Tonight Twilight got off to a great start for the holiday weekend. By 9:30 Dreamboys was turning people away. Many of those customers went to X-Size and FreshBoys. They had full houses for their shows. Many boys offed tonight.
Maxis so full they were sitting in the aisles. At midnight a few people started to try to use water guns, but were shut down by much of the staff on the street. They were told to wait till tomorrow. It will be a financially successful weekend if the next couple of nights are anything like tonight. Lots of spending.

So, my plan is to summarize my last three days as there are only a few highlights.
 
Saturday, was March 17th, St. Patrick's Day for some folks and for lots of bars.  Van woke up late, we went to Chatachuk as I'd received a request for some gifts for home.  We have some lunch on Silom and then split for our own projects.  Mine is to use up another of my pre-[aid massages at Spa Bangkok.
 
Today's therapist is  named "Big"...well, he was tall.  Excellent massage, when we began, he asked if it was too warm telling me he was hot - he was referring to the temperature.  Massage begins with my being face down, when I turn over, he has stripped down to just his house branded shorts.  Not resistant to play and into HE.  As with my first massage at Spa Bangkok, BIg did not shower with me at the end.
 
On the way back to the hotel, I ran into Mac from SiamRoads, he had just finished a tour with a couple staying at the Meredian.  He said business was good and I promised to book him on my next trip.
 
Van returns about the time I get tot he  hotel and we head out to dinner.  Have no idea why, but we ended up at jenner in Silom Complex.  Definite mistake.
 
We head to Soi 4 with the idea of catching the show at Stranger Bar.  We are too early so we go to Jupiter.  By sow time, place is full but not packed.  A447's report captures how the show seemed to me, hula hoop guy was the star!  There is one guy who appeals to me but he is in the midst of a bidding way between two guys...not sure who won, other than the guy (#14) who received red notes from each.
 
After the show, Van and I get some street food, and head back to the hotel.
 
Sunday, up early, it's Van's last full night as he will leave Monday morning, after breakfast int he hotel we head to Taksin and catch a river fair to the end of the line and then a smaller boat to the Sia Noi floating market near Nonthamburi.  Nice break from the city and a decent lunch.
 
Take a small boat to Nonthamburi and a taxi from there back to the hotel.  Van heads out to pick up some things from a  friend that need to be taken to Vietnam.  I go to Prince for a foot/Thai combo.  After being brutalized, I feel fantastic.  
 
In my mind, I'm processing that there is a strong probability that when we say good bye tomorrow, it's likely I won't see Van again.  He has been a lucky talisman for me and my relationship to Thailand.  No question, we shall both survive and thrive (hopefully).
 
When he comes back, we head out to Balcony for the Sunday specials, while sitting there I see #14 from Jupiter and..no, it's a last night with Van.
 
Head to Maxi's as Van wants to say goodbye to PaulSF who is with FloridaRob.  Then to the hotel for time together.
 
Monday morning, Van and I shower together, he leaves at 9.  
 
I have breakfast and head out to MBK for some personal foot maintenance.  Then some wandering around, at some point I headed back to Spa Bangkok, looked at the pictures of who was available.  Today it will be "tan".  Shower alone and then full on assault by Tan who is naked during most of the massage and is fully engaged in pleasuring me.  Incredible.  Motto is to always trust DivineMadman's recommendations.
 
Back to the hotel, rest, then off to dinner with PaulSF...he is so connected to things, it is always fun to spend time with him.  I hea back to the hotel, double check my packing.  Head to Jupiter, off #14 shortly after he arrives.  Hotel...really cute body and willing and able...after my massage, I'm not so able...but a good time and a good way to finish this trip.
 
#14 departs and 20 minutes later, I'm in a taxi to BKK and Hong Kong Airways to HK, then after a 4 hour layover, United to SFO.
 
Walk into my home about 24 hours after I left the Tarntawan.

It's now Friday, when we eventually get out acts together, we spend some time catching up, Van is needing to use some of his time in Bangkok to learn how to service the sewing machines he has purchased for his sewing/manufacturing clothing business in Vietnam.  Fine my me as I want to have some massages and see what else will happen. As he is with me long time, I let him know up front that I'll take care of meals and will give him 3000 per night...but only at the end of the visit.
 
