I only ever bother coming here anymore. And I think I had accounts on most of the ones listed.
My guess is that people don't read. And they don't necessarily feel like communicating via this medium. Given how many Youtube channels are devoted to travel if you are just looking for general travel info there are plenty of places to get that info. And probably other media like Instagram or Tiktok get lots of views.
The nomadicboys can only cover so much on their own since they can only visit so many hotels I wouldn't expect them to have comprehensive lists or complete venue information.
I know most people don't like travelgay.com but I've found it useful from time to time. Keeping venue listings up to date would be a big job probably without much reward. Which is part of why I really appreciate this place and the frequent posters who share information with all of us.

It's a different era now with much more specialization. There's a niche for everyone. Today's megastars like Taylor Swift will continue on for a while. But she'll be a billionaire if she isn't already so there might not be as much urgency to keep going. I'd image that Mick and the boys have more money than they'll ever need too - and certainly Paul McCartney is beyond wealthy. I wonder if the fact that it took them a good while to get that wealthy makes a difference. But I suppose once you have performed so many huge shows it probably gets to be a bit of an addiction.

3 bars just pants, 1 bar fully dressed. As far as go-go goes I wonder how long it will last. I don't mind paying 400-500 for drink to look at boys in jeans but only once per trip to see what's going on.
I wonder if perhaps it's the British version of "pants" not the N. American version of "pants"

Excellent! Thank you. I will definitely do this. Do you tip the driver?
That's a good question. If I have the cash in small enough denomination I will tip a little. But I don't think it's expected unless they're schlepping a lot of luggage for you. I usually give them my credit card in advance on the form so they just charge the ride to that.

I kind of like this idea. In my advanced years I really don't want to argue with anyone. When I first started going to BKK, there was no expressway and no meter taxis, so it was always a hassle. May I ask how you book a car service in advance?
I just book on the website. splimousine.com They have a web form you can fill out. They give you the location of their staff at the airport. They'll have a paper with your name on it big enough to see as you walk up. The lady who runs the operation radios for the car and walks you out to the curb and you hop in and go. I usually book a week or so in advance of my trip

I have some gay friends in Texas. But I wouldn't want to live there either. I can see the argument about changing a place from within...the whole idea that progressives should move to the "red" states and take them over. But I don't know that I personally have the energy for it.

I have a young Indian friend here who is a university student. He spent his summer back home in India interning at the Supreme Court in relation to this issue. I'll have to send him a note.

A Chromebook is a laptop form factor, but instead of running Windows or MacOS it runs ChromeOS. Most of what you do is in the Chrome web browser but you can also install Android apps and use those. I use mine mostly for basic web surfing, email and some YouTube viewing. There is a wide range of prices and hardware specs. My current Chromebook is from Asus but it was more of a high end choice. As noted HP, Acer, Lenovo, and Samsung are all in the Chromebook game.

Depending what you need to do, you might consider a Chromebook. I am using one at this very moment. For things like web surfing and email it's plenty.
The brand you linked to I have never heard of. The processor is also fairly low power. But if you aren't doing anything too intensive it might be fine.

- Plenty of guys and eye candies but not offable
- Nothing illicit. Just a natural high
Worth it? I would say give it a try at least once
Maybe not "offable" in the traditional sense, but you never know.
I am a total sucker for tall building observation decks. On my last visit I chose an Airbnb at Ashton Chula partly for the high floor pool deck views which did not disappoint.

Perhaps he was distracted by his stage performance beforehand

Exactly, that's more of what I had in mind. I haven't seen any reports recently of gays being dragged out of their bedrooms though

I would imagine you have to be more careful in those types of ultra-religious places though

even most independent hotels I stay in now have online booking available as well. I just booked a place in Ubon Ratchatani by the Lao border that offered easy online booking. Granted it's a more upscale place so maybe they have to do it for their clientele. But unless you're staying in a very rustic place you should find online booking. There are lots of little chains in Thailand that are not the big internationals as well.

Whenever we hear about this sort of senseless killing, lawmakers in the USA - and perhaps in Thailand, too, for all I know - target mental health and the need for much more vigilance in finding and treating those who might be in danger of using guns. Many such murderers obviously have psychiatric problems, but this to me is a huge cop out when it is the proliferation of guns that is the root cause of the problem. How does any law enforcement agency identify a young person intent on murder? How do parents monitor their teenage children's activities on the internet? How many parents are bothered even to think about doing that? Even if they were aware that their child was harbouring 'dark thoughts', would they report that child? After all, it could indicate that as parents they have not brought their child up properly? How many school children think about contemporarites who are loners or who betray anti-social traits? And so the questions go on - and the killings never stop.
They talk about mental health, but they don't actually do anything about it, because that's the difficult part
