I’ve just checked the Ambiance on Booking.com. I entered a stay of 7 nights in a couple of weeks and the price for that starts at 4600 baht. This is for their cheapest room - there are larger rooms going up to 14000 baht for a suite. 4600 is 657 a night - this seems a real, bargain. The place apparently has been refurbished. There are no negative reports on Tripadvisor.

I'm joining long chorus above with the same advice, it's not  a way things are done in Thailand although  when I was whoring locally where I live it was standard practice here.
I was never in 22 trips asked to advance payment by the boy. Only massage places sometimes are asking for payment for massage up front but that's it.
I had a case when mid long time boy asked me for advance partial payment as he was hungry and wanted to go to buy something to eat. I gave him half of negotiated fee hoping he will not show up at all as he smelled like an ashtray up close but after about 1 hr he disappointed me by knocking into door. But he was a gentleman and himself suggested I reduce his final payment because he left me for so long.
It's not to say I did not pay in advance there. When with the guy offed previously  often I put money on the table saying it's for you in the morning but it never resulted in any reduction in services and time - who would risk losing such generous and charming client anyways, LOL

Just talking to my Filipino boyfriend today and we plan to meet late this month after my visit to Thailand.
He was talking about homophobia in the Phillipines etc and it made me remember the time in Pattaya where I came across  "homophobic guys in a restaurant in the soi bukhao area ,two  men and a lady farang all drunk of course decided to move away from our table citing description profanities , I didn't even get into a conversation with them, but peculiarly they chose the table right next to ours despite their being umpteen tables to choose from,it didn't concern me as the Thai boy I was with didn't understand a word they said ,he was completely oblivious to it 😆

Have you ever experienced this ?
As far as i remember it was once only in 20 years of coming to Thailand
I have never been to the Phillipines and don't plan on holding hands or anything as I said to my Filipino friend.
I think times are changing and young people nowadays are much much more tolerant and educated about gay people .
Schools are teaching about transgender & gay partners etc and I think it's great , I think the only times you need to be wary of is straight guys our age who are not brought up to accept gay people.
The younger farang are much more accepting and with tiktok etc there is much more awareness , but people our age 50ish ..60ish etc are still held back in time
And I think another thing too, if your a older man with a younger partner I think people still think that is strange, particularly if your partner is say 30 years younger than you .
I was reading the comment section of a tiktok video a older gay man in his  late 50's with a Filipino boy in his 20's , unfortunately some of the comment especially from middle-aged females were horrendous describing the Farang guy as you know what that starts with P.

Probably the biggest problem is the language barrier. How to make your intentions clear if you can’t understand each other?
Places like Pattaya or Bangkok will probably be your best chance, where waiters and bellboys in establishments frequented by gay customers probably know the score.
I have read in the past about guys who even managed to hire str8 Muay Thai boxers. However, this was from a place just outside Walking Street in Pattaya.
Until a few years ago there was a bar, located on the left as you exit from Walking St onto Beach Road, which had on the premises a Thai boxing ring. This was intended as an attraction to punters; they had exhibition matches of Thai boxing. The bouts were pretty fake from all accounts.
After the bouts, the guys would go around soliciting tips. If you gave them a few 100 baht tips, it would get their attention.
I remember reading about a guy who started buying them drinks, and eventually after much compliments on how muscular they were, and telling them what a fine "puu chai" man they were, etc, he was successful in enticing them to his hotel hotel for some compensated fun. Not sure if all the guys were up for that option, but that uncertainty was what made it more exciting for those that partook in the chase.
However, I believe that bar is now closed, and your chances of success in this might be somewhat different in the rest of Thailand, most of which wouldn’t happen to have a gay sex district within 200 metres, as that boxing ring had.

Actually, post show, all the performers lined up in front of the bar for pictures, so if you want to tip and talk to any of them, that would be a good time to do it. Too bad, at that point, I had a boy from Hornet who came to my hotel (located just across the alley from the bar) but somehow got lost. So I had to rush out to find him. And then there was this drag queen from the show, who seemed to take a special interest in me for some reasons. Between her stopping me for chat, keeping an eye out for the boy, and using google translation to talk to him on Line, I was in no mind to ask for the dancer's contact.

Going by the pics of the gorgeous guy,he does look a bit older so I imagine he speaks relatively good English.
I guess you could even try walking up to the stage and tipping him including your contact number or even inviting him for a drink later.

So are many other things nowadays.
Take for example a small Singha Beer, in a beer bar. Usually 100 baht in Pattaya. That’s approx £4.40 per pint. Same as UK prices. Probably more in BKK.
Bangkok Gogo bar drink prices are way in excess of western bar prices!

