  1. It was good to be a small part of your day 9 and thanks for the suggestion of going to top of Maha Nakhon and being so welcoming. I really add to your endorsement. It is so much fun seeing all the sites and also looking down on the local haunts. I spotted a big swimming pool on soi 3 (not the Trinity one which is my usual go to) and as a daily swimmer when in Bkk will now try to find it to test out.

The boys adore it up there as it creates a film set backdrop feel for their selfie life.

spoon was also good at spotting local sites especially zooming in on the roof of local sauna.  I think he should report on what he found under that roof ;)

In Z you really had a lovely guy with a personality as big as the tower we visited who was so fitted into the fun of our group. So great to read more about your time with him. And Sppon’s  A had muscles and a smile as easy to look at as the bangkok skyline and a lovely understated personality - all in a most enjoyable few hrs

As a bonus i am also glad we got you to enjoy a usual no go area in soi 4!  a great last night for me.

I like one of them , he often  wears bandanna , never was brave enough to off him but one day I will but at least managed to  few times to place his tip deep in his jeans, it feels he has impressive flat stomach

Now he (bandana man) is touting for Moonlight and perched at entrance to their soi

new routine last night saw three of the Moonlight models, including babe, doing towel only dance. Getting more revealing than they were before.

sadly no Tam, Sunny or Nicky........

Great update! I really like how Fluke does his hair at Fake. Suits him better than the slicked back ponytail he had at Moonlight.

How exactly does the model system work? I have always been there with boys so I have never been up close with any of the Fake models, apart from those who may know the boys with us and come up to say hello. Do the models go table to table introducing themselves? Are you expected to tip them?

Around a month ago my friend invited Babe, Tam and one other muscular Moonlight model to Fake. The boys thought it would be funny to have their shirts off like the house models. They were drinking, dancing, flexing biceps and having a great time. However at some point they noticed they had distracted all the customers in the vicinity who were openly ogling them non stop and starting to crowd around the table, while the real Fake models were getting upset. So they quickly put their shirts on and kept a low profile thereafter LOL.

Yes. His hair look is better and possibly a venue requirement. I prefer also. The models, and the dancers, join the tables. Of course the reaction from the tables will determine how long they stay and you can see that they know they have to circulate. Esp the popular ones.

Most of the time they seem happy with drinking the whisky shots and generally sharing the drinks, often decided who drinks shots after drinking games. All part of making the club work and tick over I guess

if they stayed a while it seems a tip of 100 was the market rate.   my Thai friends would do this or tell me to from time to time and I wasn’t sure if it was based on how long the guys stayed or how much they were appreciated  (or if they’d asked).

but certainly not heavy pressure to tip

There was a lot of tipping on the runway including the banknote garlands from I guess the Chinese who really love that part

Fook did ask for a 100 at the end of night  as we made him drink some shots to finish bottle and I did give at beginning of night as guessed it meant he’d keep returning

It is a good fun night with some Thais or I guess some Moonlight models in tow and it is much more of a club/party scene than boy to hire and I prefer that vibe

For variety there used to be App club but that burnt down apparently and so now not sure if there is much else. Is a place called joob bar and another smaller one on sukhumvit somewhere I think?

but Fake is definitely the big grand daddy of them all.

  4. So went back to Fake club last night. Less busy so chance to meet models and dancers who as hank75 says do a great job of getting customers to keep drinking..

And who do I see in first 15 minutes but Mr Fook as badge calls it, aka Fluke

    very friendly and amazing physique

he was really working tables well and perhaps Moonlight has given him experience/confidence as clearly one of best at it. Also conscientious to keep rotating

we chatted about his shower show and for his second table visit I’d found his shower video which he thought was very entertaining and was showing others

no fancy costumes this time and indeed on catwalk show part he was one of star performers moving down catwalk with speedo around his knees as he gyrated and collected tips, hand strategically placed of course.

at one point Mr babe came past and they greeted like long lost friends - are they about to poach another?!  I couldnt see who he was with

anyway I left with his line ID and memories of one sexy dancing/touching at end of night.

He was pretty drunk at the end of the night but really friendly. A fun night.

  5. I went to fake for New Year’s Eve and have been a few times. Always go with Thai friends and great fun the way they congregate together around the tables.  It’s basically a club and I enjoy being somewhere that is less than 1% western faces.  Much less of boys on catwalks and dancing this time. Only one show after 1am which was a bit raunchier than before but still at tease end of things.  Models circulate on floor for drinks and to engage. Must have strong livers if do it every night.  I agree it isn’t a place best to go alone.

On Moonlight is there any news of boy I think wore no.8, from south Thailand?  He had the best smile I ever saw and lovely personality.

  6. Just thought I’d bounce this back up to say ,for once!, I was a trend setter calling the Moonlight popularity. Haha

Was back in there thurs 27. Full but not packed.  Didn’t have quite the same energy with routines I felt. And pricier.

    but still worth a visit

ps, what happened to the really cute guy with amazing grin.  Worked in the shoe shop and was from southern Thailand?

  7. Ok, brief sojourn in Bangkok and back to the scene of the crime, so to speak.

Moonlight bar on a Saturday night in mid August. Busy but not heaving. Maybe 60 to 80 in across show time. I did notice rotation of customers is quite fast and many leave without finishing first drink.

That’s your Asian market not stingy old farang for you!

At 350 entry ticket with drink and 200 second drink {and third if wanted] it’s certainly good pricing.

Show was almost all new numbers from 4 months ago. Good mix of humour, routines and sleazy imo.

