I'm looking to rent a house in Pattaya for a year or longer and anticipate dealing with Fair Properties. This is a pretty big commitment. Several posters have raised the question that if Thaksin becomes a fugitive from Thai justice, then what country would grant him asylum? My own guess is that Thaksin would not have done this if he didn't have something solid up his sleeve. I think we'll know soon enough just what that might be. I can't help but wonder what would have happened if his wife had not been granted bail and/or had her passport revoked. This place is wonderful and the food is always excellent. I have been eating there at least once a week if not more for over a month and have really enjoyed it each time. Their pasta is excellent and they have a chef from Italy that delivers up great tastes for each dish. The food is not cheap and averages about 400 bath for a dish. I had the steak last week wrapped in bacon and mushrooms and it was divine. Their deserts are also excellent. Gian's is located right next to Bruno's and on the way to Jomptien.

I heard that last week a raid in Future Boys took place and all boy s and customers were asked for ID and a pee test. Anyone have any confirmation on this or hear anything else?

A large group of policemen invaded the Plaza tonight. The checked all the ID's of Thai guys entering to or exiting the plaza from all known entrances and exits. They also checked out the ID's of many doormen and everyone on the street. Anyone that looked like they were someone that would do Yabba aka a hip hop boy, they took for a pee test. I had been told the raid would either happen on Friday or Saturday and it did just like clockwork. It seems that the BIB are content on cleaning up the plaza and scarring off all the guys. I had a reservation on the Thai air direct flight from LAX to BKK in mid-November. It was to leave LAX at about 9 p.m. and arrive in Bangkok at about 6 a.m. on Monday morning. I was then going to shuttle over to Don Muang (sp) and catch a 2:30 flight to Ubon Ratchathani. Now with the changes, I leave LAX at 12:30 pm on Saturday (guess I can't go to Hollywood Park for the horse races before I leave to BKK) and arrive in BKK at 11:40 p.m. on Suday evening after a fuel stop in Osaka, Japan. On CNBC yesterday, Tony Tyler, head of Cathay Pacific, indicated the airline is carefully looking at the viability of its flights ex the USA. The implication is that the airline will reduce capacity. Some reductions have already been announced for its Vancouver and Toronto services, and it seems these are bound to be followed by other reductions from JFK, LAX, and SFO. The comments follow Cathay's announcement of a loss of around US$85 million in the last financial year against a profit of more than $300 million the year before.
