What the hell, at least it provided my chuckle of the morning. Restoration of some of Allen's work has brought back mostly happy memories for me.....so thanks for that. While I am in the minority, I do believe that if you owe a site you own the rights to the content forever and for someone to dig up old stuff to post is wrong. That said, since GayButton and Surfcrest are OK with it, I have started backing up their sites just in case they pass gently into the good night and that way, we will be able to save all those conversations forever. (just kidding guys, I would never do that) How can a dead person own anything? He can leave it to his estate, but then they own it. If he did not make provisions to leave it to anyone, I suggest that he abandoned it. We cannot let gay history just evaporate. So I think Moses is doing the right thing here by helping to preserve history. He is not, as I understand it, claiming that this is his work. It's not a big moneymaker. So I see him as doing a service. When Hooboy died, his family could have profited from his escort-related website, but they chose not to. It died and that history is gone. At least I don't know how to resurrect it. But one couldn't, in that case, because we know it is owned by the estate. That does not seem to be the case with the material Moses is working with. I would be fine with someone pointing out that I am wrong, but you wouldn't have to say I was "fucking wrong!' Thank you! Just say that I am totally wrong, or partially wrong, and why. I had an aunt died a few years back that was beloved by the entire family and only 3 out of 15 of us took time to help her in the last years of her life even though she helped every one of us. Many could not do it and it did not mean they didn't love her or she them. Some are just incapable of watching this happen to someone and I don't begrudge them what they had when they were livelier. Some of us believe that old phrase "In sickness and in health." I know that I do. However, I am not speaking here of commercial relationships. In that case, whatever is offered is a bonus. People do have gratitude for employment or other opportunities and may choose to reward by helping out in troubled times for the employer. He was an exceptional tour guide, translator and organiser. He was not using it as a cover for plying prostitution. He spent long hours during the day showing me many of the tour sites and providing an excellent history. In the evening he took me to the shows and it was great to be able to watch without being pestered by anyone. He spent lots of time trying to find what I was interested in and pointing out boys that might suit me. At no point did he try to sell himself.
