Thank you Numazu for your updates which are enjoyable to most. Thank you Scooby for ridding the topic of the negativity. As for promiscuity, I enjoy being promiscuous and will continue for as long as I am able. For large parts of my life I could not indulge often due to gay sex being against military regulations. Now, I thoroughly enjoy meeting many different partners both at home and on holiday in Thailand. People can call it what they like since I really don't give a shit what anyone else thinks. I call it having a good time.

Thank you so much for your posting.  You are giving me another good reason to visit Phnom Penh.  They have a nice web site in English: www.prumsodun.com.  They have been performing in their studio in PP twice a month.  Hope they are still active next March when I plan to make my first visit.

Stayed there for five nights in April.  Had a balcony room in front on the second floor.  A fairly small and quiet room both convenient and comfortable.  It's run by two Indian brothers who are fixing it up.  They had not yet gotten around to the lighting in the room which is very minimal and dim.  I was very happy with the balcony room as I could gt good light through the big window and glass on the door.  But after sunset there was very low light in the room.  Good shower and on demand hot water which worked very well.  Did not eat there.  Nor did I eat next door which was very busy but did not seem very suitable for vegetarians.  Room was $22/night.

Found a great and very inexpensive restaurant only 5 minutes away towards Pub Street and a few doors down from Blue Hatha Spa (which was quite enjoyable). It's called Dee Cafe on Steung Thmei and right around the corner from Tous Les Jours a lovely coffee shop/bakery.

    From Khaosod English

BANGKOK — Wearing a glittering golden crown, a male dancer in a purple sarong sways gracefully in an ancient Khmer routine. A necklace hangs from his neck, and bangles adorn his wrists, arms and ankles like the ancient temple dancers whose movements he evokes.

Especially stunning are the bare-chested men personifying female characters in a performance that signifies a leap forward for Cambodia’s once-invisible LGBT performing arts community.

At a Friday performance of the Prumsodun Ok and Natyarasa dance company, it wasn’t the dancers’ sexual identities that made for a captivating performance, but their command of traditional Khmer dance, which communicates beauty through every curved back and synchronized movement.

Apart from their expressiveness, the audience at Thonglor Art Space could clearly sense the dancers’ dedication, accompanied by the dignity of representing their sexuality, being accepted and supporting themselves by doing what they love.

Artists and academics were all but exterminated in the Khmer Rouge genocide four decades ago. Efforts were made to revive traditional Khmer dance afterward, but it remains in a vulnerable state today.

Ok said the ancient dance is seen as a mirror of heaven, reflecting society’s highest expressions of beauty, identity and order. If one looks at that reflection and doesn’t see LGBT people, it means that they don’t exist. That lack of representation, Ok said, contributes to them being stigmatized and misunderstood.

“Giving these gay men a place in this artform is really stretching and re-choreographing the image of heaven and the order it represents,” said Ok, the troupe’s founder and artistic director. “What we’re giving to the tradition is new voices, new ideas, new approaches of where to grow and expand into the future and also allowing young gay men to be heard, seen and to be valued.”

Before the troupe was formed, Ok received threats from those afraid and angry that he’d destroy or distort the traditional artform. He compared the situation to a story in which the Hindu Lord Shiva held poison in his neck to save the world.

“I really learned how to transform poison into nectar,” he said. “Beyond them, there were young Khmer people who wrote to me saying that they love what I’m doing. Also, I learned to see the love all around me from teachers, friends, strangers who came talk to me.”

Eventually, negative criticism faded as his works proved their quality and began transforming traditional dance into a contemporary context.

Ok said LGBT rights are improving in Cambodia, but a lot of work remains, such as ending workplace discrimination, harmful media portrayals and family acceptance.

    Continues with video and pics

Your criticism of my life style (the very little you can know about it) tells me that you haven't found happiness yet.
If you had, you would not criticize someone who gives good advice to a fellow person who can use it.

Highly recommend Banana Club on Sukhumvit Soi 23.  Kelvin is the mamasan and he is most helpful.  He gave me a wonderful suggestion, Ton.  After putting my things in a locker, we showered together and proceeded to a very nice smallish room.  The massage was great as were the extras.  Again we showered together. It was a memorable experience.  Will definitely return on my next visit.

Also paid a visit to nearby Nine Spa to have a session with Guy (whom I discovered on Instagram! "guy_mars") on a quite side lane off Soi Sawatdi.  He is exactly my type of look.  The hour long session was only 30 minutes but shortness was well compensated in intensity.  He wasn't much into the massage but the extras were again quite memorable.

