It depends on what you mean by  a beach view. The row of hotels overlooking Dongtan certainly have uninterrupted views of the sea but you'd have to check whether a particular room has one. Those hotels have narrow beach fronts for obvious reasons, stretching a long way back  as far as the Pattaya road where the main entrances tend to be.

I assume that the  rooms with the best views will be priced accordingly. And will be the most in demand.

Ah yep makes sense, cheers. I probably should have said 'ocean view', that's what I'm after.

  2. Hi all. I’ve managed to book myself a short Thailand holiday in between family and work commitments, was hoping for 2 weeks but could only manage 6 days, but any time in Thailand is better than no time in Thailand I reckon.

Anyhow, I’m toying with spending half the time in Bangkok and the other in Pattaya (Jomtien), and I’m kinda wanting a hotel with a balcony with a beach view. Has anyone stayed at Welcome World Beach Resort or Avalon Beach Resort? Do these hotels have beach views? If not, is there anything around the general area that would be suitable? Cheers!

  3. I've used them twice - CNX to HKT and HKT to BKK. Can't fault them really, to be honest I can't remember much about the flights so it must have been non-eventful which is good in a way.

Yes going to the same place can be boring but we all miss going to Thailand every year, it's like a addiction 😂

Taiwan sounds great going by PeterRS comments but they seem to be more bottom type guys

Perfect opportunity then to practice my topping skills as I usually seem to be on the bottom!

Plenty of pharmacies and 7/11 stores in Silom area, all will help you with your condom and lube needs. Mouthwash too.

7/11 for sure, and in a pinch, some hotel mini bars stock them also. Bars guys usually bring some too.

Since there is no risk exposure, i dont take prep at home.

On my most recent visit to the LOS, I ended up with PEP. It could have been considered a minimal risk, but for the peace of my mind, i decided to take it.

So to avoid similar mistake, this time, i decided to take PrEP and i have started taking it. the recommendation is to start two weeks prior to the expected risk.

There is also “on demand” PrEP if you dont want daily PrEP. It is usually called 2-1-1 schedule. the effectiveness is not as good as daily prep and it is not approved by US FDA.  but it is being widely used.

    Great, thank you!

  7. Quick question - do you take prep daily, or do you take it as needed? I've been meaning to go on prep but I don't know whether it would be worth going on the daily prep as I hardly ever get any action here in my home country, or just use it as needed whilst I am in Thailand.. there is like a holiday dosage, I forget how it works but it was explained to me by my GP.

  8. Also depending on how much luggage you have, the BTS will likely be quite full at that time of the day so it would be a little difficult to travel with a suitcase. MRT possibly a little quieter? May I also suggest if you go the MRT route, get off one station after Silom - Sam Yan. The walk is a little further but you don't have to cross busy Surawong Rd to get to the Raya. If it is raining, then I would forego the above options and just catch a taxi!

  9. I've only been to Jomtien once and had an average time compared to Bangkok, but willing to give it another try - I like it because it is walking distance from the Suvarnabhumi bus station (I like to walk to most places - I'm scared of riding motorbikes, and haven't quite worked out how to use the baht bus) and it is near the beach where I like to hang out during the day. I'm just uncertain how to host bars work - when I was last there I had a bar guy come on to me quite strongly so I ended up offing him even though he wasn't really my type, but didn't know what to do lol. Another guy I offed I just found on Grindr. Gogo bars just seem easier. Any tips?

The only thing that kept me intrigued for some time, was the act where they slam their
hard cocks with a loud bang into a metal pole. That must hurt! But somebody told me they really don’t slam their cock that hard into the pole. The noise is made because the slam something else (feet/leg?) into the pole at the same moment, so it looks the cock is making a harder impact than it actually does. But I never managed to actually see prove of this theory myself.

It is their knee which makes contact with the pole! Anyhow, looking forward to hearing about your adventures!

I just got a really good (and very painful) Thai massage by a cute guy at SODA in the jomtien complex. I didn’t actually mean to get a nothing more than a massage, didn’t mean to get a happy ending… but, oops, I did.

Afterwards I wasn’t sure what to tip so I asked the guy, and he told me “I decide”. I ended up tipping him 1000 TBH and he seemed pleased, I asked him if it was okay and he said “yes thank you so much”. So I felt like it was probably enough.

however I was just curious what is considered a minimum tip and what would be a good tip for a massage with happy ending in jomtien?

I guess it also depends on how "happy" the happy ending was.. I would pay more if there was fucking involved versus just a handjob for example.

Hijacking this thread about Pattaya sorry, but I am in the planning stages of a Pattaya trip soon and looking for hotel options. As I try to quickly requalify for American Airlines Exec Platinum Status for 2023, I wanted to use Rocketmiles.com to book my hotel that will enable me to get the Loyalty Points I need to get me over the line to get over 200,000 points. (Background here for the curious: https://thepointsguy.com/news/rocketmiles-vs-booking-direct/)

Using this website does limit my options, and if I was wanting to stay within sane walkable distance from Boyztown Pattaya, it looks like I have 3 main choices:

    PTYHotel.thumb.png.0bedb3d3521f70a12ba1905e7591444c.png

    $43/night - Baywalk Residence (1500 miles)

    $44/night - Aya Boutique Hotel (2000 miles)

    $83/night - Avani Pattaya Resort (2500 miles)

Anyone have any insight on any of these three hotels?  I have stayed at the Baywalk and Aya before, but this was 2015-2016 time, so things may have changed since then. I am curious about the Avani Resort, pricier and arguably the least miles for the buck, but I wouldn't mind a little bit of luxury if its worth it. Obviously the joiner situation needs to be liberal.

    Thanks!

I stayed at the Avani in 2019 and it's quite a nice hotel. I did not have a chance to test out the joiner policy as I "ate out" so to speak, however I did engage the services of a legit massage guy during daytime hours who registered at reception and they sent him up. No joiner fee was paid, probably because it was during the day I guess. Probably unimportant, but I ordered a pizza from room service (but the pizza comes from a nearby pizza place, not from the hotel) and when it arrived it was absolutely massive. I was proud of myself for eating it all myself lol.
