Went to Champa Spa around the corner from Lao Plaza Hotel. (They have a second place, operating identically, on the riverfront next to Lane Xang Hotel.) Decided to pamper myself with a two-and-a-half hour massage: Lao body; herbal; aromatic oil (which I chose from six options, a first for me). Cost: $33. Said I preferred a masseur, and was told I can either go with the one available or wait 30 minutes to check out another guy as well. Didn’t want to wait so I went with Lar: short and thin, cute rather than sexy. Took me to a room with two massage beds (actually in Laos they usually have rooms with at least four-five beds curtained), but I said I wanted a private room. We…

I visited Siem Reap for two days at the beginning of Nov., and stayed at MENs hotel. Instead of elaborating on this excellent stay, I refer you to the detailed description of the hotle at http://www.gaytingtong.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=179&start=25#p46678 (scroll down to a post by funtop on Sep 14). Unlike funtop, I had no luck with the gay friendly (and rentboys pick-up place) Linga Bar. Went there twice after 10 pm in midweek, but no boys there. On the othere hand, had two great massage+ at MENs. They charge $18 for a 60 minutes oil massage (the only kind on the menu). As funtops post mentions, the hotel doesnt dabble in explicit sex and apparently discourages…

The only FF ticket available, and it's a good schedule except for the coach part, is the end of January, beginning of February. Coming from the desert, humidity is my enemy. I usually sweat a few pounds off in visiting Thailand. My preferred time to go is right after Christmas, but airfares are high then and no FF tickets available at decent mileage. I once stayed in Bangkok the first week of March and for a couple of days it was unbearably hot. So, I ask the Thailand regulars: Does the weather get much hotter at the end of January than in the holiday period?

Hi guys, On a Tuesday in mid-November I'll have a 13 hours connect (11:00-24:00) in Bangkok. I've already been there last year for a couple of days, seen the regular tourist sites, stayed at the Tarntawan in Silom and explored that small street full of gay venues nearby (don't remember the name). If possible, this time I'd like to see (site/s) and experience (gay venues) something new. Before returning at 21:00 to the airport, I'll want to end up at a place with a decent bath. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Are the places at Sukhumvit different from Silom? mid-day venues...evening ones... Thanks

Some time ago Lucky et al. recommended the Bangkok mystery/thriller series of novels by Timothy Hallinan over at the other site. I just finished reading his latest novel in the series, The Queen of Patpong. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The middle part of the novel flashes back to Rose's life as a village girl in Isaan and her subsequent migration to Bangkok where she takes on life as a bar girl and later meets her future husband, Poke Raferty. It's a captivating and riveting tale. I'm no literary critic but I think it beats his previous novels hands down. It's available in ebook formats from several vendors. Highly recommended for Thailand enthusiasts.

We have a really good thread going in the Latin America forum about what a week in Rio costs---hotels, meals, boys, sightseeing, etc.. How about getting the same going here for Bangkok? Assuming the exchange rate stays fairly close to what it is now, how much can an average American expect to spend for a week of fun, sightseeing, and sex? Also, how easy or difficult is it for someone who has never been to Asia before and does not speak the language? thanks in advance for the input from all those who are "in the know".. PS.. also posting the same topics in the Europe forums about Prague and Barcelona.

This is not what you expect. I don't know if you have seen the series, but I think this is funny. Don't get put off by the opening. The fun starts around 1'15" but do try and watch it right through. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDNtzMUy4vs&feature=player_embedded

Hi, I'll be visiting these two countries in November, and would very much appreciate any info and recommendations about venues for action in: 1) Siem Reap: in general, and specifically reagrding MEN's hotel and Linga Bar/Spa. 2) Luang Prabang: in general, and specifically regarding Khob Chai Bar. 3) Vientiane. Thanks.

Bangkok, known as the City of Angels is the center of gay life in Asia. From bears to twinks to every shape size and age of man or boy in between, this the place to go if you want to show your pride, mingle with guys and find some hot exotic romance. Still Bangkok has much more to offer than just hot nights. This is a city with a rich culture and history; so you can dive into the local culture during the day, eat wonderful meals at night and make the most of your vacation. One of the most popular destinations is the Damnoen Saduak floating market. You can sample local food while an experienced guide will take you on a boat ride through the canals where you can purchase …

I've been visiting Thailand for um.... "a while" now, and would love to find a few alternate destinations. Is there a place an older man can still meet much younger guys without it being a financial relationship? I don't mind taking care of a new friend, but it's getting pretty bad, especially in Bangkok. I appreciate any tips, stories, or pictures *Email Adress Removed by Admin*