I haven't mentioned any of my other payments to the boys I've mentioned, but they have all been within the average amounts mentioned in the forum.
 
We head out to MBK and do some  bowling, then off on our separate ways.  I go to Banana as I like the place, greeted as an old friend(!)  It's mid afternoon, so there is a god selection of boys.  Up to the top floor for the lockers and showers.  My Thai boy showers with me, full service massage, I like the mirror that allows me to do some detailed observations.  I rate it a decent massage and a better than decent - but not exceptional - massage.
 
Make my way via BTS back to Twilight, dinner at Maxi's where there is a meeting of Forum members, PaulSF, Jason1975, and FloridaRob.  Van has texted me that  he's in the room.  When I finish up at Maxi's and wish Jason1975 a good journey home, I head to the hotel.  Van and I discuss going to StrangerBar, but decide to spend the time together in the room doing things we like (to one another).

I suppose we should all defer to DrimVoiz, who according to his posts went there once and has no connection to the bar, but at least in years past when Dreamboys was doing two full shows a night, Bangkok Boys was closed until the first Dreamboys show was over, then patrons would be escorted, drink in hand, down the back stairs where some guys would be on parade and coyotes dancing, while Dreamboys got a whole new audience in for its second show.  Now even when Dreamboys is full they do not open Bangkok Boys every night.  I believe it's only once or twice a week, but for high holidays like the upcoming Songkran maybe they will be reverting back to the old practice.
 
But as I said, I must defer to DrimVoiz who knows more than the rest of us.

I have been using it for a few months and like fedssocr find I am becoming more addicted to it than I ever was with jack/d, hornet and the others. Especially interesting is that the site is not only run out of Beijing, one of its investors is a state controlled media company. I have read that some guys can only get in on their phones. I can get it on both my phone and wireless-only iPad, although never together. But its odd that on the phone I get guys close to me in Thailand but on the iPad its only guys in China. With the latter the instant translation facility is pretty good.

It’s now Sunday, tomorrow I’ll be in Koh Samui, so time for some personal housekeeping, a trip to MBK – for me it an indoor version of an outdoor market.
 
Then off to Spa Bangkok – working on using up my four pre-paid massages.  Today, the masseur is Wit.  Very formal massage, very good massage, some touching allowed, but nothing more.  Wit does shower with me at the end.  I mention this later to DivineMadman who indicated that was a first as he hadn’t experienced anything similar.
 
We had met up at Maxi’s along with PaulSF.  I went off to DreamBoys!  I made a reference to this visit in another Forum Report expressing some unhappiness – and had a bit of feedback. 
 
I went up the stairs about ten minutes before the show was to start.  I seemed to be the only farang in the room, the club was about 50% full (Sunday night).  Almost everyone else was Chinese, 60% male, 40% female.
 
The pre-show parade of boys was taking place when I entered and I saw one or two that interested me.  However, what really caught my attention was happening in the Chinese male section where a boy was called over, usual discussion, and he went and got dressed.  When he returned, he found that his “sponsor” had found someone else and sent him back – I did not see a tip pass between them.  The boy complained to the mamasan who spoke with the Chinese group’s guide/leader)  Seemed to be seems argument which the mamasan did not win.  The guide had brought 40 or more to the club that night….
 
Later, one of the women decided she wanted to off the guy who was turned away, the mamasan brought him out, he saw she was with the guide and made an objection to the mamasan and walked away.  Very messy…
 
Decided, the vibe wasn’t right, so I went to the hotel and packed for my 6am departure.  Noting in my journal that while it was great to meet up with so many Forum members, my private activities had been a loss.
 
I was in Koh Samui for two days, celebrating a decades old friendship with friend from London, who had worked in Hong Kong for 15 years and bought a small beach side house which they have been enlarging and enhancing over the years.  Had a wonderful time.
 
