Technical question for the owner and moderator: Problem is when I spot an embarrassing spelling, grammar or factual error in a post I put made previously. I have since logged out. Now I want to correct the error and log in again. Yet I am unable to get an "edit" icon/option on the old post for me to make the change. I only get an "edit" option provided I am still in the same login session. On all other boards, when the board sees that I was the writer of the previous post, even if there was a logout in between, it permits me to edit old posts. How would this be done here?

Residents in the Jomtien Complex area will be glad to know that there is a lot of work going on in that big white elephant that's been empty for years. They've torn out walls and gutted the inside of the first floor. There are also new awnings on the second floor. There is a sign on the chain link fence around the perimeter that says a "Bon Marche" will be openning "1 - 8 - 2010". Does anyone know what a Bon Marche is? I assume it's French and hope it means a supermarket.

In the Thai language "moo" means pork. On the access road at the Big-C at the junction of Pattaya Tai and Sukhumvit there is a row of shop houses. One of them, between the parking lot entrance and Sukhumvit is Mr. Moo. I've passed by many times, but yesterday I stopped in to see what they carry. He has quite a good selection of pork products, including several different sausages, one of which is labeled "American Sausage," something difficult to find in Pattaya at reasonable prices. He also has a variety of different types of bacon, British style meat pies, etc. His prices are quite reasonable and apparently he does the curing and packaging himself. I decided…

Some advance information about the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra's new Great Artists Series which has been on the go since 2007. The 2010 Series starts with return visits by virtuoso violinist Sarah Chang and conductor Giordano Bellincampi who gave a stunning account of the Brahms concerto last summer. On March 31st, Chang plays the Bruch 1st Violin Concerto. Other works are Rossini's Gazza Ladra (Thieving Magpie) overture and Brahms First Symphony. I was surprised to see several hundred red shirt clad folks congregating on Thepprasit here in Jomtien. They were all gathered for a concert, but the number there and the sea of red shirts was surprising. It seemed peaceful enough, but there apparently are a large number of sympathizers here.

As I predicted in another thread, now that the Thaksin verdict has been handed down so far nothing at all has happened. It's a perfectly normal day. Again, the only way you would know anything is going on would be to read the newspapers or watch TV. To my mind, the big questions now are: 1. Is Thaksin's influence and power in Thailand dead now? 2. Despite the fact that so far nothing substantial has happened, does that mean it's over and nothing will happen as a result? 3. Hi guys, I'd appreciate any advice on finding competition level bodybuilders in Bangkok. The Mr. Thailand bodybuilding competiton is March 13 and 14th in Bangkok. I arrive March 20 for a week so I'm hoping to meet some guys who just finished competing and are in ripped shape. The holiday, Makha Bucha Day, which is a major Buddhist holiday, actually falls on Sunday, February 28. Since the holiday falls on a Sunday, the banks, government offices, and many businesses will be closed on Monday, March 1. I have not yet heard whether the bars will also close or, if they do close, whether it will be Sunday, Monday, or both. Last year it was left up to the individual bars to close or remain open for this holiday, their choice. Whether it will be the same this year remains to be seen. As you probably know, today is the long anticipated day in which the Thai Supreme Court renders its decision as to whether Thaksin gets to keep all of his money, part of his money, or if he has to forfeit all of it. The total amount is 76,621,603,061.05 baht. At current exchange rates that works out to about US $2,321,866,759. At the moment it is about 3:30PM. The verdict is in the process of being read and it will probably be a few hours before the outcome is known. I like much of the Thai food, but I can't eat "phet." "Phet" means spicy. "Mai Phet" means not spicy. "Mai ow phet" is what you say to a waiter when you don't want your food spicy. I think most of us are well aware that much of the Thai food is spiced up with loads of hot peppers. I've actually seen Thai friends eating foods so spiced up that tears are rolling down their cheeks when they eat. The first time I came to Thailand I had no idea they spice up their food like that.
