When Twilight lost out to development, one of the collateral losses was Maxi’s. And the face of Maxi’s was that of Pao the waiter par excellence. Always remembering the guests and their orders, his departure from Bangkok was a great loss. Reports, accurate and/or inaccurate, placed him up north working the land. One of the forum members now in Bangkok reports and has photo evidence that Pao has returned and is now a trainee waiter at Telephone. Kudos to Floridarob and PaulSF for keeping us informed.

Thanks to everyone for the information regarding the different massage shops in the area (shout-out to DivineMadman for that super helpful guide!). Anyone have any experience specifically with Ganymede or VCK? The guys there seem more of my type. Thanks!

  8. What are forum members favourite Tinglish expressions and words? To me they seem to fall into 4 categories. 1. Words i.e. Same same, motorcy, check bill, tee wee. 2. Compound English consonants i.e. tch, ks are difficult for Thai, so box and sex becomes bok and sek 3. Brand names rather than generic words i.e. bleach is Haiter, washing up liquid is Sunlight 4. Stress (') on the final syllable i.e. Compu'ter. Or, after many requests to a taxi driver to take me to the 'Sheraton, he says "Ah, you go Shera'ton"

Bangkok Since the last trip Bangkok Guy and I have added Line video chat to communication-by-sticker. Given our linguistic deficiencies, ‘chat’ is a bit of an over-statement. It is more face-reading – we both get to see that the other is well and happy. Apart from struggling through Chinese tour groups blocking the entrance to immigration while they receive their collective instructions, my journey is uneventful, just as I like it. After a brief nap I am up and bouncing and head for breakfast on the hotel’s riverside terrace. Over breakfast it dawns on me that I have not really thought through this choice of hotel. The concept is good. Find a…

Here I am discussing a possible long time off. The conversation has gone on for a while, with him seeming interested, but not exactly providing much clarity. So I decide to speed it up by specifying exact requirements. I then get a load of emojis. What exactly do these mean ? Rightly or wrongly, I decided this wasn't the clear unambiguous positive response I am looking for, so quickly fixed up someone else. Much easier. I've also had rainbow coloured ice cream emojis sent to me. No idea what this means. Should I be learning what all these mean ? And if so, how can I be sure there is a single meaning ? So far, when this happens, I just mo…

  11. I was back in Thailand for about a week, just over the last weekend. This was a trip that I really missed the boys right after, right from the flight back. Day 1 - 2 Decided to check out Pattaya for the first time, I would say I did not enjoy it and I’m not sure if I’ll give it a second chance. Travel fatigue may be a factor as I had a long travel day before reaching Pattaya and I moved around a bit just a few days before as well. BBB - Checked out BBB on both nights. The first night, the show has already started so I moved on after catching a bit of it. Went early the second night to see the boys line up, boys all fully dressed more than 20 of them. One cu…

Wonderful hotel, i always use it. Nice room, service is good. Abit ex but i dont travel to bkk on budget haha ( i come to bangkok to pamper myself) First up Arena. Inspired by CurtisD’s wonderful trip report to Myanmar, I thought I would continue the spin off discussion as to where one could travel with a boy companion to mutual enjoyment. I’m interested for any recommendations or suggestions within Myanmar as I’ve only been once to Yangon and don’t recall it as being easy to navigate particularly with a Thai boy in tow who has a specific palate. Philippines or KL are not for me as I find neither city charming, few sights, and if going to the beach, Thailand’s beaches are equally beautiful with the bonus of, well, being in Thailand with the food and language familiarity. So I guess I’m looking for either an easy adventure or a…

A few changes have been made and more are on the way. 1. I have merged the Michael, GayThailand, and Scooby accounts to be Michael as I needed to get notifications of replies to some content that I have not gotten. 2. We are purging all members who have not logged in in the last few years. Our database will dwindle to low numbers as anyone now logged in in past 3 years will be deleted from site. So, if you see something like guest_Richard, you will know that the member has not logged in for a while and thus, removed from the site. 3. We are cleaning up the front end and back end over the next few weeks. Lots of work but I think a much better system coming. …