The Samui airport reminded me of the Kona, Hawaii airport some years back with its openness to the breeze.  Bangkok Air flight full, after landing at BKK, I think  the plane parked as far away from the terminal as possible, then almost a 20 minutes bus ride.  It was still early, so I decided to try the airtrain to the BTS.  Thanks, Vinapu and others who have described it and its workings.  It was easy to navigate. 
 
Van had sent me a text in the morning that he’d be in Bangkok around the time I’d get back.  At about the same time PaulSF, who knows Van, knows that he used to work at HotMale, and knows that Van is a Viet, sent me a message that here had been a crackdown in Twilight and Soi 4 as well as where Screwboys was located to keep anyone not Thai from working. 
 
Some back and forth, Van arrives at the hotel with two very cute, yound Viets.  He had asked if they could join us for dinner – feed the hungry, I guess.  We went to Balcony where I learned the guys were looking for work in a gogo.  Van, always attentive and a bit of a procurer, asked me if I wanted to off one or both, I said no, tonight was with him.  I’m pretty sure that was what he wanted to hear.
 
We then went to Maxi’s.  Van didn’t think was any reason to worry about the police as he was on a real travel visa.  We both took out passport with us.  Me up with PaulSF and Jason1975 and had a good time catching up with what had taken place over the three days I’d been away.  PaulSF and Van checked in on what had happen to several of the Viet boys who had worked in the “business”.  Van called one on Facetime who was in Vietnam so I could say hello. 
 
Jason1975 mentioned the clubs he’d been to…I recommend his reports.  We talked a bit about Moonlight.  We also learned that the police crackdown wasn’t just of the male go go’s but also shut down the women’s businesses.  Reader would report later that guys were exiting one massage parlor through the back windows when the police arrived at the front door.
 
Tonight seemed pretty tame…there were a number of Viet boys around paying tribute to PaulSF and saying hello to Van.
 
I ask Van if he wanted to see the show at Hot Male and say hello to his former mamsan, he was up for it so off we went saying good night to PaulSF and Jason 1975.
 
As I mentioned much earlier in my reporting, when I’d been at Hot Male for the other night, I was very interested in one of the coyotes, but he had been offed.  Didn’t see him when we arrived, but he was in the first number when the show began, he was then called to sit with someone.  Damn!  So, while the show was underway, I kept one eye on the stage and the other on #010.  At some point, his “host” gave him some baht and left.  #010 went back to the stage.  I asked the mamasan to call him over, after being assured that he was Thai, gay, and did everything.
 
Van, is amused, reminding me I’d passed on his friends a few hours back. 
#020 comes over and is tall, swimmer’s build, kisses with his hello.  We negotiate, then I negotiate with Van.  He’s fine, he’ll hang out at Hot Male and visit, then head to the hotel and play on the internet in the lobby until I give the ok to come up.
 
#020 gets dressed and we head to the hotel.  Best way to describe it without too much detail is that it was a really great encounter.  He did do everything, and I did as much, and a bit more than I thought possible.
 
At some point showered and I waked him to the hotel lobby and said goodnight.  Van then joined me and we went upstairs.
 
My second visit to Bangkok was off to a very fine start.

Just to be Clear.  I have no problem you posting as many personal experiences you have at any Bar.  However when the posts keep showing up in multiple threads where most of the post is once again a listing of various prices, that is when it looks to be promotion of a Bar.
 
So on your next trip I would hope you would start your report and continue to post new information in that thread as your trip unravels. No need to post prices more then once in the new thread. That way any new visitor will be informed of the current price structure .

I thought, I will jump in too and provide my insights as I will soon be visiting these places in a less than 2 months.
 
Dream Boys – Man, they are keep raising their prices, last I visited, price for the entry was 400 Bhat and same goes for the drinks. Glad to know offing fees hasn’t changed.
Now about boys, quite agree they have variety and for me this place seems to work all the time (many versatile guys who are willing to bottom, a big plus)
 
500 bhat seem little expensive and will have an impact on their customer base, though since Soi will be closing soon, I will definitely return to this place at least once if not more.  
 
