Kazakhstan appears to be a gift to Russia so it wouldn't feel completely ignored.

    From Pattaya News

The Thai government’s free-visa policy for Chinese and Kazakhstani tourists has been endorsed in the Royal Gazette and published on Tuesday, September 19th.

The policy, which will take effect from September 25th to February 29th, 2024, will apply to visitors from China and Kazakhstan as announced by the Royal Gazette.

The tourists from the mentioned countries will be exempted from stamping and are allowed to stay within the kingdom of Thailand for a period not exceeding thirty days, as a special case.

Oh, so it’s just on a limited time frame that could be extended. It is similar to the time when visa exemption was extended to 45 days.

it would have been great if they did it as well again, either 45 or better yet the 90 days as initially suggested.

They are slowly introducing this method of payment in Japan, too.

It would really be helpful as at least in Tokyo, they’ve suspended selling the stored value cards due to supply chain issue on electronic chips. These IC is extremely convenient for the metro and for purchases.

The new PM is talking about allowing everyone with a visa exemption to stay 90 days instead of 30 in an effort to boost tourism. I don't know how many tourists are able to even stay for 30 days let alone 90, but for retirees who want to stay for longer periods it would be good depending on how often you can do it

This would be excellent even if I won’t count on it. There was recently the 45 day visa exempt post Covid and they didn’t even extended it.
Anyway, personally, this is a perfect solution for me as I decided to pre retire elsewhere in Asia while frequently visiting Thailand. I was looking for a way to spend 2-3 months for a couple of times and there are no easy solution except perhaps the 60 day outright visa.
the retirement extension O A was the best option until they imposed an insurance requirements among other things.
in any case, I’ll just go for frequent <30 days travel for now. I’m also visiting a lot of other Asian countries so it is fine as it is.
However, in the future, my heart is set on just going to Thailand and Japan.
Ironically, Japan gives me 90 day stay on each arrival. However, it’s economically unfeasible for me to stay there that long. If only I can flip the rules of the 2 countries 😂

If you have return ticket it shouldn't be a Problem to receive another visa on arrival but if you do it too many times in calendari year the Thai immigration can refuse to let you in.

Just to be pedantic, sorry. A lot of western and neighboring Asian countries do not need visa on arrival In Thailand. It is 14-90  days visa exempt. Most gets the 30 days as I suppose it’s due to a bilateral agreement with each of them.

Notable countries needing visa on arrival are China and India. They immediately pay some fees coming to Thailand.

Some of the lucky countries getting 90 days visa exempt are South Korea, Brazil and Argentina.

There is no younger crowd. The ones that do come can find their fun in normal venues.
Without a fast revamp of the boy bar scene, it will die with the old timers.

I’ve seen young Asian groups in Jupiter and moonlight. They can just go on in the runway and strut their stuff with the other boys. I’d take most of them too. Cute as hell 😂

  6. I’ve seen YouTube shorts interview of gay lads

    Interviewer: are you a Twink?

guy: oh no, not anymore. I’m already 25.

interviewer: oh so where do you go from here? A cub?
guy: (flippantly) I dunno, maybe  I’ll go to Italy

anyway, is twink age bound as well? 😂

  7. Thanks for the article, reader. I was hoping for a better news but not surprised if it will not be extended. Agree with the article, they might not really need this anymore as the tourists are back, and due to the coming elections.

I’m going for a year of sabbatical or perhaps pre retirement and the 45 day visa would have been very convenient.

  8. BTS and all other interconnected mass transport options are excellent alternative transport. Fast, relatively cheap, and not as crowded. Those who’ve ever tried mass transport in manila or Delhi would know how riding one could be intimidating.

Has any of you remember Bangkok pre-BTS/MRT? It’s actually prettier with wide roads and no blocked views. Bus 76 and 77 are a staple.

Thank you Ryan and reader for reaction but I added to the post after those so read again if you wish.

Wish I am going there tomorrow. It was between Bangkok and Tokyo, but ultimately had to take advantage of a weak yen before it all goes up.
but really would have preferred BKK, as I still crave for warmer temperature.

Hmm I wonder was that me ! :)   This as I was visiting Sunsuk on a very warm late afternoon / early evening for some fun ( and so was only wearing a towel of course as is the norm there).

So, after a while lying on the chairs downstairs and as it WAS so warm I fancied a dip in the pool, so got up and quietly slipped into the water for a while without any fuss.  On leaving the water and returning to my sunbed I was aware of being on the end of multiple dirty looks from two old guys lying on sunbeds quite a distance away from me and after a while it became annoying so I shouted down  'WHAT, what seems to be your problem?" to which I got lectured about how "you weren't allowed to be naked in the pool or at the chairs" and how it was unacceptable and I should stop it etc.

Being that we WERE sitting in a gay sauna and we all knew why we were there ( and it wasn't to sunbathe) I thought "no, fuck you mate" and called the manager over who rolled his eyes  in the direction of the complainers and confirmed loud enough that they could hear and "no sir, it's absolutely fine here, enjoy your swim".

