Thanks for that vinapu.  When newbies post for the first time on this board (and elsewhere, where the aggressiveness of some posters is well-known) we should answer their enquiries even if  it is all "old hat"  for us regulars.  Imagine how disconcerting it is  for someone whose first post is dismissed.

So, lispice, welcome to the board and to Thailand.  Treat the guys you meet with respect and pay the going-rate, correctly defined above. If you go to Pattaya, 1000 is usually fine for short time.

Be sure to let us know how you get on; it's always interesting to read posts from those who are visiting for the first time. If you are like me, you will never forget your introduction to Thailand.

Many of you complain about the annoying Mamasans at FreshBoys, (and other places) , but when was the last time you were there? They replaced the entire staff and only one Mamasan seems annoying to me. I told him I’d like to be left alone my first time there and he never bothered me again. They do give coins for change but usually only 5. I’ve never seen them give 10.
I think There is a good mix of boys there now. Don’t be afraid of Mamasans. Their not going to throw you out. I’ve always just politely but firmly said if I need you I will call you over. I just don’t have problems with them. If you don’t try to get your point across they will try to walk all over you. It’s easier for us to ruin their night than for them to ruin our night. We have control of the tip.

Stock bar is still opened. Dancers are now muscle type. Some with good endowments. Their website (www.stockbar.com/en) even has a paid section with the live shows. Used to like it more as the variety was greater. You could see twinks, skaters and muscle types but now is mainly muscles and some with too much steroid. There are more straight dancers than gay, I would say.

Campus, (www.campusmtl.com) that used to be all muscles, is now more mixed.

Taboo is more twinks and young types. So it's my regular spot (!!!). More gay than straight dancers. Very enjoyable place.

Bar Adonis just reopened during last April (www.barladonis.ca). Also twinks but not necessarily good bodies but always have one or 2 dancers that stand out.

Private dances are $15 CAD at Taboo and Adonis and dancers are really in your lap.
I can vouch for it (!!)
Dances are $20 at Stock and Campus and I cannot say anything on how "friendly" dancers are when in their cubicule as most are not my type and it's been too long since I asked for a private dance.

In case people ask: I do not know if the dancers are offable. Prostitution in Canada is illegal and client asking for sex service are prosecuted. If offable, it would be something dealt directly with the dancer and it would be after hours as the guys have to be working for the bar until closing at 3am. Bar would not be involved and thus no off fee.

Naturally all meeting apps are useful in Montreal.

I know there at least 2 bars in Toronto but cannot comment as it has been too long since i went.

I noted  this reasoning by the judge:

"""He said: ‘Having heard his evidence, I have formed the impression that Mr Prosser had expectations of his flight experience that were unrealistic given the class of cabin that he chose.""""

Cleraly judge  thinks if you fly economy be prepared to all kind of indignities and be happy you arrived in one piece at all.

"I find it unacceptable that someone from neighboring seat can invade my space."

"....it's simply unacceptable for him to steal part of another seat that someone has bought and paid for."

"There should be consumer protection laws that ensure a passenger will have the full use of the seat he has purchased."

That's the crux of the matter.

It's not "fat-shaming." I don't care how large someone is, but if he is taking up part of the space I have paid for, I would consider seeking redress from the airline in the form of a partial refund.

I've experienced this situation on a short-haul flight. I only fly business class on long -haul, especially on overnight flights when I like to sleep. I'm small enough to easily fit in an economy class seat. Business class does not offer me value for money if the flight is only a few hours.

On this particular flight I had a window seat and the guy in the middle seat was morbidly obese. He invaded my space and that of the girl sitting in the aisle seat. To make matters worse, he obviously hadn't showered for a month. I was squeezed up against the window and his feet took up most of my space. I found myself in a very uncomfortable position akin to a contortionist.

The flight attendant had trouble passing me the meal tray and ended up passing it over his head. He had to eat his meal on his lap, or rather, on his stomach, as he couldn't open the seat tray. It was physically impossible for me to eat my meal - the one I had paid for!

The flight attendant saw the situation and was rather embarrassed. I asked if I could move to another seat but was told the flight was full. I then asked if I could buy a business class seat but they were also full.

She apologised to me as I left the plane. I told her it was ok, as it obviously wasn't her fault.

I paid around $600 for the seat but only got to use less than a third of the space. So in theory, the airline should have refunded me $400 and recouped that amount from him.

I never followed it up but these days I always consider business class on short -haul, although I usually take my chances in economy.

But why should a passenger have to pay extra to get away from someone who can not fit into their seat?

