Just visited my old favourite, Classic Boys. This doesn't quite have such a good selection of guys as 3~4 years ago, but there are still some nice ones. The dancers wear a range of different colour briefs, with some wearing vests as well. Drinks 250 baht, off fee 400. I met a nice slim guy, called Hopfy (from Isaan, as they often are). Very sweet & friendly. All went well, until the Mamasan rang up THREE times, less than an hour after we left the bar. I know it's short time, but watching the clock to that extent means I shall just try another bar next time & his chances of a repeat off dropped from quite likely to exceedingly slim. Also visited Nature…

December 1st marks World AIDS Day. Let's take a moment to reflect on the tens of millions who have died over the last 30 or so years, to convey our best wishes to those infected with HIV - especially here in Thailand, and to thank all those in the world's medical research facilities who have worked/are working on finding treatments to alleviate the effects of the HIV virus and to find a vaccine. Let's also recommit ourselves always to practise safe sex.

The Thai English media is abuzz this morning with reports that an announcement will be made later today about Thaksin being included in the annual list of Royal Pardons to be granted by the King. PM Yingluck was surprisingly absent from a special Cabinet meeting called yesterday. All officials were also asked to leave the room when the Amnesty issue was discussed. For the PM to miss any Cabinet meeting at a time of national crisis is, at best, extraordinary. She was in Singburi on Monday evening and cited travel difficulties for her absence, informing reporters that she had asked Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung to chair the meeting. It can be no coincidence t…

Stopped by my usual beach concession this trip - #25 Rainbow beach. I was very happy to find out they are now providing wifi service free to anyone renting a chair from them. Staff will provide password, just ask. Speed seems pretty good, YouTube streams well. I have not tried VoIP or video chat though. BF and I both happy to have access while lounging around. Now, if only I had a job that I could do remotely.

The latest survey by the independent consultancy firm, the Agency for Real Estate Affairs (AREA), shows that prices of land in those areas of Bangkok not affected by the flooding have, not surprisingly, surged. This is particularly true for areas near a Skytrain station and lower Sukhumvit, where prices are estimated to have risen 17% in the last 12 months. Consequently, those considering buying apartments in Bangkok will find that prices in the dry areas are quickly becoming more expensive. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/business/Land-prices-rise-sharply-after-floods-30171182.html Khun Sophon may think the floods will not affect prices in the flood areas, but …

Over a year ago, I posted news of a long article in the New Yorker magazine which highlighted a new development in some HIV patients who had been on drug therapies for more than about 8 years. It stated that these patients had become susceptible to a number of additional ailments more commonly associated with ageing and older people. One condition was osteoporosis. See Post #4 http://www.gaythailand.com/forums/topic/7048-hiv-and-aids/page__p__50340__hl__%2Byork+%2Bmagazine__fromsearch__1#entry50340 Yesterday there was a Reuters article on new findings from Asia, including Thailand, which show that teenagers receiving HIV treatments are now showinging early signs …

Many of the travel insurance policies available in the UK, seem to exclude travel on any motorcycle, unless the driver has a British motorcycle license. Now if I hop on the back of a motorcycle taxi in Asia, there's very little chance of that meeting these insurance criteria. So no medical cover, which is the big issue. Do I really have to give up being a motorcycle passenger for insurance reasons? In some locations, motorcycle taxis are a very convenient way of getting around.

So, I am crossing a couple of borders that have been unfriendly to me in the past, and I have viewed over the internet but not saved a lot of porn (no minors I would think, but I do not know how that can be proved). I was thinking to do a system recovery on my hp,, which would take the computer back to original factory settings using a partition built into the hard drive, and then using the computer for a few days of boring web browsing, before heading home. Would this actually remove everything? Would it remove everything as far as the average customs office is concerned, presuming they don't send the hard drive to military intelligence? Is there something mo…
