Just ask Trump.   He said it very strong yesterday that Putin is a better leader than Biden.
Putin will raise oil drilling bigly while Sleepy Joe is the most corrupt leader the world has ever seen.
    Believe me!

    Regarding immigrants
the GOP will try scaring the $$$ out of you by saying whatever it takes to get you to open your wallet, just like televangelists do.
In either case, after they have your money, they have no viable agenda or policy other than vote for them and/or pray.

Last review. This one is about César, an adorable Venezuelan beauty who has been living in Colombia for a few years now.

such uplifting thread, joy to read in one go.
I agree that Latin America culture is bit violent and my personal theory is that is legacy of human sacrifices practiced not that long, in historical terms, ago plus brutality of slavery, traces of both must be still found in their blood.
on another hand I visited several countries in the region over the years and had almost no problems other than warnings from locals not to take that shortcut or roll up windows in the taxi on intersection .
ALMOST  above related to attempted theft of smartphone  in Buenos Aires metro (subway), skillfully done and in a sense entertaining  but still failed on part of thieves  who clumsily dropped on the floor phone lifted from my friend's buttoned up pocket in his shorts and opened by backpack pocket where I had my phone but did not have time to lift it up.
Riding metro there, similarly like in Mexico city it's quite noticeable that people are alert about their surroundings,   not thing one notices in Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur nor Montreal or Berlin.

Right. In addition, we drink vodka instead of breakfast, lunch and dinner, and during breaks we play balalaikas and walk our pet bears, wearing bast shoes and ushankas (earflaps).

I know, it's tough for my body to stay up that late. However, that's what I love about saunas – I'm usually in bed by 11 pm.
But this time, I made an exception. I had never been to a place like that with so much sexual tension. The gogo boys were hot; all of them sat very close to me, to the point where I could caress their hard bodies over their speedos. It was incredibly sexy. Since I was exhausted (destroyed )from my previous experiences at Lagoa with those well-endowed guys, I simply chilled with them. In those loud places, Google Translate and texting helped with communication without too much talking. Just feeling the warmth of those masculine guys while I sipped my drinks and enjoyed the stage shows made it a super nice trip.

I will try one last time.
    From https://www.cochrane.org/news/statement-physical-interventions-interrupt-or-reduce-spread-respiratory-viruses-review
The Cochrane Review 'Physical interventions to interrupt or reduce the spread of respiratory viruses' was published in January 2023 and has been widely misinterpreted.
Karla Soares-Weiser, Editor-in-Chief of the Cochrane Library, has responded on behalf of Cochrane:
Many commentators have claimed that a recently-updated Cochrane Review shows that 'masks don't work', which is an inaccurate and misleading interpretation.

It would be accurate to say that the review examined whether interventions to promote mask wearing help to slow the spread of respiratory viruses, and that the results were inconclusive. Given the limitations in the primary evidence, the review is not able to address the question of whether mask-wearing itself reduces people's risk of contracting or spreading respiratory viruses.

Well, that is a possibility. I guess we just need to find the answer to a single question: are you representative of most of American voters?

One can never prove that the difference is zero. With a large enough study, one could document a very small difference. What the studies can and do show is a 95% confidence interval, documenting that if there is a difference (might go either way), it is a small one (95% confidence interval (CI) 0.84 to 1.09; 9 trials, 276,917 participants; moderate‐certainty evidence). Since the studies, when combined, involve over 200,000 people, and the results are very close to zero difference, they do show that a truly significant difference is highly unlikely. What seems especially unlikely is that N95's are superior to surgical masks, as those studies were mostly done in medical, highly controlled settings. Obviously, preferred goal of researchers is to show that an intervention demonstrates an improvement. Fortunately, most researchers will publish results even when the results aren't what they'd hoped.
    (From the original post):
"Four studies were in healthcare workers, and one small study was in the community. Compared with wearing medical or surgical masks, wearing N95/P2 respirators probably makes little to no difference in how many people have confirmed flu (5 studies; 8407 people); and may make little to no difference in how many people catch a flu-like illness (5 studies; 8407 people), or respiratory illness (3 studies; 7799 people)...".
Of course, there will always be some people, including, unfortunately, physicians, who will be guided by their intuition and personal experiences rather than by careful study.

I think we may need to factor (besides luck) the time we stay in a place, increasing the risks to fall into statistic probability. Buenos Aires, Corrientes, NYC, DC, Paris, are all places where I stayed for a long time, and I was robbed in all of them. In Contrast, Bogotá, Medellín, Salvador, Mexico DF, Rio, where I have never suffered from any crime, have all been visits no longer than 2 weeks.

I've experienced two incidents of robbery during my +20 years living in Washington, DC, and my car was even shot once while parked in the street. Despite these unfortunate incidents, I still choose to call DC my home and feel safe here.
I've also faced robbery situations in both New York City and Paris. However, these experiences haven't deterred me from returning to NYC cities multiple times, and I would return to Paris without thinking twice. I will continue to feel secure when visiting them.
Interestingly, I've never encountered any incidents of robbery during my visits to Brazil or Colombia. Nevertheless, I believe my opinion and comfort level in these nations wouldn't change even if I were to experience a robbery in the future, which is a possibility.
