Happy to report that I landed in my happy place this past Friday after a year's absence and also recently worked out that this is my 10th trip to Thailand. Plane touched down at 15:30, lots of people at immigration and by the time I was done, my suitcase was already at the luggage carousel. I am thinking about a change of hotel on my next visit to Bangkok, I have often used the Rose which is fine but the rooms are a bit small and basic, I also like Tarntawan but expensive for what it is. I am thinking about the Pinnacle or Malaysia hotels, the Malaysia looks to have some nicer rooms in a newer block, does anyone have any recent experience of them and is there any issue if I book a double brining the odd friend back on an evening?

Arrival at airport on a Friday evening was mad! Many arrivals, mostly from European countries. Long queues. I had to wait 45 minutes. It's been raining continuously over the last 72 hours and schools have asked parents to pick their kids up and have been closed for the last two days. Hatyai's six rivers/canals are slowly filling up. Two friends and their families are staying with me right now and a third is on the way.
