My friend's disability was that he used a wheelchair of sorts. As far as "hit on" he literally did like to punch his lad  in the abdomen which amused him. The lad was given warnings of the upcoming punch.

Not necessarily; a friend was at the facility in Chiang Mai and did hit on at least one male attendant.

Putin does speak both, German and English - the former much better than the latter - but he always uses interpreters in official meetings where English is needed. Trump’s literacy, in any language (including English), is questionable at best.

There are now in Thailand quite a number of assisted care homes that are far more attractive than perhaps we expect. I know of three just outside Chiang Mai. One elderly Thai friend whose partner had just left him after he was diagnosed with the onset of Alzheimers moved to one on an island just upriver of Chiang Mai 18 months ago. He loves it. He has his own room with en suite, a lovely garden setting, communal dining room, daily nursing care and plenty of buzzers for unexpected emergencies. His facility also has half a dozen daily return minibus trips in to Chiang Mai. Best of all the all-in monthly cost is far lower than he expected. I'm not sure of the exact price but will post it when I next speak to him.

In Sunee Plaza there are two go-go bars (Nice Boy and Winner Boys) and two beer bars, Green Chairs (few, if customers, and One Bar with few customers. Winner Boys does have an outside area for drinking.

For the uninitiated, the definition of Karen  from the Slang Dictionary website:
Karen is a pejorative slang term for an obnoxious, angry, entitled, and often racist middle-aged white woman who uses her privilege to get her way or police other people’s behaviors.
As featured in memes, Karen is generally stereotyped as having a blonde bob haircut, asking to speak to retail and restaurant managers to voice complaints or make demands, and being an anti-vaxx , Generation X soccer mom.
In 2020, Karen spread as a label used to call out white women who were captured in viral videos engaging in what are widely seen as racist acts.

I am with my guy 20 years this November
At time he was just gone 18 and I was 10 years older than him (and had a lot more hair!)
We are in an open relationship and have had a lot of 3somes, 4somes and room relays (him and his boy, then me and my boy, then perhaps the 2 of us and one of the boys or another pick up)
These days we have settled down a lot more, but I would never dream of trading him in!

Your wallet is an indivisible part of who you are. Discussions about would someone love if you didn't have a wallet are as pointless as conversations about if you would be loved if didn't have a good heart(both physical and emotional) or a good character or attitude or personality or cock or education or outlook.............

Very true - and very sad. He had posted on this Board about his cancer which he had had treated in the King Chulalongkorn public hospital near Lumphini Park. He raved about the treatment he received and said it was a small fraction of what he would have had to pay in the private hospitals. Unfortunately he either had no medical insurance or very little. So when the cancer returned he had no money for more treatment. I recall he wrote he stayed with friends in Bangkok who let him sleep on their sofa. And then he passed away.
No matter what your feelings about him, it was a very sad way to die. It also brought back on to the forum the absolute necessity of members who live in Thailand having some form of insurance to cover costly on-going medical treatment.

I had to read that twice and am now desperate to learn the larger back-story to this, even though there are recognisable shades of this permutating my own 'romances' in Thailand.
I do have a boyfriend now, although I share him with a Swiss guy. When he is with me I am No. 1, when he is with Mr Switzerland he is No 1. Kinda works in an odd way. Fortunately we both holiday at different times with the lad, but I do kinda wonder who is his No 1 when neither of us are in town? 🤣
At the end of the say we will each have a different story (or stories!) to tell, but as long as we are happy with whatever relationship(s) we have, surely that is all that matters?

Crabby/Michael was the owner of Corner Bar back then; the name of his younger partner was Thomas, but they were not father & son and they  did return to USA.
Michael bought Corner Bar from a man by the name of Gary.
Regarding LMTU (Let Me Tell You) there were those who admired him and others who loathed him. He died a painful death from a form of throat cancer.
Neal did die on a plane on the way to USA .

We are not doing a scientific research here.  But I bet the vast majority of the farang and boy relationships involve money, or free rent, free food, free trips.
And that is totally fine as long as it works for both parties.

I grew up in a small city in Scotland, and my brother, who was five years older than me, was also gay, but rather than helping or supporting me through the bad times he made it worse for me. He got married and had two children, while still being even more camp than me. When I came out to my parents in my mid twenties as I was leaving Scotland for the joys of London, my mother's only response was to ask "What about your brother?", to which my only response was "ask him dear". I last saw my brother at our mother's funeral more than twenty years ago. I still hate him for all he did to me. In my teenage years I tried to kill myself three times, once with a paracetamol overdose that nearly worked. I am now in my mid sixties and have lived in Pattaya for eleven years and having a happy retirement after being kicked out of my job for being gay at the age of 52. Sorry for being so boring, I will shut up now.

Not so sure about that! Some may have wealth but not health; others have health but no wealth; and many are in the middle. They are financially ok but not in the best of health.

I am a twin and gay, but my twin is straight; and a twin friend is gay but his twin in straight. Likely because we are not identical twins which means we do not share the same DNA unlike identical twins.

Old age has its blessings...possibly...but one problem in store for you youngsters, if you stay healthy, is to see your friends and family die before you. Make the most of these relationships while you can.

If there is a flip side to the anxiety and pain--and for some, wasted years of suppression--there remains the fact that many of us would have never made our way to Thailand as a way of escaping the psychic straitjacket that ruled our lives for far too long.
Irregardless of where we're from, that's the commonality that many of us here share. Younger men who grew up in a different era may have difficulty in appreciating what harm bigots can do, even when those bigots are close family members.
It's only when someone unexpectedly open up about it (and that seems to occur when the topic is about something else altogether) that we acknowledge that we're more alike than we are different. So if the forum can serve as a vehicle of catharsis, so much the better.
