After a delightful dinner at Mata Hari, I decided to pop into town for a drink and a look. Crystal Bar was en fete with lots of pink balloons outside and the remnants of a buffet and inside was standing room only. I decided to return later after the show. From the Pattaya City News: Police Lieutenant Colonel Tanargit from Pattaya Police Station was called to the front of the Bang Pub in Soi Day Night 1 in South Pattaya just after 7am on Wednesday to investigate reports of a shooting at the location which led to the death of an employee of the Pub. I had it confirmed by the View Talay Sales office that work on View Talay 7 will re-commence tomorrow 2nd August. Seemingly the situation is not simple. New coins set to reduce minting cost The Cabinet yesterday agreed that adjustments be made to all nine coins in circulation, expecting to cut minting costs by Bt1.9 billion a year. Bangkok Post, Published on August 8, 2007 Chodechai Suwanaporn, a deputy government spokesman, said the resolution would affect all new coins. "The changes are to reduce minting costs, which is higher than the nominal value. The changes will cut costs by Bt1.9 billion per year," he said. For the past several days the exchange rate has been moving steadily in favor of the US dollar and the predictions I have been reading suggest that the trend will continue. As stated in a thread below, only a few weeks ago the baht nearly got into the 32s. Now it is close to getting back into the 34s.