Jupiter – Great shows, decent price, though from boys perspective this bar didn’t work for me, had a  mixed experience from offing but since most of the boys are top, it kinda restricts the option for people like me.
Also if you are newbie or not so much experienced like I am, use caution while following Captain or mamassan’s advice, this place is no different and they would say everything you would like to hear and this might lead into disappointment later on,  I had my lesson learnt and thanks to Vinapu and DM’s expert advice on this forum, I learned a lot, amended my mistakes to ensure I have a good time during my stay.
 
Moonlight aka. Boy 666 -  I would recommend this place to everyone, had a really nice experience, this bar does deserve at least one time visit if not more.
 
Captains are really good and not too pushy, provide you decent information though you need to use your own brain and ensure you discuss with the boy beforehand.
 
Had a quite good offing from this bar last time 2 days in a row, sometime they have quite a newbie’s (new boys) and if you’re nice enough the experience could be quite rich and exciting (I am yet to write that review).

I arrived at Suwanaphumi around 11:30 am. Along the way to Immigration I managed to get past a number of Chinese tour groups but when I reached the entry my heart sank. There were at least 6 more groups ahead of me.
 
Damn! I'll never get out of here.
 
My spirits were lifted - actually, they positively soared - when I saw a sign stating that Immigration now has a "vision." Thank god for that. Their "vision" will save the day!
 
But they appear to have developed cataracts. If they really had a vision they'd be dispatching immigration officers up to Chinese airports to process the tourists before they arrive. Either that, or create a dedicated immigration area for them. But TIT so this just continue on as per usual.
 
They also have a new mission statement, represented by the letters S.M.A.R.T.
Each letter stands for something but the writing was too small to be read by anyone without a telescope. That may have been deliberate, because if we could read it, they would have to actually carry out the mission. Best keep it hidden.
 
It took over an hour to get through. Only half the booths were manned. But luckily, many of the tour group members seemed disorganised and were standing aside filling in their immigration forms, thus allowing others to get past them.
 
Against my better judgement I decided to take a taxi into town instead of the train - I figured at 1pm there shouldn't be a lot of traffic. At first the wasn't, and the driver was able to slam it into first gear and put his foot down. But once out of the taxi zone we ran straight into a massive traffic jam.
 
It took over an hour to reach Silom.
 
My guy was patiently waiting for me at the hotel and we want straight up to the room after check-in and got down to business. He wasn't in town during my last visit so it's been 6 months since we last met. We had a lot of lost time to make up and he put in a remarkable performance. He was perhaps spurred on by the fact that as soon as he entered the room I gave him a bottle of his favourite eau de toilette. After we'd finished and showered he gave me a nice squirt - the second for the day! LOL
 
Tonight I went to the show at Moonlight, which has opened in the old Jupiter Bar off Suriwong.
 
After buying a 400 baht drink ticket at the entrance I was ushered to my seat. The bar was quite full, but not with Chinese women as I had expected, but with Asian men.
 
I arrived as the first show was in full swing. Six muscle guys were showing off their bodies but to be honest, only two look as though they'd seen the inside is a gym. Nothing to see here.
 
The next act consisted of about 20 guys "dancing.". Now these guys are all 100% straight - no fems here - and we know straight guys can't dance to save themselves. They were uncoordinated, awkward and self-conscious but it was really very entertaining. You don't need cock to be entertained. (I can't believe I just wrote that!) They were all having a great time on stage together, laughing and joking their way through the dance sequence, and that's what made it so refreshing and entertaining.
 
This was followed by a guy from China who appeared on stage in high heels and bondage gear. He was a pole dancer, and a very skilled one at that. But he was rather unattractive and the heavy make-up couldn't hide a face pock-marked by acne. Most unfortunate.
 
Still no cock. But never fear, we now had a stripper on stage. And right at the end we got a glimpse of his large appendage.
 
The last act was the big cock show.
 
After the show only 5 guys came back on stage; I'm guessing all those others just do the show. Although they are my type, I didn't find them in any way attractive. In fact, I only saw one guy I'd describe as handsome and he was sitting with a customer. The boys were ill-fitting red shorts which do them no favours.
 