I love a room with a balcony, can't recall if I had a balcony at Zing resort in jomtien.
I know I had one at the Agate hotel in jomtien.
oh and be careful when booking for the Zing hotel, I remember booking on a app way back in 2018 thinking Wow I snared a bargain here for the Zing hotel, only to find out I actually booked the Zing hotel up on the main road and not in the jomtien complex !

it can be trained, yes Chang does the trick or even better is award winning Vinapu cocktail consisting 60 % of Gin and 40% of gin
I was the same , now I walk straight to the guy and place note in no other place than deep inside his jeans or briefs and usually I'm applauded by the audience and never had negative reaction from the boy itself so brave yourself

I would ask the waiter if that particular dancer is available.
Or maybe even ask if he is available to drink with you a short time
Its not as easy as it sounds I know, I have done it myself and I usually get a waiter who doesn't understand what I'm saying .
I did it once at The Venue a few years ago and asked if a particular dancer was available only to have the waiter think I wanted him !😆

Actually I did the last time I was in M2M before Covid. Asked the waiter about a different dancer (who is also in the show tonight) if "he goes with customers". The waiter said he didn't know so I tipped him to get the dancer to talk to me. He literally dragged the poor boy from backstage  but since the boy didn't speak a word of English, we just smiled at each other for a few awkward seconds and that was that.

I was in M2M, Jomtien Complex, tonight to watch their Monday show. It was good, highly energetic as usual. There is one dancer who looks hot and I think he's also the best dancer of the night. Probably even has some formal training in dancing the way he moves and pirouettes. Just wonder if we have a chance to off a performer from a show? Anybody here tried it?

More like the hope stage than planning. Starting to think ahead to my trip for next year, March maybe, I know it's a long way off and things can change but it's good to start thinking about it and there are things here at home that require my attention before then. So far I look at the flights, Thai Airways are currently not flying the direct Perth to Bangkok route but hoping they start up again soon, every time I flew that route the flights were near full so there's hope. If they don't start up before I'm ready then it will be Singapore Air which is ok but the preference is a direct flight.
Hotel choice will come down to either The Raya (stayed there a few times and liked it) or the Tarntawan (an old favourite) but I guess it will come down to the best value at the time. Hopefully by then things will have got back to normal or close to what it was before with plenty of massage shops open, lots of lost time to make up for so hoping the boys will be as horny as ever. Hell I might even start visiting some of the bars for a change. I am also interested to get away on some day trips so a bit of research to do, there are some old favourites that I will revisit like Ayutthaya. I have missed my trips over the last few years and I am hoping nothing else comes along to screw things up again.

Speaking as someone who was actually there on the ground, and saw the faces of those celebrating the moment, I can assure you it was simply not a case of glitz and lipstick. These were predominantly a cross section of young people reveling in the joy of celebrating who they truly are and enjoying themselves. They were unafraid to to be themselves—and I envied their courage.

I come from that older generation of westerners who had to guard their sexuality for personal or professional reasons. Consequently we never experienced the freedom and exhilaration of being proud of our underlying identity. Bangkok provided the profound but temporary release from the bounds.
I hope we can all celebrate the the fact that the young gays who gathered in Silom Sunday do not share our repression.

Bangkok’s new governor is reported to be among those waving a gay banner. He provides hope and sustenance to those who braved elite society’s ignorance and discrimination on a given day inJune, 2022.

Inside Tawan, there were 3 guys in white briefs with black dots. Leopard pattern. I would have prefered plain white but at least they are not in jeans. And their briefs are the bikini type which shows their dick shape clearly pointed down. All muscled guys but with many tattoos. Only one tall guy without tattoo and one boyish looking guy with only a small tattoo on his chest. He's the smallest size among all the guys hence vinapu called him a twink when he reported in Tawan forum topic. He's what i would call a twunk - a twink who works out in gym. But very offable. In fact, he would be offed by customer at end of show.
Vinapu's dinner companion recognised and greeted me. I got him to sit with me. Excellent firm muscles but i told him no off as it was my first night and i wanted to take it slow. I bought him two drinks through the night and also tipped him. He was affectionate with me and gave me good strong massage. I think he would be an excellent LT. But he's not really my type. The show itself was entertaining - candle and wax performance by one guy, lip synching by 3 singers taking turns, one of whom was a ladyboy, SM themed act and simulated sex with 3 guys sucking another 3 guys but with condom. A group of 4 farang enjoyed themselves and were generously tipping. About 17 to 18 customers. About 10 to 12 muscle guys. To be truthful, i got the hots for one of the staff. He was buff and wore Hawaiian shirt. It was his black glasses that turned me on. Nerdy hottie! Mamasan was very friendly and helpful with questions. Show ended with big cock show by 3 guys. One of them let out a gush of creamy cum into the air. Spectacular! After that, final rotation for the night. Guys were naked to entice offs before midnight. I said goodbye to my newfound friend. I might go back if i fancy LT with him. Early days yet. Many more bars and guys to check out.
