Last night 5 of us went to eat at Central Festival 5th Floor at All Seasons. All Seasons is an all you can eat steak, chicken, fish, salad bar, dessert, with soft drinks included place for one price of 285 baht which includes a 10% add on. We all agreed that the food was good. It has a wide selection on food including pizza, spaghetti, several Thai salads, as well as the choice of meats. One of the guys in our group said the ice cream was very good. He also mentioned it to the owner on the way out. They give you plenty of time to eat, but like several all you can eat places, it is timed. If you stay too long, you will have an additional charge.

I just received an email from ThaiVisa.com, reporting that Thailand has blocked the website of WikiLeaks in Thailand. When I tried to go to the ThaiVisa.com site, I was told by Google that they couldn't connect to ThaiVisa.com. Anyone else not able to access Thaivisa.com??? Looking forward to more details on why WikiLeaks has been blocked here in Thailand. They are in the process of releasing more documents from the middle east wars, but don't see how that directly affects Thailand???

Tried the new Irish Bar/Restaurant 'Mulligans" on Beach Road attached to central Festival. It is a big place with indoor and outdoor seating and lots of tvs for the soccer matches. I ordered Fish and Chips. The portion was not enormous but adequate. The fish was of a high quality cod and it was evident the oil used was Hot because the coating was nice and crispy without being Oily. The best Fish and Chips I have had in Thailand although I have had some close where the portions were larger. They also had lemons which I consider essential and very few bars or restaurants have in Thailand. They always give you limes Ugh!! Also had the Apple Crumble. Again the portion…

I went to the relaunch of Cafe Royale August 17. It had good support from the community. I saw several people I have not seen for awhile. The owners even had trays of "finger food" being delivered by the waiters as El Duo sang. The look is crisp and modern. and the bar is curved which looks good. All the wood and cabinets have been removed as has the elevated seating area. The front of the cafe has wooden folding doors so the doors can be opened to include the terrace. It really looks nice. I hope that the owners will correct some things that seem to be over looked or did not turn out as planned, such as: Opening the doors in front so those siting on the terra…

Has anyone heard of or used the Internet - Balance TL - R 480 T, the machine that helps a lot to keep data moving fast as it is coordinating TWO internet service provider to max out performance.... cost for machine and installation/setup your PC about 6,500 to 7,000 Baht. I was told this was possible as the phone line has 4 wires and each Internet Company only needs 2. I have a friend that has used the above and he loves it. He is in a home and not a condo. PattayaMale was telling me about a mattress top that a friend of his bought from Fly Now and I went to check it out as I always have a hard time sleeping on hard mattresses. I have bought a few mattresses over the years and left them in the places I've rented but something that is portable is really a great item for me. The item is called a Memory Foam topper and it was 5800 baht. It was a little hard to get it back to Pattaya on a motorcycle but we managed fine. Fly Now is on Sumkumvit past the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital and right after the Indian Taj Mahal village. You need to let it open up for a day before you get full use of it. But, I let it sit for abo…

  17. I am trying to loose some weight by using the Atkins method, low carbohydrates. It has worked fairly well so far as I have lost 12 kilos on a bit over 3 weeks, but the rapid weight loss is now down to a crawl. I still would like to loose another 24 kilos. The Atkins book suggests that I use "ketosis/lipolysis" sticks which are just strips of paper that will turn purple when you urinate on them if you are in Ketosis. I checked a couple places (really hard to explain it to most Thai pharmacies), but at first they think I am talking about strips that show drug use. Anyone know where I can purchase these in Pattaya?

One of my favorite girl bars, Bubbles, has turned into a gay boy gogo bar. I went there last night and had a nice time. We had gone to the New Dynamite as we heard reports of several dancers. They were right. There were MANY boys and the most populated gogo bar on that Soi. We then walked by one bar and met 2 guys we have known for years. They are both in their late 20's and VERY sexy. We were just talking about them yesterday as no one has seen them in years. There they were. Standing outside Happy (former Bubbles). They were delighted to see us and we were thrilled to see them. We had them both in for drinks and a chat. The music was not too…

Hello GT Members, Recently there has been forum discussion about holding Meet & Greet sessions in Pattaya. In past years, the GayPattayan, our beloved Allen Briggs, would hold a Meet & Greet for All...on the terraces of Ambiance Hotel in Boyztown..the first Wednesday monthly at 3-5pm. GP would post the meeting notice in his PG - Pattaya Gay Weekly Report... and anyone in Pattaya was invited to attend - newbies and expats alike - to meet among friends...and share their experiences and ask their questions about visiting, exploring or living in Thailand. Later on the Meet & Greet Sessions were hosted at the Thais4Life Bookstore in Pattaya…

At dinner the other night, Richard Burke, the owner of the now closed Amour Restaurant told us that his new venture "Street Life" will not being opening until probably the first of October. Delays in construction. Those not familiar with his plans may like to know that he is planning a NY style Deli, wine and cheese bar, and art gallery. Sounds like a big project. He is still negotiating prices with the different vendors so menu and menu prices are not available yet. Street Life is planned to only open in the evenings at this time.