At one stage I turned around to find that the customers who had been sitting behind me had all left - I was one of 5 still in the bar, so with that I got up and left.
 
I like the layout of the bar; it's quite small and compared to the Soi Twilight bars, I found it very intimate.
 
But I don't think I'll be back.
 
I walked past Soi Twilight to and from Moonlight, and given that it was a Saturday night, the crowd was very disappointing. For the first time I could stand at the head of the soi and get a clear view of Classic Boys.

Willie Willie mentioned the reward of being persistent when it comes to attracting boys you have the hots for.
 
During my recent trip I called at a Complex bar at about 6.30 for a coffee and to unwind after returning from a visit to the Tony gym in Pattaya. The bars were just getting going but I had no designs about boys, but one arrived at a neighbouring bar, who looked really hot. I looked in his direction and smiled a couple of times but received no response, so I went back to the Zing for my customary nap, reading an online newspaper and replying to emails. I kept thinking about the boy so at about nine I went to his bar but was disappointed to see him and another sat with two farangs. I sipped a beer for some time but the group showed no sign of breaking up, so I decided to go to BT to have another drink and visit a Gogo in the hope of offing a substitute. This did not happened so I returned to the Complex by motorbike. I suddenly saw my target just sat talking to other boys, so I through caution to the wind and offered him a drink, even before sitting down. He accepted and sat with me on a settee after getting the drinks. I asked him for a long time off which to my delight he accepted and went back with me to the Zing after chatting together with the occasional kiss.
My persistence was rewards by a top performance in bed which was repeated the next two nights.

"VCK Cool Space" is the rebranded name of the former V Club 7.  It's on Soi Ari 4, about a 5-10 minute walk from the Ari BTS station.  It's connected to Chakran Sauna.  (Chakran has a reputation for being not particularly welcoming of farang.  I can't confirm that, but beware.  However, I certainly felt welcomed at the massage shop.)  They are active on Line.  website    
 
I am 100% sure VCK has it's fans.  It just happens I'm not one of them.  I used to live in the neighborhood and really tried to make a go if it.  I keep trying, but it's just not for me.
 
The good news is that they've spent a bit of time and money renovating the sauna and the lounge area.  Now you enter in the front through the same entry as the sauna, and you will get ushered into the lounge/bar area.  The back of the room is a tiered area where the guys are there for your selection.  On a weeknight at about 6:00 there were 10-12 guys.  All about mid-20s to early 30s.  Not a twink in sight.  Some shirtless, some not.  I had previously booked a guy on Line.  The booking was handled efficiently if ultimately unproductively because the guy I booked didn't go in to work that day.  An hour or so ahead of time I was informed of that and picked a different guy, no less attractive.
 
Now for the bad news - the room/house charge for a basic room is comparable to other high-end shops, but the minimum tip is substantially higher.  ABOUT 30% HIGHER.  Tip for a 90 minute massage at Prince is 1,500.  At VCK it's 2,000.  (Basic room is 950.  At Prince it would be 1,100 for a slightly larger room.)  I think the minimum tip for 1 hour at Prince is 1,200 and at VCK it's 1,500 - so 25% more at VCK (!!!).
 
When I made the 90 minute selection I looked the manager in the eye and asked him if he was sure the guy I had picked could really do a 90 minute massage, and he said yes.  Aaaaaaaaaargh.
 
Getting to the actual massage room is a hike with lots of stairs.  Because the whole thing is jumbled up with the sauna, it's a bit of maze to get to the room.  The rooms are perfectly functional with a pad on a slightly elevated "bed" that completely fills it's little nook.  There's a mirror on the wall and a nice shower.
 
Shower alone before and after.  Long long wait after getting showered for the guy to get back to the room to start the massage.  Naked throughout.  The massage was pretty much the definition of mediocre.  Wasn't horrible.  Was not good.  Very soft. A bit of contortion stretching which is ok but just wasn't done really right.  I think this is the sort of massage you get from guys who learn by watching a couple of youtube vids and maybe, just maybe, get a lesson or two.  Halfway through the guy took another bathroom break (that's an observation, not a complaint)..  Then flip over, a little bit of leg work and an ok happy ending.

