The final two days of an ASEAN summit – Nov. 4 & 5 – were made government holidays Tuesday to alleviate traffic congestion, government spokeswoman Traisulee Traisoranakul announced. The holidays will only be in effect in Bangkok and Nonthaburi province, where the summit will be held Oct. 31 to Nov. 5 at Impact Muang Thong Thani. Long ago, i read an article saying that Bali Hai Pier and Pattaya train station (not sure which one) being cruisy place at the midnight. Can anyone confirm if they're still now? I'll be back Pattaya early of November and stay for 4 nights. To be honest, I'm done with Boys Town and Sunee Plaza, also dont want waste time on gay apps. On my last visit to Pattaya (in 2017), i did some jogging at midnight around Bali Hai Pier and saw some boys walking around near parking lot. Not sure if they were on hunting or just taking some rest before driving home. I stayed there for one hour but nothing happened so i went back hotel. Not know if i had been there right time.

Anticipation (This report is with quite a lag) In the car leaving the airport the usual excitement is tinged with a little apprehension as this trip I am moving out of my habitual comfort zone. Ok so I rarely (if ever) write trip reports and this will be more of a synopsis of my travels in Thailand & Vietnam from Late Aug to Early Sept. I saw on a friends Facebook page where he went to the bus station again. This time I don't see anything where he went anywhere further. A post from one of his freinds says something about him selling himself there. At first I was a little angry at his friends post. Hi all! A quick thanks to everyone that posts their advice, it has been very helpful! Heading to Chiang Mai in December for my 3rd trip to Thailand and would like your advice on expected tips for freelance massage guys from Romeo that come to your hotel. Seems the average quote I am receiving is 800 baht for 2 hour B2B, however I am not sure what they are expecting for a tip. In the shops in both CM and BKK 1000 was the expected minimum. I have searched the forums and have not found much, your thoughts would be greatly appreciated! I know tropical weather forecasting is inaccurate. I'd like some thoughts or advice regarding apps or services that show relatively accurate weather forecasts for the upcoming hours. For example, if I decide to go to the weekend market, I want to verify an hour before I leave my hotel, that it's not raining in BKK for the next 4 hours. Any ideas? Mission impossible?

Thai Immigration announces that foreitners will no longer have to fill out the TM6 when entering Thailand and that they will soon make it easier to file a TM30 online and the 90 day report. I do a yearly health check up plan at Bumrungrad. I find the level of service excellent and the care of the staff amazing. They offer prearranged packages and I also get an HIV test at the same time. Everything is done in less than 4 hours and the results are with you and you are on your way out the door. I have not had a colonoscopy for ages but now over 50. The doctor said I need to have one so I have one scheduled in a few months. How often do others get these? Does anyone use the checkups in local hospitals? I’ve been reading a great deal lately about the new enforcement of the requirement for landlords to file a TM30 every time a foreign renter or guest leaves their permanent residence. Have any of you run into this? There is a great deal of discussion on Richard Barrow’s blog and in the Bangkok Post. It seems to have developed into quite a headache for everyone involved.

In the early spring, tempted by some low airfares, I planned to spend the last week of August in Hong Kong, meet with local friends, eat well and enjoy a favaorite city. When I went to book my hotel, the demonstrations had begun...but being a genius, I looked at where the demos were happening and booked a hotel in another part of town. Have you been to Hat Yai? I really enjoyed my visit there. They have really good food with mix of Thai and Chinese. There is also one of the best floating markets I've visited and a fantastic stainless steel temple that you can climb into. Reading in a thread here that some people prefer arriving around 11 pm in Bangkok with their plane, I got the following question, because I always arrive in late morning and below "issue" does not occur. Hotel check in times are normally after noon (12.00), or even after 2 pm. So if you arrive 11 pm then you will arrive at your hotel around 01.00 am or so. Say this is a Monday. Can you then check in? I mean it's before check in time. Or must you have booked a room from Sunday to Monday also? I assume if you booked Monday to Tuesday as your first day, you won't be able to check in.
