  1. Hey Olddaddy : good luck with your specialist appointment. Despite the cost the outcome hopefully will give a definitive diagnosis and treatment.

I am not a doctor but a few observations:

    i) Has a connection with Covid being ruled out? An attack on the throat is a common system of Covid;

    ii) I know u say you have taken anti biotics but in the event that the specialist appointment is inconclusive (or even if it is) maybe try  a combination of different anti biotics until you get  the problem cured;

iii) if they cannot diagnose the problem and fix it, then just fix it without knowing the cause....or is that unsatisfactory?

    Take care,

    😊

  2. Olddaddy writes after telling his doctor about rimming:

"he sat in his seat ...looking like he was shocked...😳😳😳he didn't speak like for a few seconds staring at me .

he didn't say anything then said loudly...almost urgently..." We need to give you a full sexual health check up immediately!!!!!"

-Seems you in a clinic or with a doctor who ( quite wrongly )dissapproves of your lifestyle. Its not for him to judge.

Can you not go to a place or a clinic that is more welcoming?

I grew up in a small city in Scotland, and my brother, who was five years older than me, was also gay, but rather than helping or supporting me through the bad times he made it worse for me. He got married and had two children, while still being even more camp than me. When I came out to my parents in my mid twenties as I was leaving Scotland for the joys of London, my mother's only response was to ask "What about your brother?", to which my only response was "ask him dear". I last saw my brother at our mother's funeral more than twenty years ago. I still hate him for all he did to me. In my teenage years I tried to kill myself three times, once with a paracetamol overdose that nearly worked. I am now in my mid sixties and have lived in Pattaya for eleven years and having a happy retirement after being kicked out of my job for being gay at the age of 52. Sorry for being so boring, I will shut up now.

Yes not boring: try to stay hoppy😃

    Hi all,

It is my first time to go to Thailand. Just wondering. I saw many posts talking about going to massage and having real sex for 1000 b tip minimum. But what if i dont want real sex? What if i just want a handjob or blow job and just touch the masseur? Would there be any places like this with lower min tips?

    thanks in advance!

Good advice given here to the OP.

Make sure that you are clear and agree the price including tip before the massage. Ideally agree with the masseure exactly what is expected and what will be paid before the massage. If the massage is good and the happy ending as you want no reason not to give extra if you feel it appropriate.

  5. Interesting the important issue Londoner raises with taking a younger guy into the straight world and getting bad vibes etc from straights esp Karen types.

Anyone got any ideas how to handle this?

I suppose just adopting the attitude not to care less what others think but easier said than done.

Seems unfair that straights can come to our scene such as Soi 4 in Bangkok and no problem; but try bringing a gay boy with you to a straight dominated area and things are different...or am I being too sensitive?

  6. OP writes:

"To be brutally honest I had sex without a condom probably 90% of the time whilst in Asia"

    Well done for your honesty.

I have a straight friend who when in Thailand does not use a condom and a straight relative the same when in bkk; a gay top farang acqaintance  also living in bkk says he never uses one.

Seems with a lot of guys PREP causes them to think they are safe and likely they are from HIV but there are a number of other diseases they are not safe if doing bare back.

Whilst I can understand  non-usage of condoms as the feeling is better it is probably wiser to use....

May i ask anyone here what their views are on Monkeypox?

Seems in the western world the main ones affected are in our circle.

    Hello Shonen,

Interesting what you wrote.  You are the FIRST SIDE person that I have met here in any of the forums.

We are a hard to find sub-species within the community.  Only recently, Grindr has finally given us our own distinct sexual preference category.  For many years now with PlanetRomeo - I have been asking them to also give us the SIDE category - but they continue to be reluctant - another form of discrimination within the community.  Oh well, the struggle and fight goes forward.

Shonen - thanks for being brave to share your SIDE pleasure.  More of us need to come out of the closet in order to feel safe when we sometimes receive ridicule from the people who belong to the 3 traditional categories of Top, Versatile, and Bottom.  I believe that there is a need and space to add a 4th category to our traditional set of 3 categories.

Dr. Joe Kort's announcement about GRINDR adding SIDE as a new sexual position category

    SIDE definition and anecdotes

Nothing new here: "Side" is another way to say "No anal".

  8. Thank you Olddaddy for the interesting topic.

Maybe its only me but i have found that a fair few of the people on certain  dating apps give misleading profiles and photos. Either "doctored" photo's or old photos and sometimes photos of someone else.

Their plan is once they get in your door even though they are not the same as their profile/photo the customer will still take the bait.

    Often it works!

  9. It is not normal. Possibly the boy had a bad experience when a cutomer did not pay him after sex.

But that is not your problem.