The guy was very cute.  Naked throughout.  Nice personality.  Didn't use too much oil.  All good.
 
The bad is the massage was barely mediocre and I was out on the street in 65 minutes.  After showering, long wait for him to start, then showering and dressing and getting out, that left about 45 minutes max for the massage.  And this is very much consistent with the other times I've been there.  
 
(Yes of course I could get out my watch and tell him no another 30 minutes, but he had exhausted his repertoire of limited massage skills and, frankly, why hang out when you know he thinks he's done.)  
 
If the shop charged less than the others, I probably wouldn't mind.  But if you are going to charge a premium price, then you have to offer better services.  It has to be a good massage, or -- as far as I am concerned -- a mediocre but enthusiastic massage for the full time.  I don't expect these guys to be great.  But you can't be mediocre and short-change.  Here the charge was 30% more than Prince, but I've never felt so quite short-changed at Prince.  
 
Because I had specifically mentioned the 90 minutes to the manager, and got his assurances, I sent the manager a Line message pointing out how short the massage was.  He couldn't be bothered to answer.  A simple answer like "Ooops, we'll make sure you get the full 90 minutes next time" is all he needed to do.  But no.  (This also makes me wonder if my original so-called booking (no show) was just a fake.  But that's just speculation.)  So the manager's good at booking but not really at follow up.  And had he followed up with me, I probably wouldn't written this review, or would have given it a different spin.  Or, all he had to do when asked is say that the guy is better for just a 60 minute massage, and I would have done that and been happy as a clam.
 
A more pleasant example to the contrary:  The other day I was over at Sanctuary Spa and was making my selection and we had narrowed it down a bit and I mentioned to the manager that I really wanted to be sure the guy could give a good 90 minute massage.  He thoughtfully changed his recommendation and the guy turned out to be great.  He knew that some of his guys might not have the skills for 90 minutes, and because he's a pro and wants his customers happy, he actually took it into account.  
 
Every time I go back to this place I have the same negative experience there.  Now that they have raised their prices to be so much more expensive than any of the other shops - and still providing crappy mediocre service - I just give up on the place.  Skip it.  

The other day I had great visit to Sanctuary Spa by A in Bangkok.  It's another of the smaller/mid-size shops.  Good massage.  Great masseur.  Fantastic time.  Highly recommend.
 
Sanctuary Spa is in one of the City Court buildings just of Rama 4.  https://goo.gl/maps/wAfN1LRc9bm  There are a couple of other massage shops in the same overall complex(Candle T; Sabaidee).  To get to those other shops you enter the garage/car park and they are on the right.  To get to Sanctuary Spa you go past the garage entrance (as you are coming from Rama 4) and take the first side street on the right.  The entrance to the shop is on the right.  There's a sign.  You walk through a jungle-like agglomeration of plants, which is cute and certainly makes the place a bit more discreet.
 
I had not booked ahead.  7:30 on a weeknight (of a holiday week), there were about 7-8 guys available.  Around the same time I showed up two local customers were also there.  I think that is the typical customer base, although clearly foreigners are 100% welcome.  You select from photos on a phone.  All good looking different types.  I would say all mid-to-late 20s, but really, who can tell.  The shop regularly updates who is available on Line.  Line ID sanctuaryspa    
 
The very nice calm manager (A?) was more than happy to say who was "man/top," etc.  That wasn't the most important thing on my mind, and I had forgotten my glasses, so the photos were a bit of a blur.  Following the old rule for selecting wine, I chose the second to last photo.  The rooms are very clean and modern.  A bit on the smaller side.  Very nice large shower and sink in the room.  Linens very nice.  Nothing shabby or run down about this place at all.
 
I showered (alone), waited a bit for the masseur.  As so often happens, he was better looking than I expected.  Masseur fully clothed.
 