Stayed in Tai-Pan Hotel only a block away from Banana Club.  They had a non-smoking floor and a nice outdoor pool, sauna and weight room with a very friendly trainer.

santosh108 reacted to numazu in Has anyone stayed in Hua Hin?
There is a Hua Hin trip report here somewhere, but this terse summary will do.

My BF and a friend were there for three days, 2 days before Songkran last month. We wanted to have a short beach getaway that was relatively accessible from Bangkok, and the 2.5-3 hour drive was not too bad to get to and from there. We used Hua Hin Cab (http:\\huahincab.com - 1900 baht) to get to Hua Hin, and used Olay of Siam Roads on the drive back to Bangkok with some stops along the way (camels! seafood! temples! viewpoints!). FYI, Olay is so handsome and so friendly, he is highly recommended! Me and my friend were drooling the whole drive back to Bangkok.

The beach is fine, yes way less commercial, but pretty good and not busy at all, and great to just lay there and enjoy the sun and the occasional dip in the Gulf of Thailand. The beachfront vendors provide loungers and reclining beds, as well as beers and lunch/dinner/snacks, which are reasonably priced.

The (one) gay bar we tried to go to, New Guy Bar, was dead dead dead on a 10 PM Tuesday night. We didn't even stop by and just walked by it. So sorry can't tell you if it picks up later that night or if weeknights are bad. I didn't try Grindr because my BF (BurBoy) was there, but my friend was able to find a number of very cute free boys. Can't comment on the money boy Grindr scene.

The seafood at the Night Market is great, though make the effort to find a restaurant that serves fresh stuff. We picked one at random and the seafood, while delicious, was not as fresh as we could hoped. The Night Market is cute and another way to spend the time in this early closing town. Bluport mall is a pleasant shopping experience - not too busy, relatively good restaurants and vendors, and a good place to get aircon.

We stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel Hua Hin, and it has a beachfront, but they don't have loungers closer to the beach. The main beach area with vendors are a pleasant 20 minute walk along the sand from the hotel. The hotel itself upholds most of what Intercon hotels are known for, so I recommend it.

Finally, quoting a PM by a very helpful forum member:

Some photos here - at loungers with some snacks and alcohol, the beachfront by Intercon, The sunrise (Hua Hin beach is East facing) and the moonrise:

Reading last few posts above reminded me a story of one of our members who is still posting here from time to time.

Few years ago in his trip report here  he mentioned strange antics of mamasan in one of most popular massage places, at the time his favorite and  frequented often so he was well known and welcomed there. On subsequent visit , day or two later after posting he noticed visible hostility from that mamasan.

He was sure that this was result of either gossip by our readers or somebody showed his report to that mamasan.

Result - we don't have his trip reports anymore, place lost  his regular client and as a side dish I learned his lesson and now write my trip reports after I return home.

Can we just go back to giving information about hotels, restaurants, food, bars, boys, beaches, tourist sights and places? And add pictures to make it more informative and enjoyable? Which are the reasons this site is interesting.

We will never ALL agree on our preferences, be it lodging, food, men or sexual position. So there are no reasons to make one preference better than the other guy and make it into a posting fight.

Let's go back to being happy and envious (!) of the person having fun in Thailand and appreciative of the time taken out of their limited time to posts their stories here.

That is, until the time each of us can go back and take the time to post our own trip report again.

Yes, bomb throwing is acceptabe, but let it be on the joyful side and not on the war to posts side.

    Age: 26

Is he a "working boy"? Yes.
    Were they on time? Yes.

Profile looks promising, so we met (Tue 18apr2017), but didn't have sex (my decision).

At about 500 m from my place, I can risk wasting time meeting someone who is not a clear hit by pictures and stats (63kg, 175 cm on hornet, just 1 kg more or 1 cm less and I would instantly dismiss him as too fat for my taste). So we meet in front of my building (where I instantly see: not my type, but staying here outside would be awkward), and I invite him to my room. General chat (the boy can write and speak in full English sentences). He works freelance in a nearby massage shop (goes there when manager calls him). Then: "I massage you?". No mentioning of money so far, so now I have to ask "Do you expect money?" - "Little bit." So I abort and say goodbye.

At least I can recommend him for being able to communicate in English and being at appointed place at appointed time.

Now in Chiang Mai but a couple of nights ago I decided to revisit Screwboys - arrived just before the show and there were quite a few customers. The show itself has somewhat deteriorated in that it seemed to be overloaded with lipsync lady boy numbers.I prefer to watch boys _ there were a couple of big cock dance stroking numbers but have to admit I was talking to a couple of new found companions to really take a lot of notice. i did notice when the boys in the routines presented rhemselves at the table looking for tips. I was talking so missed most of the acrobstic sex act st the end. One of the downside things for me at Screwboys is that smoking is allowed
it is a small venue and the build up of smoke is quite noticeable.

