how you survived 4 years in the wilderness I wonder

It has been tough but thanks to your reports and Reader's eagle eye I've had a vital voyeur's insight into honing my visit.  I've been in touch with Moses (SiamRoads) to have super guide Mac update me on the geographic changes when I arrive on May 14th.

  2. Somehow it comes down to one's personality type.  Some of us want everything in order when we travel.  Others, like a friend in California will pack skis and a surfboard when he leaves as he can't make up his mind what he want to do.  My sense is enjoy the trip.

I would note - in case some rules come out of this topic...if you are arriving in the middle the night (pre-dawn) it is a good thought to book the first night if nothing else.  Example, international flight arrives 5AM.  Book a room for the night before so you can access the room when you get to the hotel.

  3. Being an avid reader of Reader's posts, i got caught up in this "conversation" and never having heard of 15M decided to google it.  The "g" had little but did send me to Twitter where 15M Massage @boybk12345 can be found.  Photos of the massage artists are included and info on gay/straight/non-straight (whatever that means) was shown.  There is also a reference in some of the photos to 27M Massage  (I found it when glancing at the photo of Dumbbell Gay).  Don't have time right now to go down that rabbit hole.

  4. There's a fast track for arrivals and for departures.  For departures follow the monks.  For arrivals, there is the advice above to follow the airline uniforms, there is also a separate entrance located between the to main arrival areas near to where the visa on arrival area is prior to the immigration halls.

  5. Remembering last stay just before Covid the back rooms especially on the lower floors were dark from minimum sun.  Since then the Quarter Hotel has opened which should block out light on the upper floors.  Floridarob is a long time Tarntawan-er and I respect his judgement so now I might consider a return as long as its on the front.

  6. Friday late afternoon airport arrival.  Ugh!  Vinapu's info on taking the train are spot on.  I've used them more than once and will again in December.  The Raya is very very close to the Sala Daeng station.

  7. When going to Bangkok or Pattaya, I will post my dates in the forum and ask if anyone will be in town when I am in Thailand.  While the number of members I've met doesn't total near as many as @vinapu, it is enough to have made for many interactions, some looking for spies at now gone Madrid pizza.  It's been fun to be with @vinapu and @spoon as they tend to look for companions slightly different than my searches.

  8. I've changed my trip plans to align my time in Bangkok with the visits of some other forum members.  I am now booked round trip on Eva with a stop on Taipel in each direction.  It is the fastest way by several hours to transit the Pacific.  M original booking wasn't on Eva as a 48 hour covid test was required for transit passengers.  That requirement was dropped as of July 14th.

I will be going economy using 84,000 miles/points  for the round trip.  That prices the trip at approximately  $1,100 based on a value of 1.3 cents per mile/point

  9. The Thai version of viagra is sidegra was available at the pharmacy you ask about as well a most of the other pharmacies in the neighborhood, no prescription required.  Cialis is similar is viagra so I suspect other pharmacies along Surawong will be available to assist.  Sidegra comes in a tablet and a gel, one frequent correspondent on this board prefers the gel as he believes it is quicker acting.

My flights usually depart at noonish or just past midnight.

In the later case I always book the room for the whole night to have an acess to shower and a bed if necessary even if it,s partially unused due to earlier departure

No special routine on the last night but I try to keep it busy and if I have a choice I prefer my last guy or two to be performance  tested one to avoid upsetting surprises

As the boys might say: same, same

  11. I prefer the Amara and have just booked three night there in September.  It's about a five minute walk from the New Twilight Male bar and five more from Moonlight, Hot Male, DreamBoys etc.  The Raya once steps from Twilight is now next to a construction site.  It hasn't moved just the developers have moved in on Twilight.

If debating between the two, recommend a @vinapusolution...a few nights at each.  My version of this is Amara to start, then Pattaya for a few nights, then back to Bangkok with a stay at the new Quarter Silom hotel.

EVA seems to have lots of award availability. Call your local office first, and they will tell you if there is a Premium Economy to Business Class upgrade on your chosen dates. If yes, immediately book PE on line, then call back with the booking reference. They will then do the upgrade with an email confirmation in minutes.

LHR - BKK rtn "costs" 75k miles, and you travel in one of the world's best business class products.

I was planning on Eva for it convenience and quality...unfortunately transferring flights in Taipei requires a covid test.  So I booked United to Tokyo then transfer to Thai.  Not a lot of great choices for those going west to Bangkok from the west coast of the USA