I have a pretty standard routine for new shops.  90 minute aroma/oil.  It's easy to fill a 60 minute massage time.  90 minutes the real skill comes out.  I just go with the flow, let him take the lead and enjoy.  I think the real downside of micromanaging a massage is that it takes him off his stride.  This is particularly true with someone who is new to me.  After the first time I think they are more comfortable and know me a bit and it's easier to say "less here--more here."  
 
There was possibly a little too much time on the calves, which is the curse of 90 minute massages.  I almost said "enough already" but he moved on.  After the lengthy calf rubdowns everything was much better and more balanced so I am very happy that I didn't say anything.  Really, really happy.
 
The massage was not rushed at all and then the masseur expertly and aggressively moved to the special stuff.  Just great.  I was actually a little bit surprised.  The guy was either a really voracious sexual animal or one of the greatest actors of our time.  Oh, to be young again.
 
90 minute aroma/oil is 900 baht.  (60 minutes/90 minutes/120 minutes = 600/900/1,200 baht, I believe).  I asked and the minimum tip is 600 for regular.   For "special" it's 1,000 baht.  Comparable to similar shops.  You can buy a pack of five 90 minute massages for 3,500, which brings the cost down to a very nice 700 baht each.  Of course I did that.

Sightseeing
 
As I was staying in Hua Hin for only a three nights I decided that to get the best out of it I would hire services of a guide named the Suphot to bring me around me for a day. (People who read the other main board might recognise the name as the partner of one of the posters there, Smiles)

First step was the  Mrigadayavan Palace, the summer palace of Rama VI. It is a few miles north of town. An unusual design, very Thai.
 
Then we went to Monkey Mountain (Khao Takiab Hill),  a few miles south of town (right beside where the ferry gets in actually). Has a Buddhist wat on a hill with good views all  around and also, as the name suggest, swarms of monkeys.

Then headed for Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, stopping off at a place Suphot suggested for lunch. Aimed at locals, with a menu in Thai only, it is the sort of place I never would have stepped in if I wasn’t with him I got a really nice lunch of pork and rice for something like 40 baht.

I had told Suphot I was interested in seeing the Phra Nakhorn cave, within the bounds of the park. I had read about it, it is famous for having a one hundred year old Buddhist Pavilion built right inside the cave.  But  had not realised how much of a rigmarole was involved. First we entered the National Park which was 100 Baht for me in 40 for Suphot. Then to get to the cave we had to on a boat around a headland to get to a beach nearer it. This involved walking out into the waves to hop into to a long-tail boat that brings you in five minutes around to the beach then go to up the path to the cave. That cost 400 baht return.

I had read somewhere that this was half an hour away from the beach. But I didn’t realise until I was on it that it is 30 minutes of a steep climb up steps to the cave mouth, and then you go quite steeply downhill again to get to the pavilion.

You need a to have a good level of mobility to manage it. But I was all worth it when I got  to the chamber  in the cave with stunning view of the pavilion in the middle of the cave as sunlight streams in from he collapsed roof.

After that it was on the way back to town, with a quick stop off at Rajabhakti Park to say hello the 7 humongous statues of the old Thai kings that the Thai military has installed as a rather bombastically nationalist new tourist attraction just south of Hua Hin.

All on all a very good day. I would enthusiastically recommend Suphot as a to anybody who is looking for a guide around Thailand. Also does multi-day trips for people who want to see other parts of the country . I have been a lurker here since the fall of last year planning this trip and want to thank everyone that posted about their advice and experiences, all of the suggestions were spot on!  I thought I should return the favor so here is a bit about my visit and descent into decadence.
 
I visited Chiang Mai during Christmas for 8 days and had an absolute blast.  The sights, sounds, the food, and the AWESOME people I met during my stay were everything I expected and much more.  It was very easy and inexpensive to get around the city and I primarily used Uber and Grab.  I stayed at The Prestige near Maya Mall and the staff were extremely nice and I had ZERO issues having a guests over for fun on multiple occasions with no surprise joiner fees when I checked out.

Now the reason behind using offer or offering word, first in most of the situation it doesn’t refer to “Off fee” or “Bar fine”, usually I use offer word to show my interest in someone and put an offer for him to either accept or reject. Though there might be instances where I would have used this word interchangeably.
