I just moved to Thailand. I have a rental apartment which requires me to report my address every 90 days. I was told my landlord had to do this but they don't know the process. I am in Bangkok. How do I report my address on my own? Can I do this online? Can I do this without the landlords signature every time I enter?

You guys miss me?! Bcoz I miss writing report here...I just came back from Bangkok, Thailand and I want to share my best experience so far... Since there is "taste" in the title, I can say this trip is a "complete meal"...it got "appetizer" with my regular most fave boy, "main course" with my new super mega ultra crush, "side dish" with a bar I've never been before and a very cute boy and "dessert" with a very sweet twink, and sprinkled with "spices" when I met in person some members here who I consider my friends (and hopefully I can meet more on my next trip)...so are you guys hungry now?! Let's begin eating, lol... Starting off with "appetizer" in Dreamboys, …

From Khaosod English Gov’t Extends Foreigners’ Stay to July 31, Halts 90-Day Report BANGKOK — The government on Tuesday approved another round of automatic visa extension for foreigners residing in Thailand, this time for a further three months. Government spokeswoman Narumon Pinyosinwat said the Cabinet agreed with the plan proposed by the Immigration Bureau to permit foreigners whose visas had expired since March 26 to stay further until July 31 without having to apply for an extension at immigration offices. “The outbreak of COVID-19 in Thailand and other countries remains unresolved,” Naruemon said. “If we don’t extend permission to stay, foreigners…

From Bangkok Post Tourism minister to seek reprieve for overstayers The Tourism Ministry will seek a reprieve for some 500,000 tourists who will end up overstaying their visa now that countries in Europe have started sealing their borders to deal with Covid-19. "Most of the remaining tourists are long-stay elderly travellers from Germany, Italy and Russia who spend their winters here. They came to Thailand before the virus hit their hometowns and decided not to return home. They fear not receiving sufficient healthcare [upon returning home during such dire circumstances]," said Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn. European countries hav…

The governor of one of the six provinces comprising metropolitan Bangkok late Tuesday afternoon imposed a curfew on all citizens to stem the spread of the coronavirus. All of Nonthaburi province, which sprawls northwest of downtown, will observe an 11pm to 5am curfew starting tomorrow under order of Gov. Suchin Chaichumsak. In his signed order, Suchin exempted cargo carriers. Bangkok is a special administrative region rather than province; the curfew does not apply within its borders. https://coconuts.co/bangkok/news/curfew-imposed-over-large-portion-of-metro-bangkok/ This is expected to be just the start as other area may follow soon.

Well this explains why I saw a couple of boys posting on social media that they were off to the gold shop yesterday and then proudly showing off wads of 1000 baht bills. Despite the lockdown they are quite comfortable and not in desperate need of cash, so it confused me until I saw this. https://www.nationthailand.com/news/30385978?utm_source=category&utm_medium=internal_referral

I saw the sign below in a Bangkok pharmacy today. Overall, there are still facemasks available, but gel is much more difficult to find. If anyone wants to enlighten me by showing exactly where to find it, I would be delighted. I still suggest anyone travelling to Thailand brings their own. Even if I were making a big error and alcohol gel is currently available after searching more carefully than I have, if the number of infections were to increase markedly, the stuff would sell out. Also, I found it easier to find a good quality FFP3 facemask back in the UK (Screwfix). Unfortunately, my mask is not exactly fresh after being worn for air pollution i…

A term in common use in some contracts may be worth becoming familiar with in view of the current environment. Extracted from Wikipedia Force majeure meaning "superior force", also known as cas fortuit (French) or casus fortuitus (Latin) "chance occurrence, unavoidable accident", is a common clause in contracts that essentially frees both parties from liability or obligation when an extraordinary event or circumstance beyond the control of the parties, such as a war, strike, riot, crime, plague, virus or an event described by the legal term act of God (hurricane, flood, earthquake, volcanic eruption, etc.), prevents one or both parties from fulfilling their obli…

From Coconuts Bangkok The infamous beach town of Pattaya may seal itself off for three weeks starting Thursday. District chief Amnat Sricharoenannounced Tuesday that he has petitioned the provincial governor to close Pattaya’s borders to all transportation for 21 days starting Thursday to stem the COVID-19 pandemic. The popular gulf enclave is home to many foreigners, and its high numbers of commercial sex workers make it a premier destination for sex tourists. Pattaya has seen 23 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with one Russian national dying of the disease on April 1. Amnat said stricter measures, if approved, would include a travel lockdown on people c…

Excerpted from Bangkok Post Thai returnees told to report for state quarantine Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has ordered 152 Thais who landed at Suvarnabhumi airport on Friday afternoon and refused to enter state quarantine to report themselves before 6pm on Saturday so that they can be put into state facilities. A total of 158 Thais — 103 from Japan, 11 from Qatar and 44 from Singapore — landed at the airport at 1pm on Friday, Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, a spokesman for the government's Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, said on Saturday. But only six of them agreed to be sent to a place prepared by authorities, which is a hotel in Bangkok.…

Trying to predict the future is often an exercise in futility but I won't let that keep me from giving it a try. When what eventually became known as Covid19 first began to get the attention of posters, the general sentiment of the board was that it's being overblown and the Silom/Patong scene would muddle through. Not an unreasonable assumption because at the time it was almost exclusively a China-centric issue. The first indications that it might be a bit more serious than that was a steady decline in tourists arriving into Bangkok. But most, myself included, assumed it would be a temporary setback. Fast forward a few months and we know that was short-sighted. …

Excerpted from Khaosod English What It’s Like to Catch, and Survive, the Coronavirus in Thailand BANGKOK — Speaking from his condo, Singaporean expat Jay Feng asked other people currently in self-isolation at their homes to stay calm and not to panic. He knew a thing or two about the coronavirus; in fact, he survived it. Feng, who recovered several weeks after he first tested positive earlier this month, said he beat the virus by monitoring his symptoms early on, keeping a positive mindset even when he was in enormous physical pain, and relying on the sheer strength of his immune system. Plus a well-covered insurance plan. “The most important thing is t…

The beach seems quite busy still, with pimps, streetwalkers and farang milling around. Social distancing not being observed and I'm surprised by the number of elderly farang still on the beach and not isolating themselves. Everyone has an equal chance of being infected by this virus if exposed to it but the impact on the elderly and those with pre-existing medical conditions (COPD, asthma, heart disease, hypertension, etc) is worse. Click on the link below for the video. Please take care, everybody. https://youtu.be/dwLZbmO41ao

Various government agencies have issued conflicting information to in-bound travelers this week that could affect their arrival status. These involve flight origin and transit locations. If booking flights to Thailand, it seems prudent that we fully understand the implications of the latest statement. Having to self quarantine for two weeks if your traveling through any of the evolving list of locations (even as a transit only passenger) could take two weeks out of your trip. If there was ever a time to purchase flexible tickets, or those that can be changed and/or cancelled at reasonable cost, this is that time because there is no way to know —at least at the…
