I have never spotted a dry cleaner in Pattaya . . . until tonight. If there are others, I haven't spotted them and perhaps someone else can let us know where they are. The one I spotted is called Laundry Express. It's on Pattaya Tai (South Road) beyond Third Road in the direction of Sukhumvit Highway. If you are going in that direction, look for it on the right, close to Soi Korpai (about Soi 16).] So, if you happen to need a dry cleaner, there's at least one in Pattaya.

The other day there was a nice pic of the interior of a snappy looking bar or restaurant. Today a pic a a katoey on a chopper. Would be nice if the powers-that-be figure out some way to add a caption to the cover page pics so that those of us who are interested would know what we are looking at. Just a thought.

To me, one glitch is the transiteration of the name of the airport itself. The name of the airport is spelled Suvarnabhumi, and yet it is pronounced "soo-wanna-poom." I wonder who came up with English version of the spelling . . . According to the following article, you do indeed have to take a shuttle bus from the arrival hall to another location to get a bus or a taxi. Anyone reading this forum probably knows that the Sawatdee forum was offline for a few days. When it was placed back online, it was blocked from within Thailand. I just tried it again and, lo and behold, it is unblocked. If this works as blocking has worked before, then from within Thailand sometimes you'll find it blocked and saometimes you won't. If you try it and find it blocked, then try again the next day. Chances are it won't be blocked. Also, once you find it unblocked, chances are that you'll find it blocked again sooner or later. The blocking seems to be intermittent. I have no idea why, but that's the way it is.

Last December, I met a young man (FYI: he was 20 at the time, I was 58) who works at a bar and had a great time with him for a week. Sitting in Dick's Cafe Bangkok last week, with a friend, we saw a first, a vendor with a trailer full of houseplants and garden plants for sale. We said simultaneously "Well I have never seen that before!". Within five minutes a guy cycled by with a pole covered in plastic bags of live tropical fish for sale. Just back from a couple of days up in Udon Thani, in Esan.. It is a fair sized city in a populous province and even has a bar called Boy-Boy bar close to the center of town..It was raining very hard the one free nite I was there and the kareoke pictograph on the door lead me to believe it was a kareoke but maybe someone else knows first hand.. The big hotels were full, which was a surprise in low season and we finally ended up in Top Mansion.I was a bit apprehensive when the tuk tuk driver said it was 300B. an nite but it was 3 AM and we needed a room..It was actually new, clean , airconditioned,full bathroom with hot water shower and cable TV...no lift but internet room …

I just can't figure this out. Though the average age of a customer in a go-go bar is often over 50, why in God's name do they continue to play music from only today? The hard thumping rap, the body pulsating techno... It's pure trash to me. However, whenever I ask the owner why they don't play some other mixture of music they always respond with either: 1. The boys don't like it -or- 2. My DJ chooses the music. Who's in control? The DJ and the boys? What about the customer?
