  • Rainy season is no joke in Bangkok… yes, it really is. Upon landing at DMK in the evening, I was actually a bit lost about where I should go first. It was raining heavily outside. Taking a GrabCar str

  • On the second day, there wasn’t much activity planned. I just lazily stayed in my room without doing anything. After breakfast, I went to the hotel’s communal space to get some of my office work done.

TREE ANTS.

Flavor Profile: A savory, slightly spicy stir-fry featuring tender slices of beef tossed with garlic, herbs, chili, and red tree ants. The ants provide a distinct, natural tangy or citrus-like sourness along with a subtle crunch.

There are ants in Foodland, just not on the menu!

@Foolish is either Singaporean or lives in Singapore and they generally only do short trips to Bangkok and I'm guessing he's making the best use of his time after his luggage ordeal and may get in touch with us later. Being stuck at the airport for so many hours in limbo like that must have been physically and mentally exhausting for him.

Heard an interesting comment from local friends. Story is that airport/Thai Airways, prioritised Thai Airways partner airlines, so Thai itself avoided penalties, thereby leaving Thai passengers up creek sans paddle. Sounds plausible!

Confirmed by press articles!

Our plane leaving Bangkok was delayed for eight hours from nine in the morning till five in the evening because they didn’t have the people to unload the plane from the night before. They managed to get that done just in time for us to takeoff for Bali. If we had been even a few minutes more, the crew would’ve timed out. Despite being stuck in Bangkok Airport for eight hours, I count myself lucky in this particular mess.

I don't understand this. Why would Thai airways prioritise helping other airlines (albeit "partners") and their passengers over its own customers? Or do we mean Bkk Suvarnabhumi airport management prioritising other airlines over Thai? If so, why? If you still have the link to the press articles, could you share?

I think it was in ,'The Nation'. It said it was the contractual arrangements that Thai have with their partner airlines holds Thai responsible, presumably to a greater figure than they have to pay their pax. This comment was circulating round Bangkok. If you Google it, you'll likely get something!

Hello, I'm alive and well haha. Had a busy last couple of days cos I was stalking my fave thai actor/singer 🤭

But i did not waste my time just doing that of cos!

On Monday, I visited Pribta clinic for my half yearly test then I had a very nice massage with a very proactive guy that left me all relaxed and exhausted. I really needed that after the traumatic flight haha. My first stop of the night was at Dream boy. Was surprised to see that one of the ex-masseur at S'sense is now working there. But I was tired so I left without bringing anyone out.

On Tuesday, I went early to stake out a good spot to stalk my idol. But at night, I was at Freshboys. They had a good crowd. I don't see many new faces but left with a Vietnam boy who kept smiling at me.

Wednesday was another day of stalking as I went early to his birthday fan meet. Had a very good spot to see him up close, that was a highlight haha. With a very good mood, I went to Jupiter. Surprisingly, the venue was only half filled. The show and the boys were the same and I got bored. So i went to good boy, which had a good crowd. Alot of the cuter guys were picked, but i left the place with a cute guy from Myanmar 🤭

Based on the crowd i seen so far (mostly from china I believe), I can't believe it's the lull season. Although the Myanmar boy did say that their business is slow and they are relying on regulars... But with the golden week in China, I expect more will be coming here so the boys should be getting more business :)

I think his name in S'sense was tong tong. He is actually quite skillful in massage.

Chang is working at Klover too. I think in total there are four ex-ssense guys at Klover. Though only one of them at Dreamboys.

Which one is Chang?

Today they fired the Thai Airways CEO due to his mishandling of the situation during the flood crisis.

What is interesting about this is how Thai Air Asia took a different approach to deal with the flood crisis:

  • They flew in baggage handling staff from their other hubs (Chiang Mai, Phuket, etc.) to get them on the ground at Suvarnabhumi,

  • This minimized the problem that local baggage staff who live in Bangkok could not reach Suvarnabhumi due to the floods,

What type of massage place is Klover, I haven't paid much attention....

If there are no booking slots on their site for a "therapist" , is that normal or does that mean they don't work there anymore?

Normal massage place with some extra SS offered, depending on the therapists. I had not a good experience. So nothing much can say.

If there is no booking slots, you can reach out to their admin. Normally it is not updated in the calender.
