsequent night

I believe that is the reason.

Latest rule just announced at Freshboys is that everyone must report for work 24 December to 2 January.

If the guys want to miss work, they have to pay 1000 baht. (Instead of the usual 500 baht)

Occasionally they also shared boys! I recall meetng one in Phuket who was taking time off from his usual Chiang Mai bar. 

I really enjoyed the one just off Rama IV. The boys really danced, really used the (dancing) poles and always seemed to be enjoying themselves.