It would be difficult for an airline to ban large people outright. Imagine the reaction from the PC crowd! But they could always introduce a rule which states that if, when the passenger arrives at the check -in counter, it is agreed that he is too big to fit into his seat, he must pay for a business class seat or buy the adjacent seat. If these seats are unavailable, then he cannot fly. He should not be allowed to use part of another passenger's seat.

a447a reacted to colmx in ordering a bottle in gogo bar
The rules seem to change on a bar by bar basis
    e.g.
-In some bars the all-in price includes all mixers until the bottle is finished and can be used on multiple nights
-In some the all-in price includes all mixers that night, but they charge you corkage of say 500B on the second night, sometimes the corkage is so high that it makes more sense to just buy a new bottle. In these cases I usually leave the part bottle for staff to drink
-In other bars the all in price only includes 8 mixers and you have to pay for subsequent mixers

The length of time that they will keep a bottle also varies, but I have never seen any bar that keeps more than a month.

You might also find that the 50% of a bottle that you left in the bar has become 40% (or lower) the next time you go back to the bar... damn evaporation!

If they have to use a seatbelt extender that should be proof positive that the passenger has to purchase two seats. Can you imagine being in a window seat and having to climb over - just for the bathroom let alone in an emergency.

I once saw a passenger whose body fat was hanging over into the aisle of the airplane.

It's the airline's duty to make sure every passenger has his space, i.e. the fat does not hang over the armrest. They should have denied the fatty boarding. Even without the injury part, I find it unacceptable that someone from neighboring seat can invade my space.

I ate a few times at Ruen Urai when I stayed at the Rose hotel. The food was delicious but I was always the only customer. Eating in a deserted restaurant is a bit uncomfortable.

The Mango Tree also serves nice food but I think it's overpriced. Still, my "friend" likes it and I have no complaints if he wants to eat there.

Two of my favourite restaurants are Kazan Tonkotsu ramen just last Patpong market when heading towards Soi Twilight, and Ros Niyom in the basement of Silom Complex.

Both serve very spicy food. "Kazan" in Japanese means "volcano" so that gives you an idea how hot the ramen is. Ros Niyom serves Thai street food and has some innovative dishes.

If you have a sweet tooth, try the various Japanese dessert cafes on the "canal" in the basement of Siam Paragon. They serve incredible Western-style desserts with a Japanese flair. Awesome!

For those that use the gay hook-up apps, keep an eye out for the tell-tale signs that a guy is looking for High Fun and keep well clear
    e.g.
-HF, CF or Chems written in their name or profile - means they want High Fun or Chemical Fun, same with "chem friendly", avoid!
-PNP Means Party & Play and is same as Chemical Fun
-Emojis of Snowflakes or Snowmen - means they are either selling or have Cocaine or Ice and want High fun, avoid!
-Emojis of Clouds or airplanes - usually means they are already high/flying high and are looking for someone to come and prolong the session, avoid!
-Emojis of Syringes - usually means that they want to slam (inject directly into the vein) these are the worst kind, so should be absolutely avoided

Scooby, you might want to consider this for the knowledge base. I plan on trying the apps next trip and I would never have known this. I'm adding it to my own google keep.

There are plenty of naïve posters on this board that are lacking in knowledge of the local drug culture when it comes to Thailand, and in particular when it comes to the gay scene...

Burying your head in the sand does not make an issue go away.

For me drug awareness education is as important as safe sex education.
When users take Ice they lose their sexual inhibition and are more likely to engage in unsafe sex

The entire staff call out "irasshaimase" (Welcome!) as you enter, the bar is absolutely spotless, the guys are incredibly polite, they bow and thank you when you ask them to sit with you, they shower you with compliments and pour your drink for you. And the waiters apologise for taking your money when you pay your bill!
    Lol

    Back on topic..

I was at Nice Boys tonight with a good friend.
There were so many boys on the stage, some were almost falling off. Quite a few Asian customers but few
Farangs. I offed a masculine lad and had a great time. I’ve learned to exchange LINE contacts with boys, so
it’s easy to see them when the bar is closed. Easy to block or delete when ones interest wanes.
One great thing about Nice Boys, is you see it all in the bar and never have to deal with surprises like mooks or
    silicon.

Boyz Music Show Bar is live music, drums, guitars, singers and boys. Opening night had many customers dancing and
having fun. The gogo boys were all over, in the bar, out in the soi. Very easy to meet and friendly.
The day of the older gay farang has passed and the target is the Asian customers, gay and straight, male and
    female.
That’s the point and the way to survive and thrive for this boy bar. The formula for success is the Asian market.
Toy Boys is next door and will benefit from the increased numbers of punters, drawn to Boyztown by Boyz Music.

I forgot that I promised an update on Err Infinity (a very strange name for a host club!). I asked my friend to get his friend’s thoughts....according to her, she didn’t enjoy it very much. Possibly because she went on a weekday, it was quite crowded but no live shows or much entertainment, mainly drinking and people watching. It is open until 4 am so most people arrive at 1 am after other venues close. Very local crowd, lots of good looking Thai girls in their 20s and the hosts seem catered to this market. Also seems that the real life girlfriends of the host boys will bring their friends so there is lots of socialising amongst themselves. The boys were very attractive and lots of them. You can call a manager over and he will line up about ten boys with a flashlight for you to pick from. She also said there was an older couple with a table, and a gay man who had four boys to himself. So they are accepting of gay male patrons too.
