  1. I always look at it this way. If everything went perfectly you would write one line saying, left ontime, great flight. Now you have a story to remember and tell.
  2. I’ve never had any issues on Christmas or News Eve. Lots of guys around. Lots of fun to be had.
  3. 737 Max is a single aisle aircraft. The picture above isn’t accurate. But look at the one line above the picture. It says, traditional 3 seats on either side of the aisle.
  4. Half the posters here complain about a 20 baht tip. Do you think they are going to pay for all that. The bar and gogo workers come and go so fast, it would be next to impossible to keep all the info up to date. I would suspect all that technical info would catch the attention of the current governments. But your right, who knows, I’m just pretty sure it won’t be in my lifetime.

    G-boys

Many of you complain about the annoying Mamasans at FreshBoys, (and other places) , but when was the last time you were there? They replaced the entire staff and only one Mamasan seems annoying to me. I told him I’d like to be left alone my first time there and he never bothered me again. They do give coins for change but usually only 5. I’ve never seen them give 10. I think There is a good mix of boys there now. Don’t be afraid of Mamasans. Their not going to throw you out. I’ve always just politely but firmly said if I need you I will call you over. I just don’t have problems with them. If you don’t try to get your point across they will try to walk all over you. It’s easier for us to ruin their night than for them to ruin our night. We have control of the tip.
  6. Don’t overlook Premium Economy. Lots of room for taller and larger travelers. Sometimes fares are just over those of Economy, but it’s really starting to catch on, so fares are creeping up. Still a huge bargain compared to Business.
  7. I know in Twilight they will keep the bottle for you. I know of bottles being held up to a week, but don’t know if there is a time limit for holding them.
  8. Twilight becoming a total ripoff is your personal opinion. My personal opinion is it’s not a ripoff. I hang out there 5-6 nights a week and have lots of fun. There are sex shows at several places. This is why I usually tell people that This is my opinion, but you should go see for yourself. We all have different ideas of what we like. Everything is close together so if not what your looking for, easy to just move on.
  9. Spoon I can only speak for Bangkok, but several bars and gogo’s don’t pay wait staff. They work for tip only.
  10. Many wait staff only work for tips and you say it’s their fault as they should get a better job. Then you say you can’t affort a bank transfer fee or to tip a waiter. Maybe you should look for a better job. I admit I tip very well. But I don’t judge people that don’t want to. It’s a personal choice. What I have a problem with is your hypocrisy and sheer glee in the fact that you take pride in stiffing the work staff . Save your 20 baht, you might need a little someday.
  11. You give Cheap Charlie’s a bad name.
  12. I don’t understand why you would want to go back to Thailand if you had such a miserable time.
  13. So many changes in the area lately and everybody using google maps on phone, not many maps anymore. Twilight is. Hot Male, Hot Male 2 and Banana Bar. Then XBoys, Bangkok Massage, FreshBoys. Across is Maxis Restaurant. Then Dreamboys. That’s about it except Classic way down and a couple little local places that don’t really draw tourist. Check out Gaythailand.com. Lots of info.
  14. You don’t mention what price range your looking at or how long your staying. Tarntawan and Raya are closest to Twilight. Tarntawan is a bit tired, but functionable. Rose and Montien are in the middle of construction zone, but navigable. Lots of high construction walls around the area. All will allow you to take company to room. Red Planet is a 15 minute walk, quite basic and quite popular with younger Chinese. Twilight is on Surawong. Raya is 25 ft from Twilight. That’s the closet.
  15. It’s difficult to recommend hotels in Bangkok as the city is full of them. Best of all some of the lowest prices for great 5 star hotels.. Your right Lucky as we get older our needs for more comfort and convenience becomes a bit more important than bargain prices.
  16. A lot depends on what you want to spend on hotels. Raya, Tartawan, Crown Plaza all very assessable to Surawong and under $100 a night. Check out Siamroads.com from car and driver.
  17. The high season in Thailand started this weekend. Totally lived up to its hype. The weather is perfect. Rain and humidity gone. The crowds returned to the gay venues in Bangkok this weekend. Most gogo’s and bars doing brisk business and an abundance of new working guys from all over SE Asia.
  18. Tonight was probably the busiest night Twilight has seen in awhile. High season is coming in strong. Just about full houses everywhere tonight.
  19. You need to use the word ME and not WE. If you find everything outrageous, so be it. Many do not.
  20. I’ve stayed out of this conversation as I’ve heard nothing. Though it seems to me if Twilight were to close in 3 days, there might be a bit of panick among the 500 or so people that would be loosing their jobs. Last night was business as usual and tonight almost business as usual as everybody has to close at midnight for Buddhist Holiday. So let’s see what happens Thursday.
  21. Wednesday is a big Buddhist Holiday. Police came thru tonight and said everything must close. Twilight, Soi 4 and Patpong. Midnight Tuesday . They changed their rules about 3 times tonight, but it does seem pretty certain all will be closed Wednesday.
  22. You always come to Thailand for a two week trip. This past trip you wanted to see if you could do it for one week and have good time. You have stated it was successful trip. Now the Ultimate Challenge. The weekend trip for Senso. Leave Friday, arriving Saturday. Couple Senso Massages Saturday night. Fly home Sunday. ✈✈
  23. I understand the police were out again tonight in Patpong and Silom. I was in Twilight and didn’t see any police. But did have a little trouble getting taxi as like last night there were police cars parked on Surawong and taxis wouldn’t park outside Twilight or Patpong. Last night when I saw police checking passports, Yes it was obvious they were more interested in darker skinned people.
  24. There was a huge police presence tonight from Silom to Patpong to Surawong. Immigration police, tourist police and Bang Rak police. Many police cars parked on Surawong from Burger King headed up to Twilight. Taxis usually parked in front of Patpong were nowhere to be found. I went into Jupiter about 10pm, I have a friend that works there . He told me police were in earlier. Most of the boys were fully clothed and no one was wearing numbers. Some took their shirts off for quick runway walk. When I left there were immigration police everywhere in Soi 4. I counted over 20 but there were more. They were checking passports of customers seated at the bars. Randomly though. Walked into Patpong headed to Screwboys. Same thing, Police entire length of street . My friend at Screwboys said police came into bars early, but late not bothering inside, just checking customers walking around outside. I left Screwboys to get taxi on Surawong. So many police cars parked and police officers standing at front of Patpong I ended up walking to Twilight to get taxi. Some tuk tuks at Patpong, but hard to get taxis. There had to be between 50-75 officers that I saw. Most just walking around with a few stopping people to look at passports. Mostly immigration officers so I assume part of the crackdown on illegals that has been going on. All started after 10pm and I got taxi at 12:30 and they were still going strong. In all my years I have seen police raids and police presence but nothing like tonight.
  25. I did my visa extension with a trip to Hanoi last week. I find it easier to leave the country than go to the Bangkok immigration office.
