Recently went to Thailand (mid May) and here are a few observations on what was a different Bangkok but also reassuringly familiar. Thai Pass so easy and airport arrival and entry smoother and faster than ever. Bangkok is still really quiet, which brings advantages of low accommodation costs and always getting a seat in a restaurant. This trip was planned in outline by Bangkok Guy and then refined by me as I encountered the reality of logistics in Thailand. All air routes pass through Bangkok, you can’t simply fly direct city-to-city, and this consumes a lot of time. It was not possible to fit Bangkok Guy’s top three destinations into ten days and we settled on two, Chang Mai and Koh Lipe, with an overnight transit stop in Hat Yai because the flight arrivals and boat departures do not match up if your starting point is Chang Mai and you have to travel via Bangkok. No Covid issues this time. Bangkok Guy is double-vaccinated, Moderna as the second shot, bright eyed and looking forward to our trip. …

Just want to check, before I arrive, so I am not under-expecting: When they say “short time”, they never mean 1 hour (like in US / Europe, where it is strictly timed, and if you want more you have to pay the second hour at basically the same rate), in Thailand they mean a good 2 hours? Is there a market for even cheaper, for a really short time (1 hour) for the locals?

Looking at reports from others (ie not verified by me): 1 Some have the pass already 2 Others find it will not accept pdf attachments, only jpg and png 3 Many report API errors.
