Despite the problems and complaints regarding life in Thailand, I think it can be said that Thailand is one of the most progressive countries in the world, perhaps the most progressive, regarding the rights, needs, and tolerance of those who are not heterosexual, i.e. gay and transgender. While some may regard it as weird that transgender toilets are beginning to appear in Thailand, in my opinion they represent at least someone recognizing that heterosexuality is not the only lifestyle available to humans. I have tried for years to understand why some come up with the screen names they choose. It is easy for some and hard for others. A group of us wanted to celebrate the birthday of a friend. He wanted to go to Café New Orleans in Boyztown area so that is where we went. There were about 10 of us and we split the bill and picked up the tab for the Birthday guy. The restaurant is located in the center of Boyztown between BoyzBoyzBoyz and Pattayaland Soi 1 and 2. It is actually almost right across from the back area of BoyzBoyzBoyz and on the same street as Panarama. The place is well decorated and clean. The waiters are attentive and all speak English. To celebrate the Birthday of a friend we went to Body Language with about 15 Thai boys. Body Language was not as full as I had seen in the past and there were fewer customers and I attribute this to the number of other discos in the area now. But, this is a real gay disco and not a mixed crowd and with sexy coyote dancers. It is a real treat in Pattaya. The manager is nice and reserved a good table for us up front. In a politically-loaded ruling, Criminal Court on Thursday found Pojaman Shinawatra - wife of coup-ousted premier Thaksin - guilty of tax evasion in a 1997 share transaction, court official said. Lately I have been helping people obtain their retirement visa and set up Thai bank accounts. Don't forget, without a Thai bank account you're not going to get the retirement visa. It is now quite difficult to open a Thai bank account if you arrive on the 30-day privilege. The Villa Rouge is back open in Sunee Plaza. This time it is all 18 and up and the owner says it will stay that way. Most of the guys were from the old Top Man but the location is excellent and they had a nice selection of guys and I hope that continues to improve. The place has had a very jaded history but it does look like the message has been loud and clear and they seem to be set on keeping everything legal. This place just seems to keep me happy on every trip. I was in Bangkok yesterday on Business and went there shortly after they opened. There were few boys but the ones they had were sexy.