Still like that they make their boys parade a bit more entertaining. It feels like they think about it.

No model parade. Has that ended or low season hiatus?

One of the models, I think, with blonde highlights, did a solo shower that was as sexy as hell. A lot of tease can be more fun than just whacking it out.

They have one main dancer, who can really move. Makes the others look flat footed. The dancing makes him sexy as hell. Anyone know who I mean.

Not quite as good as April visit but I’d still recommend very much.

Will do another post on few other sites and sounds.

Fair to say it all felt ticking over, the Chinese, Asian visitors keeping it going for sure.

  8. Last day in Bangkok. Monday. Went to MBK for lunch with some friends from Singapore. After that caught a movie and shopping. Back at hotel for nap. Woke up at 8pm and watched World Cup match on TV - South Korea vs Denmark. Some of the South Korean players are quite good looking.

After match (which South Korea lost due to a penalty), i had dinner at Foodland Patpong. As I walked past the three gogo boy bars on my way to Foodland Patpong, I considered whether to see Tokyo Boy. Nah. After dinner, I headed to Moonlight.

It was about 10:20pm. About 10 customers seated waiting for show. 15 boys in white Moonlight singlets and red shorts on rotation on stage. Some very good looking boys. At 10:30pm, show started. Emcee appeared and introduced the stars of the show - 5 hunks good enough to be models for magazine.

Gasp! A blond hair and bearded farang on stage!

Emcee introduced them one by one. First hunk is aspiring actor/singer. He can sing and dance (in fact, he sang George Michael's Careless Whisper later), two other hunks had "big cocks" and "did photo shoot for gay magazine". The farang is Mr Ikor, as the emcee pronounced. I think it's probably Igor. Russian hunk living at Khao San Road. Working part time. And finally, the star of Moonlight - Tam. After introduction, the 5 models came down the stage and went to all customers to shake hands and offer smiles. Very appreciative and friendly. I like it.

After that, the show began. Many dance numbers, including the customary shower show. Tam and Igor had a memorable two man dance number. The boys at Moonlight can dance! So unlike the stiffness of the guys at Jupiter. As the show progressed, the items got more and more risque with pants lowered to show cocks. The lone woman in the front seats with her two male friends was constantly covering her eyes. Show ended at 11:45pm. Boys came up on rotation except the models. Number 3 was cute, number 19 was handsome and number 8 charmed me the whole night with his dancing. Somehow, i didn't feel a need for an off tonight on my last night in Bangkok. I had already enjoyed myself thoroughly this trip. I got up from my seat, walked towards number 8 and slipped him a 500-baht note. Squeals of delight from the waiters and mamasans (they are one dramatic bunch of drama queens) plus a shocked but happy look on number 8's face.

Went back to hotel and you guess it, watch World Cup on TV!

The next morning, I checked out of hotel and went to airport. Pleasant surprise greeted me. Cathay Pacific Airlines decided to upgrade me from economy to premium economy! This has really been a fabulous trip!

8 gogo bars visited - Tawan, Jupiter, Moonlight, Screwboys, Hot Male, X-Boys, Freshboys (Patpong)

3 shows watched - Tawan, Jupiter, Moonlight

2 boys offed - 1 long time and 1 short time

2 massages at Baan Tewa with same boy but he's really really good! Will not forget the creative traditional Thai massage that he gave me!

Can't wait to go back in December!

Hey Jason. On my recent trip I thought Moonlight was the best show and that no.8 had the cheekiest smile and zinger personality. I reckon Moonlight will be the star bar of 2019 as word spreads
  9. My last visit to Dreamboys I also found a bore. Too many ‘skits’ with ladyboys and dragged out for poor humour. Non stop commentary which is annoying too. The other shows take too long to transition and of course it’s pricey. I thought Moonlight had it right this time around. More relaxed, more fun, attractive talent.

  10. Not long till Christmas now. Not long till Bangkok too. Any more tips or thoughts around the holiday season?

Just two days till arrivals for me. Can't wait. Who else is going/already there? What are your plans?

And enjoy the countdown everyone, wherever you are in the world.

  11. Not long now till I hit Bangkok again for a few days. Have done most of the big must do tourist sites and know soi twilight and the Silom massage places get talked about a lot.

Would welcome thoughts on a few great things to do and see that are less known about. Both touristy and more naughty. And extending the footprint across the City. All thoughts welcome.

Also very keen to do a lively Thai cookery course that's more focused on fun than becoming the next Raymond blanc or Mcdang.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

  12. Just ONE month to go!! Thanks for the responses so far. The new year White Party looks superb, is it confirmed yet Numazu?

Please keep updating with news, tips and anything relevant to Christmas and New Year in Bangkok and if you are around for this holiday period.

Is 3 Jan an additional holiday to 1 Jan now?

    Jingle bells to all

  13. EVA offers Premium Economy which has increased leg room and seat width. Actually Premium Economy( offered by Asian carriers) is not quite the same as Economy Plus which is the term used by American carriers. PE has about 38" pitch while the Economy Plus is about 35". Sometimes 3 extra inches can make all the difference.

    Indeed it can.

  14. There's no hiding. Just check out the shops. Christmas is looming!

So I thought a thread on Christmas and New Year in Bangkok would be a good idea. I'll be there for the fortnight with trips out of town too.

All tips and advice for this time welcome. Both general tourism stuff and the more specialist scene. What's good to know and do?

What's been good and bad in the past? Is it peak high season? Anyone else around?

Hoping for a lively and informative thread and may everyone be Merry.