Needless to say I carried on until they left, never failing to be amazed how some gays are SO repressed that they seem to forget where they are and what they are usually doing there, meanwhile my swim and early evening dip was lovely ! :)

I would add before i get commended as uncaring rude and obviously unaware of social rules of society that I literally was slipping in and out of the water for a quick dip, nothing more.  Not like I was running about the place flailing my arms and swinging my dick in the hope of some action !  ( that was later upstairs probably lol)

PS to the OP - should you ever find yourself in mainland Spain and close to Barcelona etc, there's a quite small but lovely gay nudist beach to be found in Sitges, whilst not 100% "gay" being Sitges it might as well be of course and has many handsome guys in attendance usually! :)

We got 2 naked sightings now. I saw a guy who exercised in the nude in the small gym, then lounged in the pool area afterwards. And agree, it would really be great if it becomes popular to sunbathe nude anywhere in Thailand.

Reading your reply to my post about visiting Maspalomas. It makes me think about making another visit next rather than going to Pattaya again. I’ve not been there for 21 years but you say that on the excellent beach, Kiosk 7 is still attracting gays as are numerous hotels and apartments near the yumbo centre.  The beach at Kiosk 7 was my favorite daytime rendezvous for meeting others. Sometimes more than meeting, I enjoyed flirting and occasionally going into the dunes for sex, although you had to watch out for the cops. Commercial sex like in Thailand did not happen, as far as I remember ie no gogos / host bars and of course then, there were no apps.

My go to winter vacation has always been Thailand. However, last year when there were still so many rules, and closures in most of Asia, I kinda looked for the easiest to go to, with warmest EU enclave accessible from the continent. I learned about Gran Canaria and the gay lifestyle here. I’m back this year as I was looking at airfares to Thailand and it was still way over the norm.
it’s still a fun place here in maspalomas, and what you mentioned still holds true. Btw, kiosk 7 bar and transats were closed last year even if there are a lot of bathers in the area. it is open now, so quite back to normal now. Lots of eye candies, then and now. Also, the gay exclusive bungalows is so nice where you can hang everything out 😂

However, I love Asian lads so, definitely coming this year to Thailand again.

When I first travelled to Pattaya as a gay tourist 21 years ago, I had previously spent holidays on the Spanish island of Gran Canaria specifically at the resort of Maspalomas where nude sunbathing was accepted on one section of the beach which was popular amongst the gay community including myself ( I would say that in those days I definitely had the body for it which is not the case now)
During my first visit to Pattaya I discovered the gay Dongtan beach but was disappointed to find that the dress code was beach wear. Making enquirers I found that being naked outdoors was not in the Thai culture, so I never tried it. I did wear a Lycra thong a couple of times on the beach but got quite a few disapproving looks. Even at the Sansuck gay sauna I never saw any nudism round the pool.

I am currently in maspalomas. There is still the gay beach area, kiosk 7. A long way to go. I’m in a gay resort where 90 % are naked around the pool so much better and convenient.
btw, I just had one time saw a fully nude guy in sansuk pool side. A westerner, obviously.

I just wish there’s some similar gay exclusive resort that allows nudity in Thailand.

I'm sure there was a hotel accommodation there too? Maybe I'm wrong

I stayed in their accommodation before. It is a relaxing stay. the breakfast is nice early in the morning facing the pool/garden.
added bonus is that the sauna is included in the stay. It isn’t that far from boystown.

  14. I’m Asian living my dream of staying somewhere in Europe. I extensively traveled the continent and beyond.

Recent years before Covid, I just keep on coming back to Asia particularly Thailand and Japan, other favorites are Taiwan and South Korea. When I was younger, I thought I’d never retire in Asia. However it most likely be where I will retire. Most likely In Thailand or my home country. I’m doing a sabbatical break next year for a trial retirement and if I like it, I’ll just continue it.
Just turned 50 so the retirement extension of stay in Thailand is possible now. Staying at home country though, has the advantage of finding work easily if I like to do so. apart from family and friends I have there.

Oh, and I never liked winter season and even if I like to do early retirement say in Spain, it is quite costly as my preference would be Barcelona.

    2023 specifically:

1 month in Thailand, 3 weeks Japan (separate trips)

*being a nicer person on the internet

Hell no - why would I want to do that ?  I prefer to pay so I can be as selfish as I want.  Seems to work because the providers prefer clients that know what they want, communicate clearly and tip accordingly.  Everybody is happy.  The biggest misconception about paid services is because that’s the only way you can get it.  Tell that to Alex Rodriguez, Hugh Grant & Eddie Murphy

    Double post…

Copy paste the the trip part. Never stayed longer than 2 weeks in either country.

even better if I can do 2 months in Thailand and 1 month in Japan. I’m doing sabbatical leave next year 😀