From Bangkok Post Human transmission of coronavirus confirmed in Thailand Thailand has seen its first case of human-to-human transmission of the new coronavirus inside the country, a senior Public Health official said on Friday. The patient is a Thai taxi driver, Tanarak Pipat, deputy director-general of the Department of Disease Control, said on Friday. "The Thai person who was infected does not have a record of travelling to China and it is likely that he was infected by a sick traveller from China," Dr Tanarak said.Previous cases in Thailand have all been either Chinese tourists or Thais who had visited China, where the virus originated. This ra…

  18. Introduction This is my 17th trip of the Land of Smiles (does anyone call Thailand this name anymore?), after almost 16(!) months of being away. It has been far too long for sure, since I’ve had a pretty fun (and well-documented – from the trip reports here) history here, it’s quite puzzling that it took me this long to go back. Filtering the posts here to “Most Viewed”, after all this time, I find 5 of my trip reports are still there amongst the top, and having read most of them on the trip plane trip to Asia from the USA gave me a bit of nostalgia: But a lot of things have changed, least of all with me: in my personal life, and in my travel habits as …

  19. I thought i would put a new report on my Chiang Mai visit rather than add it to the end of my BKK report for clarity. After six days in BKK, I flew up to Chiang Mai last Thursday. Flew up with Bangkok Airways and despite nearly missing the flight (my own fault for not really allowing enough time for BKK traffic), the ride was smooth and efficient. One thing i did notice on the plane was the ration of westerners. At leat half the plane were westerners which surprised me a little. Yes, there are lots of Chinese in town, but proportionally I have seen far more westerners then in BKK. My expectations for boy action here were pretty low. Advice and observations from…

(Very early) Morning everyone, I finally made it to BKK arriving yesterday. It is a trip that has been a long time in the making and that i have look forward to for months now. I posted before Christmas thanking everyone who contributes to this forum - I wish that i have found it sooner. The info that people have posted here has been a fantastic help in preparing me for all the joys of Patpong and the boy bars. I was going to save up a few nights and post a review then, but fierce jetlag, combined with a bit of a cold that i developed the day before i left (thanks office colleagues that passed that on), I find myself up at 4.30am, so I thought i may as well ma…

Until recently I used PR in the classic mode, however that is not now available and the new version confuses me - it’s complicated. Does anyone know of any instructions for use ?. I’m in Pattaya shortly and will want to use it to contact boys.

From Bangkok Post City Hall has ordered about 20,000 personnel to start work at 10am instead of 8am and suspended classes at its 437 schools on Wednesday in its fight against unhealthy smog levels. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) came up with four urgent measures to deal with the hazardous ultra-fine dust levels in the air in the capital, said spokesman Pongsakorn Kwanmuang. The measures are the introduction of staggered working hours of 20,000 BMA personnel at City Hall in Sao Chingcha area and the BMA City Hall Tower 2 in Din Daeng, suspension of classes at all 437 BMA-run schools, distribution of face masks and campaigns to promote their us…

  24. Before i get started, I want to say a big thanks to all of the trip reports from you guys, I really enjoy reading all of your escapades and learnt a lot in preparation for my first trip! So a bit of a intro; I've never been to Thailand before but I'm fairly well traveled and not new to Asia in general or the pay for play scene. I'm not really sure why it has taken me this long to come to Thailand but better late than never. My preference is twinks so a lot of the guys i will focus on are 20-25yo slim bottom guys, sorry hunk muscle fans you can stop reading now. I will be staying in Bangkok for a week and a bit then Pattaya for 5 nights, with a few days reserved …

From BBC Dating app Grindr and a Twitter-owned advertising-tech firm have been accused of unlawfully sharing users' data. It is part of a wider investigation by the Norwegian Consumer Council (NCC) into the "out of control" advertising industry and profiling of customers. Along with four other ad-tech companies, they face huge fines if found to be in breach of EU data laws. Grindr said it was changing its consent platform while Twitter has temporarily disabled the relevant account. "We are currently investigating this issue to understand the sufficiency of Grindr's consent mechanism. In the meantime, we have disabled Grindr's MoPub account," Twitt…