Now to the boys - around 12 + on stage - a mix of Thai, Viet, Shan, Cambodian boys and some very easy on the eye. more like the ordinary boy next door types. I sat with a Viet (bi) and a Cambodian (bi) and we had a fun night - all tops so we were working out the possible computations if we had a night together - the reaction of the Viet boy when told he would have to be the bottom was hilarious!! Really nice guys and lots of fun - no offs that night.

Have only been here in Jomtien Complex for two days, but have had an opportunity to try some massage.
Your map is accurate.  Here are most of the names.

    #1 - Sa Bai Thong
    #2 - Soda
    #3 - Fah
    #4 - Blue Angel
#5 -?? (Didnt see sign in English)

They all seem to have oil and most other massages for 300 per hour.  Thai massage is 200.

I tried oil massage at Fah and had a masseur named Men. The facilities were small and basic.  Looked like 3 curtained off areas up front and a room with a lockable door and shower in the back which I was in.  Not particularly clean.  But table was sturdy and coverings seemed clean.  Men gave an excellent massage with medium pressure which I requested. Very therapeutic and also very sensual.  When I turned over I could see that he was dressed in short loose trunks and he did not mind mutual touch.  Actually he got quite excited.  However he never got too close... Only one HE.  Not sure he would offer more if negotiated or on subsequent visits?  Gave him 500 and massage was 300. Offered a shower at the end, but gave it a pass.  Very enjoyable hour.  Will definitely try to see Men again.  Well worth just for the therapeutic treatment.

Next day massage at Soda.  Didn't get the name of the masseur.  This is a much bigger facility with more decoration. Curtained off cubicles in front and than more around the corner.  Looked fairly clean.  I was in a cubicle around the corner.  Received an adequate massage and upon turning over again he was in loose shorts which quickly disappeared. Mutual HE.  Again not much more interaction.  Gave him 300 and massage was 300.  It was ok experience.

Of course in any massage place the experience will depend greatly on the masseur.  And as I did not request more interaction since I did not know if that would be appropriate, I just went with the flow.

Look forward to trying out more of these places later in the month when I return.

Would be nice to hear of more personal experiences in these places.  For me this is much less hit or miss than boy bar and certainly less expensive.

Looks like 100% of worry is on you. You worry about others on here on why they love doing a certain thing that you don't get. Most of us here do just fine with long time, and sometimes actually prefer it over short time.

    Some points:

    1. firecat69 is right. If there was a rash of beatings or robberies that happen over long time, it would be all over the news. Thailand prides itself of being a relatively safe tourist haven, and wants to keep this reputation intact. You better believe if any sex worker does this, he or she will be tarred and feathered by his or her bar and the police, when all is said and done.

    2. There is security in hotels that can prevent such things from happening. Security usually asks for the boy to leave his ID when he accompanies you to your room. He can't get his ID back without security checking up on you first. However, I've used AirBNB for the past year now, with no security to speak of, and i'm still alive, with all my money and belongings intact. And have had the best sex I've ever had that spans days, not mere hours.

    3. Why does it matter if the boy sees you putting stuff in the safe? If you're worried about even this small thing, then you take risk aversion to a whole new level. CLEARLY long time is not for you. I'm surprised any-length-of time ever works for you. Most of these boys are pros, and have seen it all. I think there are more things he will be uncomfortable with (like having sex with someone he is not attracted to), than just seeing you putting your valuables in a safe.

    4. Being a light sleep is a legit concern of course. Having a good night sleep whilst on holiday is important, sometimes even more so than getting good sex. BUT, I do enjoy these things: cuddling at night, being woken up with sex, having late night conversations in bed, waking up to someone beautiful, admiring a fit body all night. The list goes on. Definitely trumps the snoring thing. I have earplugs for that. But then again I am not a light sleeper. Your mileage may vary.

    5. Some of us enjoy the full "Boyfriend Experience" and not content with short time. We like wining and dining, sitting and sharing conversation, knowing the boy's story. We like a full night, and some dessert in the morning. We like experienceing a strange city with a local who knows where to go, and then fucking them afterwards. Sometimes if the boy knows more about you, and has put in the time to understand your quirks and preferences, then the sex may become better. Some don't like to do all of this and just want the sex part. That is perfectly fine. To each his own.

In summary: worry about what you want to worry about. The rest of us will do the same. Enjoy Thailand the way you want to. We definitely do.
