If you are a newbie, as your post suggests, I'd advise you to present your companion to Reception so that his ID is checked and held until he leaves. In other words, choose a hotel which provides this level of security. And don't be embarrassed.

Is this not, in the main, an urban "thing"? In rural areas, Songkran is more traditionally-celebrated. Farmer know the value of water in Isaan and so on and don't waste it.

I am also escaping the water bazooka squirting madness of Pattaya - I leave for Vietnam on 12 April and return after the last squirts and water splashing should have been concluded on 22 April.
Some years back, I participated in the Songkran madness but one of my eyes got an infection from some of the dirty water that is splashed around and it took 1 entire week for the infection to go away - so I want to avoid this year's festivities.  Many of my friends are saying that I should wear googles but I also wear glasses and it is just so inconvenient to do that for 7 continuous days of water madness.....
Already here the stores are selling these GIANT bazooka water pistols - OMG

It's a shame that so much needful water are wasted. The government could limit it to one day water festival and to avoid this stupid waste.

Nor for me. Other people have a right to their own enjoyment but not to impinge on mine, such as throwing a bucket-full of water in my face when I'm in a crowded a baht-bus.

Nor I....but I found being the only customer in a bar- which made me the performer and the guys my audience- very off-putting. If the mamasan was standing outside  and I was about to enter, a sure sign that something was amiss would be when started to clap to warn the dancers- who were sitting down in an empty bar- to stand-up.
    I'd get out PDQ!

Welcome! Your first visit....how I envy you. I can still remember my first night in Thailand, where I went, what I saw. And who I met. That was  nearly  thirty years ago. You're in for a treat.

Admittedly it was long ago, but I must admit that a  customer sitting with a guy near me  calling a waiter for a tissue, was perhaps one orgasm too far (or perhaps too close) for me.
Another memory even more ancient, was of overt oral sex performed, again not far from me. I reflected that the toilets may have been a better venue, though I must admit that in those far-off days the toilets in many bars were, well.....I wouldn't have invited my mother to use them.

I have been told  that NB isn't a typical go go bar, in that the guys tend to earn their money from tips within the bar rather than through offs.  Hence the games.
Not my cup of tea (it never was) but it has managed to provide entertainment for decades to a loyal fan-base....so it must be doing something right.

I get the nervousness, but it isn't that scary. The only real "danger" is you'll get charged more than average if they sense you're naïve.
Hopefully some locals will offer up more current details. Have fun. I love the city.

On the body side she has a cock bigger than mine.. She maybe comes in at a hundred and twenty pounds. She took her underwear off and my eyeballs exploded.. Glorious tear drop rear end without a mark on it and clean shaven everywhere. It is amazing and as I write this he is sleeping. I'm getting excited just looking at him sleep. Brings back a lot of memories from forty years ago. If I drop dead tomorrow at least i went out in style.

I went to yupins and it was wonderful! I'm not an expert on thai food but i've never had any better. We had three main dishes with beer and it was thirteen hundred and twenty five baht. Fine european man owns the place and he is very polite With great staff. Tomorrow I take him shopping Instead of payment. But I know where i'm going To draw the line.. Wish me well and i'm having a wonderful Time in thailand..

Thai food? Dick's , two hundred meters from you, is reliable. And you can people-watch as well. It offers straightforward Thai food, nothing fancy, but well-prepared and generously dished. And well-priced.
