  2. Well, after my 2nd bout, I went for quite a few years without a problem (wearing arch support), then stopped wearing arch support insoles, and developed a 3rd, horrible bout shortly thereafter. I have never worn shoes without them, ever since. These are what my podiatrist recommended. She did not recommend compressions socks, nor have I seen any studies to show these are effective at preventing PF. With respect to Vinapu's suggesting that I either decline the invitation or address it in advance, we were surprised by the requirement as we showed up at the door. This surprise was complicated by the lack of furniture/place to sit. My feeling was that in places where such requests aren't customary, the shoeless requirement be addressed before we leave (preferably when extending the invitation). I understand cultural differences, but in the US, wearing shoes indoors is the cultural norm.

  4. While we're asking questions ... I have a couple! At places like onespa where you can sort by "available now" I notice a few of the guys I'm interested in are never available. Is that because they're only on call or are they just photos to plus-up the roster? If the former, what is the normal protocol for those guys - do I just message the Line # and ask for a certain guy at a certain time? When messaging a parlor, is it customary to do it in English or should I message them using a translation app? Thanks, in advance!
  5. When I was growing up in Japan I never suffered from plantar fasciitis ; not did I ever hear of someone suffering from it. It only started when I returned to live in Australia. I take my shoes off in my own home but when I visit friends, they all wear their shoes indoor, ,so I leave mine on, too. That may or may not be the cause of my plantar fasciitis. After years of pain I finally came across a solution! Compression socks. Who would have imagined that such a simple solution existed? I only get pain when I go to bed so I just slip these on and the pain magically disappears. So carry these instead of slippers. Maybe worth a try.
  6. when we are invited and accept it we need to obey whatever house rules are. When invited to new place we also need to anticipate that some of the rules maybe weird to us. So I guess an advice you put above is very sound one. If house rules are bothersome to us , right thing will be to decline an invitation or at least address it with host well in advance.
  7. I hope they reopen. It's an institution. Nothing else like it in Asia. But if they are still closed when I visit Bangkok in early to mid June, I will gladly take Tawan guys from the street back to hotel room! Maybe I will hire 2 of them to do muscle flexing for me!
  8. I went to a party last night, which was a birthday celebration for a friend, given by another of his friends (my fiance and I didn't know the party-thrower couple previously). To my surprise, they asked us to take our shoes off before entering the house. I always wear shoes with custom arch supports, since, when I don't I can develop a case of plantar fasciitis, which can cause foot pain for months. The treatment can necessitate painful injections, physical therapy, and the wearing of special boots. Taking off shoes before entering a house is not the custom in the US (one of the couple was Asian, so I'm guessing the request started from him). Also, their house, newly moved-into, didn't have any stools or places where I could take the weight off of my feet. I just kept my weight off the foot which has been the culprit more often, and thankfully I'm OK. The next day (today) I went online to see if there have been any scientific studies demonstrating any illness or medical condition which would be less frequent in houses wherein people take their shoes off, and there doesn't seem to be any science behind this custom (presumably, stubbed toes are more frequent with shoes off). This seems to be all a matter of tradition--presumably traditions which predate the invention of the vacuum cleaner. I remember traveling to homes in Japan, where guests are requested to take their shoes off, and are provided with slippers. However, they provided no slippers. I understand in Japan that (1) shoes can tear up tatami mats which often cover the floors, and (2) tatami mats are difficult if not impossible to vacuum. This couple just had a hardwood floor, though. Should this couple have given fair warning to guests regarding their no-shoes policy, given that it's not the custom in this country? Provided shoe covers of slippers? Usually in the US, it's just assumed that one is not going to show up at a party in dirt-laden hiking boots that one wore on a recent hike. Separately, how should I approach this problem in the future? Should I just carry slippers in my car, then, if unexpectedly asked to remove my shoes, explain that I have a medical condition, and can go back to the car, get the slippers, and then transfer the shoe inserts into the slippers upon my return?

  12. Oh, of course. Because Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and the UAE are so much more interesting than Egypt, Cambodia, France, Turkey, or the US.... 😄 That has got to be the silliest list I've ever seen. It just shows what some tourist offices are willing to pay to get on silly lists.
  13. Throwing a hot dog down a hallway is the US equivalent....... so nice of you to remember me on one of your your rare appearances here 😛
  14. I can't even remember the last time I saw a "sexy twink" at a Massage shop in Pattaya. 6 years ago? There were a couple of cute freelancers before high season who ended up at Soda Massage in Jomtien Complex, but at this point you might as well be sticking a sausage in the channel tunnel. @floridarob can give you a full rundown on this issue, but on the flipside. I wish you luck. I actually feel sorry for the tourists who come here now. I see some guys looking like Rick in the first episode of The Walking Dead, wondering what the fuck is going on. Then again, a good percentage of the tourist look like the zombies.

