Just a FYI. Never heard of this place. Looks like it’s not far from Silom/Sathorn.

Ah. You made it sound like you had direct personal knowledge of areas and venues that other posters/travellers didn't possess.

Thank you Slvkguy, your 8 pointers are excellent and on topic, and wise from experience.
That list of 8 should be pinned if not already so.
The goal here is to make aware and warn tourists as to the current situation. It’s not about drama or trying to scare anyone.
Some visitors may get 100 hits from an app and believe they’re in a paradise free of danger or risk.
If it saves one life it’s accomplished something. I say enjoy and be careful!

There have been a few articles published in Medellín in the local papers (in spanish). Basically the trail has gone cold...there are no publicly known events since July 2022.
The office of the alcaldía of Medellín does has an advertising campaign visible in local gay bars and businesses, online, and in social media warning men of this potential danger while using hookup apps. You might even see these ads while cruising Grindr or Hornet while here.

Probably. I was never a real fan of Soi 4.
Bangkok died for me when they closed Twilight. Nothing can ever beat sitting at Maxis watching the world go by.

Sky reacted to reader in Thailand hikes minimum wage for first time in over 2 yrs
From Reuters
BANGKOK, Aug 26 (Reuters) - Thailand raised its daily minimum wage for the first time in more than two years on Friday, the labour ministry said, as it seeks to help workers cope with rising living costs and the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A committee made up of government representatives, companies and labour groups agreed to raise wages by an average of 5.02% from Oct. 1, Boonchob Suthamanaswong, the ministry's permanent secretary, said in a statement.
The minimum wage was last hiked in January 2020, by 1.6%-1.8%.
The exact rates differ slightly between regions with the three most industrialised provinces - Chonburi, Rayong and Phuket - and the capital Bangkok, at the top end of a 328 baht and 354 baht ($9.11-$9.84) range.
The raise makes Thailand's monthly minimum wage - at 9,840 to 10,620 baht ($273.33-$295.00)- among the highest of its peers in Southeast Asia with such measures.
By comparison, Vietnam, a regional manufacturing base, has a monthly minimum wage of between 3.25 million dong and 4.68 million dong ($138.82-$199.90).
($1 = 36.00 baht)
($1 = 23,412.0 dong)

Universal Tailors, 252, 2 Si Lom, Suriya Wong, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500, Thailand
They did excellent work for me. Very highly rated. Experienced. The only shop I’d use and I’ve tried others.
There are thousands of tailor shops around, Just go and talk to the owner look at the shop and you will see the difference.
Good luck with your suit!

Thank you for the updates above, and the link to local media. Clearly of great concern. 11 murders to date is shocking!
Many discussion threads recommend the App’s for meetings.
Until the perpetrator (s) is/are caught no one is safe.
I trust all forum readers are being “careful” with a highly dangerous situation.

Sky reacted to scott456 in Air Fares to Thailand 2022
I am seeing an interesting phenomenon on my recent flights (asia-europe, U.S.-europe), business class all sold out(even with the high prices), premium economy class nearly sold out, but plenty of availability in economy class. This is a total reverse of preCovid market.

Sky got a reaction from fedssocr in Air Fares to Thailand 2022
When I spoke with the airlines reservations department the agent told me that people have not traveled for two years and that many do not care about the price.
And she added that more than ever want business class for the additional space/ distancing due to Covid.
