We have made the area for Recommended Links on the homepage of the site. We are adding the list that members have helped us to create on the front end. If it gets to "odd" looking on the homepage, we will move it to a separate page. We believe having it on the homepage will help other Thailand businesses / websites. We also made the a "shout-out" to the Message Board on the hone page. This makes the boards easy to find from the front page of the website. We have started to wade through tons of reviews of businesses and work on the code on that section of the site. We will be updating many pages next week. Thai Visa today had a thread that said many are experiencing Torrent Failure. Apparently ToT has blocked access to torrent files and sites. Has anyone experienced this?

Starting today, we have The Cocktail of the Week.... It is a way for our bartender to try a new cocktail and introduce you to it along the way. The 90 baht price good for that cocktail all week......then on the next Monday....a new cocktail. This week's featured cocktail is the PINEAPPLE MARGARITA. Two young Thai boys have been murdered on their way home from the market in Chon-Buri on the weekend. The pair had been returning home on their motorbike when they were attacked by an unknown offender who subsequently stole approximately Bt1,000 from the children. Many of us enjoy the atmosphere and reasonable prices and good food at Salt and Pepper Restaurant in Day Night 2. The owners are great and they are always attentive. They have a few new items that they have added to the menu. One of them is a chicken wrapped in bacon with cheese on the inside. It comes with fries and a salad. It tastes very good and for those of you that want to deviate from your regular Thai meal when there, give this great new item a try. I had it yesterday and thought it was delightful. They also have a few Russian dishes they make especially for the ladies customers they have for lunch each day.

I find the editor's note that I have posted below to be very interesting. PDN has always been the one to be "on the scene" when any arrests are made. To me they almost seem to be on call from the police station. Many times there is no follow up to the arrest. Never a mention of when a foreigner is acquitted. I love it when a community comes together to support one of our own. In this case, Gaybutton's website opened up this week and we have posts here linking to that site. Also, SGT and Baht-Stop have active threads about his new site. I think it is fantastic when all the major sites come together to support a fellow member of our community who opens his own site. I like The Bondi...they know how to "take care"... I really enjoy The Bondi... I stop by many times each week...to The Bondi... I appreciate the friendly welcome by the owners, their attentive hosts/waiter staff and.. there are many expats....both visitors and residents to meet up and chat with...a real fine gathering place. The Bondi at Jomtien Beach...Dongtan Beach walkway.. near the Police Box & 7-11... offers house mixed drinks...including wine and many beers... (Heinekin, Singha etc)...at 70 baht til 9pm every day... It is one of my favorite places in Pattaya to visit...anytime I believe that is a good value... with friendly waiters …

The GayThailand.com board is here to stay. We will not be moving the url or the forum. All posts will stay in place. Nothing will go anywhere. When I made the post a few days back, I thought that the move was a good move. After listening to the comments of many on the board who were not happy with the site being transferred over to a new domain, I was in contact with a guy in the USA who has offered to buy the site several months ago. We were close to a deal when I was in the USA but it fell through. The beer bars may have been busy last night but the 3 gogo bars I went to were eerily quiet. Few boys, few staff, few dancing, few customers. Perhaps it was just a Saturday Night and all the boys were resting up for a late night. We were out till after 11 and things were very quiet. One GoGo bar I went into which usually has a slew of hot guys were so dead that I felt uncomfortable staying. We paid for the drinks, gulped them down and off we went.

Famous Bar is a new Ladyboy bar on the street that goes from the end of Sunee. It is on the same side as White Night and almost across from the Little Mango. They have done an Absolutely fabulous job on this place. The bar is well done and it has some of the most beautiful ladyboys I have seen in Pattaya. The drinks are reasonable. I felt no pressure to take someone although they were eager to get us in. What a beautiful place!

Does anyone know if Chez Vickie Restaurant is owned by the same person who had a restaurant by that same name in Bangkok? I used to enjoy going there for the good food, but it closed. Bad location I think did it in.

A friend told me that Solid Bar was packed last night with great guys. He said there must have been 20 beautiful lads there. I was told so many that he had trouble choosing. I guess when you prices for drinks are reasonable, the boys are sexy and the staff is honest with what they do, you will keep customers coming. I am looking forward to a visit to Solid on my next trip to Bangkok.

I had the opportunity to take a drink in YaYa with a boy and I had a great time. The atmosphere is friendly. The decor is very nice. The staff is great. The prices are reasonable. They have a Wii in the back. It is a very clean and well organized place. Ya, the manager, is a gentleman and very nice. Best of all, they have free wifi for my IPad. The owner is gay. The staff are gay. They are all over 18. This is one place we should all want to support and keep going. Drop in YaYa and see what all the fuss is about!

So after you have met the proof of income requirements for a retirement visa, how much of it does the Thai government cream off in taxes? If there is significant taxation, would it be more efficient to qualify by having a lump sum in the bank account? I figure peoples incomes may arise from share dividends & so on, which may already have been subject to taxation abroad.

The lights went out in parts of Pattaya for about an hour. It was nice to have a romantic evening with the BF. I looked from the balcony of my room and it was sporadic lights out all around. Some areas were fully lit and some were fully out. Of course Walking Street was visible for a mile away.