And anyway maybe he perfomed badly with another customer and non payment or lesser payment was justified.

Leaving payment to the end is an incentive for the boy to do well; paying up front is the opposite.

  10. Done it now for 3 years plus in BKK and no problem. A few times need to wait a while to get the receipt returned but apart from that all OK. You need to send it in by registered post and also I have found its also useful the self addressed return envelope should also be stamped and registered. As an added security measure when getting the return envelope stamped etc at the post office take a photo of the envelope with the registered number on it and before putting it in the envelope to Immigration.

  11. Thank you TotallyOz for this very useful update.

I have read the first part of the Intervac update which reads:

"Registration for COVID-19 vaccination appointments on ThailandIntervac.com has already been closed, but the Department of Disease Control has adapted the service to make it more convenient and secure for foreigners in Thailand to register. The new vaccine appointment method will be via booking in advance or “pre-registration” with the following hospitals.

Notes: Pre-registration is registration to express intention to receive the COVID-19 vaccination at one of the designated hospitals. After registration, you must wait for the appointment confirmation from the hospital for the vaccine as per the proposed date and time.

Notes: Pre-registration is registration to express intention to receive the COVID-19 vaccination at one of the designated hospitals. After registration, you must wait for the appointment confirmation from the hospital for the vaccine as per the proposed date and time."

-So my reading of this is no need to try to register with Intervac but book directly with the hospital?

    Or have I misunderstood it?

    Thx.

  12. "As expected, the Thai government has given the green light for Bangkok’s nightlife to re-open with some  degree of normality.

At a meeting on  Monday afternoon, it was confirmed that bars, pubs and restaurants can now open until 11pm and serve alcohol. Live music is also permitted but dancing is not allowed.

The move comes as the Thai capital and surrounding areas were among a number of provinces to be downgraded from a ‘High Controlled Area (red) to Controlled Area (orange).

Other provinces downgraded to the Controlled Area include Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Tak, Ratchaburi, Samut Songkhram and Nakhon Pathom.

Only Samut Sakhon remains under the highest level of restrictions, with bars and pubs there ordered to remain closed.

When the new measures will go into effect will depend on the provincial governor of each  province, with announcements due imminently.

At the time of posting, the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority is yet to make an announcement on when the re-opening would come into effect, although it is expected bars and pubs  will  be able to re-open as  early as  Tuesday (23 Feb)."

  13. " I don't know what to do"/" I have no doubt what they have told me is the truth."

    Dear oh dear....

Is this posting for real or what?

On the one hand these neighbours are living in a place with no electric for months and seem to only have a tomato to eat; but then again they take a daily taxi to stock up at the supermarket...

    hmmm...

And you OP... give em a loan and then bring them 3 bottles of wine...and later on give them more money...

    hmmm..

    Have you heard the expression:

' every good deed deserves to be punished'?

Surely its for their embassy or relatives, etc to sort out, not you?!

Probably they have been sponging/scrouging many others already and you are a 'sucker" whom they think can provide them more...and more...and more...

Likely their visa have run out and they are living here illegally but who knows...and who cares...it ain't your problem unless you continue to make it so.

Sometime have to be firm and its kinder to say:

'I have helped enough. DO NOT ask for anything more.'

    (ie = Be a man)...

For people who are or want to live in Thailand its crucial to have sufficient money for living expenses and proper health insurance. If not then:

    Return home, voluntarily or not..

  14. Interesting post.

My understanding is that the Oxford vaccine is on its way to Thailand.. or here already.and I thought I read that the private sector can purchase

    a quantity.

Also some Euro countries try to claim the Oxford Vaccine not effective for those over 65; the issue has been denied by both the UK and the WHO.( But is a clue to what Bumrungrad may soon be offering as survey aimed at under 65's).

So my guess is Bumrungrad will soon be  privately offering the Oxford vaccine....just my speculation!

  15. Thai media Siam Rath went down to Pattaya to investigate after the words "La Laew Pattaya" - Goodbye Pattaya - were trending on Facebook site Pattaya Talk.

It appeared that everyone was loading their possessions onto pick-ups and heading back to the villages.

There were supportive comments but there was no hiding the abject depression.

Pattaya, once packed full of tourists  and life especially in the high season is now deserted.

To confirm this Siam Rath went to the resort and saw that many apartment complexes were for sale or lease - some didnt have a single person staying in them any more.

Phasakorn Suntharot - the owner of Suntharot Apartment - said that his tenants started to leave during the first wave of the pandemic. Then just when it looked like there was to be a recovery along came the second wave.

His tenants were all people who worked in the entertainment industry and they have just gone home to save money.

He has just one room rented out now.

Pattaya has nothing left, he lamented.