Some years ago I swore I would never take another Air Asia flight. I know others have had no problems with the airline, but I was fed up with many delays (lasting up to 12 hours in one case), cancellations and schedule-change rebookings. Over 50% of my 16 or so flights had been affected. Last November, however, I relented when friends came back from Hanoi and said I must make a trip. As Air Asia was in the middle of a free ticket sale, I booked a 3-day trip from June 9 to 12. The choice was between hideously early morning flights (which I loathe) and early evening ones. There was no discussion. I booked the evening ones. When airlines change schedules, they norma…

  17. Philippine Gay Party on Ballot for the First Time By Elizabeth Yuan, CNN May 9, 2010 (CNN) -- A gay political party will be on the ballot Monday for the first time in the Philippines, where eight out of 10 households are Roman Catholics. The elections will determine whether Ang Ladlad ("Out of the Closet") -- which represents lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender Filipinos (LGBT) -- will get the maximum three seats allowable for a marginalized or underrepresented party in Congress. "We consider it a milestone in Philippine human rights," said Leila De Lima, head of the Commission on Human Rights in the Philippines. "They are really always victims of d…

  19. The scene in Pattaya changes faster than the seasons change. Bars come and go like lightening. One week, a bar has a great group of boys and the next week, it is dead. There are a few staples of fine gogo entertainment in Pattaya. IMHO Funny Boys is the best run place in town. Great mamasan. Great dancers. Beautiful Staff. Soft Music. Clean Bathrooms. The place is run with class. Tonight, my friend Firecat and I wandered into several other places. One was the New Dynamite. This place has gone up and down but with more than 30 boys there tonight, it is defiantly on an uphill spiral. There were several cute guys and the drinks are reasonable. We then walke…

Sometimes you want to get it on with a man. Sometimes a girl seems like a good idea. Sometimes both have their own unique appeal. Gay or straight we all have a desire to try something a little different. That's what makes Thailand a great place to visit – you can literally have your boobs and eat cock too! Perhaps the most celebrated part of Thailand's gay culture are the famous "Ladyboys" that can be found in even the smallest rural villages. While Ladyboys are similar to Western transvestites, there are some huge cultural differences. The most important difference comes from Thai history and traditions. According to legends from Northern Thailand, the first man and …

  21. A Hostboy's Tale Chapter One: In The Village My story starts out years ago, when I still lived in the small village several hundred miles north of Bangkok. I grew up in a traditional Thai household. We did not have much money, but we were happy. Still, like many of my friends, I yearned for the excitement of the big city and the adventures that could be had there. How to make that happen, however, was not something I put much thought too. Education is expensive in Thailand and I knew my family would never be able to pay for the training that I would need to get a job in Bangkok or any of the beach resorts that have become so popular with the wealthy tourists who hav…

  22. Asian twink Beat is in his undies dancing and touching himself - just like he was a go-go boy dancing on the stage. His equally hot Thai twink friends Mos and Dew call round and bust him dancing in his undies so they just decide to make a threesome of it. It ends up being a tangle of sexy, naked, gay Asian boys' bodies as the boys clamber over each other to get to suck cock and have their cocks sucked. Soon Mos is wedged between Beat's and Dew's hard cocks as they compete for him to suck their dicks. Then Mos offers his little bubble butt up to Beat's cock and he rams Mos in the spit roast position. Saving the best to last the boys pile up into a fuck sandwich, one of th…

  23. This set features two energetic gay Thai twinks with loads of tattoos that can't get enough of slurping on each other's big Asian cocks. Mai's the more solid one and Gus is the super cute twink that every rice queen or sticky rice would love to sleep with. In the build up and preparation for a super raunchy energetic fuck, Mai rims and eats Gus's tight boy-hole with gusto. Mai eats Gus's hole even harder and Gus loves every second. His nipples perk and harden up with the almost orgasmic pleasure. But super cute twink Gus loves nothing more than having another boy's dick up his ass, and Mai obliges by energetically fucking him with his long Asian rod. Gus shifts round fu…

So far, there's been no post here about Bali for gay men and I was wondering if it would be worth my while to go for a holiday there since it already has two of the three things I must have on vacation - sun, sea, and sex. I've looked it up on the internet but the results haven't been encouraging. There's been little discussion about what's actually available for gay men, how much things (food, transport, etc.) are going to cost and how much my sinning is going to set me back. And since almost everything I've seen is costed in US$, it looks as if Bali is going to be much too expensive for someone like me who can afford at best US$150 a day for everything. There's lots ab…