  16. Bangkok got bit more expensive but mostly in more "upscale" bars some boys may ask for inflated tip , say 2000 where 1500 was norm or 2500 up to 3000 instead of 2000. Tips in massages are rather the same . Soi6, Silom and Suriwong are your friends and Saphan Kwai /Suthisan area where min tip oscillate between 800 and 1000 . As for "sexy twinks " what that really means ? The same guy may cause sudden erection in one and screaming run away in another one. Thailand and all SE Asian are not areas with shortage of sexy twinks
  17. the "in your lifetime" construction is really weird. When else would you do it?
  18. Hi Guys, I have really enjoyed checking out your posts the last few days and getting your take on Pattaya. I am planning to be there about a week in July. Can I please ask for you to recommend a hotel to stay at. Was thinking to stay around Jomtien Complex, but I also see there are other fun areas as well (ie Boyztown). So maybe something more central? Let me know what you think!
  19. I'm the youngest in my family, so I learned to be quiet early in life...... One time while getting a foot massage at Tarntawan massage, where I think Green Massage is now, the guy covered me loosely with a blanket because instead of changing into their massage pants, I just stayed in boxers. He kept "accidently" touching my dick underneath, I told him I liked that.....the shop had other people getting foot massages and no one noticed that he had jerked me off under the blanket and used a spare towel to clean up.....great stealth technique he had, and yes, no moaning from me...
  20. I do notice some twinks at Soda Massage in Jomtien Complex, so worth a try. In Sunee Plaza there is Winner Boy Bar which usually has 10 boys on stage and primarily twinks. There is a recent post on this forum with photos of Winner Bar. In Boyztown there is Toy Boys and Classic Boys both of which have some twinks in their repertoire.
  21. Their ruling may allow immunity in certain cases. Who knows if justice will ever be done? By now we can see after many years that Mueller, Jack Smith, the J6 committee and 2 impeachments have not been able to punish Trump adequately for his allowing the Russians to infiltrate his election and not been able to punish Trump for attempting a coup. No matter what the gavel gang at SCOTUS decides, what appears to be the path forward at this late stage in history is America realizing the the GOP is a dumpster fire and realizing the facts on the ground about Trump which I heard Simon Rosenberg list in an interview on The Bulwark 1 He raped E Jean Carroll 2 His huge financial fraud 3 Lied to the FBI about stealing defense secrets 4 Led an attack on the Capitol to overturn an election 5 He and his family have taken more money from foreign governments than any president in history 6 He is responsible for overturning Roe v Wade America must admit the contrast between Trump and Biden and vote accordingly. If we continue waiting for SCOTUS to steer the country we're fucked. Vote Blue.
  22. Only the GOP celebrates the killing of a helpless animal. Kristi Noem never should have been allowed to have a "pet" in the first place. So much for "the sanctity of life". https://www.theguardian.com/books/2024/apr/26/trump-kristi-noem-shot-dog-and-goat-book
  23. You have a website or LINE ID of that massage place One Spa. Interested in their twink line up
  24. I will be back in Thailand end of June for 1.5 week after more than 1 year since the last visit. Anyone has up to date info regarding where the most sexy twinks are in massage shops in Pattaya and Bangkok ? I will of course go over some of the recent posts here also, but this may speed it up. I assume prices are still the same? Drinks, off fees, short time? I came in 2014 for the first time and haven't noticed any significant changes really. Maybe Bangkok got more expensive. I do notice the bath is now cheaper than it has been in quite some time. Near the level I remember from 2014. I assume Sunee is now totally gone or some bars still manage to earn a living there? Each year visit it at least for one evening, but the last few visits it was not really worth it. Thank you.
  25. while wholeheartedly I agree with Thailand top position, rest is bit questionable - relatively low place of India or Italy with relation to Greece, absence of Mexico , USA , Spain , France , Turkey and UK and prominent position of Emirates makes me wonder. Truth is , always those types of rankings produce results questionable results. Me and my travelling friends often recall similar ranking from one of luxury travel magazines in early 90 ties when Palm Springs California came on top of most desired cities to visit leaving in the dust behind Paris, Rome , Rio, Tokyo, NY and all other worthies including St.Olaf, MN
