Do any board members have recommendations for tailors in Bangkok ? It's years since I've been to a tailor there and am thinking of doing so on my next visit, so was wondering if anyone had recent knowledge or experience with any. Thanks

I had some friends from the USA who wanted to see Pattaya for a few days and I took them for a visit. It was not a gay bar visit as this was a straight couple from the USA. We stayed at the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel and it was great. Beautiful view, great room, good breakfast, and good service. I didn’t book the room, so I don’t know the rate, but breakfast was 715 baht for extra guests. https://www.royalcliff.com/ We had one dinner at Natan’s in Jomtien. It was excellent. Beautiful restaurant, good food and tasted great. I had a crepe and it was very good and I had a good dessert. The service was excellent and I was happy with the food. https://www.tripadv…

I have been grateful to learn so much from the reviews of others over the years. Now I have just returned from my most recent visit to Bangkok, I thought I would share my experiences with everyone. It is certainly a time of change around the gogo bar scene in Bangkok just at the moment. I will include my observations of some of the new bars, alongside the old. Day 1 Flight arrived at 7pm. Quickly through fast-track immigration and bags rapidly available. Traffic into the city was terrible. This might be usual on a Friday night or possibly because of the celebrations for the Kings coronation over the weekend. Settled into hotel in Silom close to the scene. …

Just arrived in Pattaya and found out that Saturday bars will be closed because of this (or not alcohol sales at least)...and an email from BBB inn says this: Visakha Bucha Day this year is celebrated on Saturday, 18. May 2019. An additional Visakha Bucha Holiday will be on Monday, 20. May 2019. So it will be a long weekend. Buddha was born in India some 2,500 years ago as a rich prince. But he left that life of luxury to seek out wisdom from the wise hermits who lived in woodlands scattered throughout the region at the time. He felt disappointed, however, and instead meditated under a Bodhi tree. There, he is beli…

72 hours and I should be settled into my hotel and having my first wander of the year through Patts. I can’t say the bar scene has ever really been a favourite for me and much prefer the massage scene, preferably full service. I must admit that on my last trip I was somewhat disappointed in that regular haunts had disappeared and others either the quality was significantly lower or I just had a really bad run with bad masseurs. Ones I tried last time were Fah massage twice... first fairly good, second really crap. The place around the corner from Fah, very mediocre. Scandic, bloody awful and will never go back. Does anyone have any recent positive experiences with any? Ha…

If this news article from the Phuket paper is correct then many of us will have to pack our bags and leave Thailand. https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1100302-health-insurance-mandatory-for-long-stay-foreigners-in-thailand/page/37/?tab=comments#comment-14137759

From a friend in HCMC who works as a MB on the apps (with frequent trips to Hongkong, SG, Malaysia etc) I got a rather difficult Q yesterday. The guy announced that he will make a trip to Sydney next month and upon my question confirmed that he will try to make some money as MB there (freelance/on the apps). Most likely he will be there for a couple of weeks (based on his earlier travel patterns). He question to me was - how much to charge for "services" in Sydney? (I believe he meant short time - either in his hotel room or outcall). As I have absolutely no experience with MB rates in Australia I need to pass on the Q in there: anyone able to shed some lights on thi…

Hello All First time poster, but have been reading lots of posts. Apologies if this is answered elsewhere. I'm very much looking forward to arriving in Bangkok at the end of the month and hopefully some warm weather. Its bl**dy cold here on a Bank Holiday in London. Do any of the bars allow you to settle the bar tab/off fee by debit/credit card? I hate carrying large sums of money. Back here in UK I barely use cash. Of course I fully expect to pay any boy cash

So I'm in Pattaya and all is fine. Much better than Phuket. My first night I made it to dreamboys and saw the show. Seems they took acts from other bars to build their presentation and with some practice, the show will become good. Made it to nice boys. Good selection of guys. I think most are the guy next door type. Fun night in the bar. Xboys was different. A few guys I could see myself offing but I don't see the need to pay the 300 for a staff drink, tip to guy and waiter and pay the bar an off if it goes that far. If I want a hot guy without all the bar baggage and costs I go to the apps. The show there was nothing special but then there was t…

This is my 5th trip to Thailand and my first trip with my husband and child. All my previous trips were solo. I will try to focus on the more interesting gay parts of my trip, a fact that will probably make this trip report shorter than previous ones, considering the specific nature of this trip. A brief intro, 35 yo Israeli married + 1. Last trip was 16 months ago; I came for White Party 2018. At that time I knew it would take me some time to come again alone to Thailand and I set my mind on returning for Songkran 2019. As time passed by, I started realizing that I will not be able to pull those dates off so I set my mind on the week after which was also Jewish …

Hi! There are 2 new Gogo Bars in Patpong 1 (night market street), half way between Surawong and Silom road, on the right side if you look towards Silom road. Both on the twink side of the range. Superboys: Upstairs, 4 guys, 3 guests Sweet Banana: 6 guys, 3 guests. Stage not suitable for any type of show. Both need to try harder to survive, I think. Also new?: Chillout Boys, host bar?

I know this topic have been discuss before, and i know all the precautions, good and bad of making this decision. However my query is mostly on the finance part. Ultimately it will be discuss with the said boy, but i dont want to make unreasonable proposal too. I will be travelling to another country, not thailand, with a friend, and there is a high chance that he will have to cut the trip short, thus leaving me alone in the country for at least 4 days alone but also gives me a good opportunity to invite one of the boy to be with me in the country. Ive checked thaivisa and thai nationals doesnt need to apply visa, and i know that the boy have travelled outside before…

From Khaosod English (30 Apr.) BANGKOK — The government said Tuesday it has petitioned the United Nations to recognise Thai massage as part of its intangible heritage. Speaking to reporters today, Culture Minister Veera Rojpojanara said UNESCO will convene to make its decision in November. If accepted, Thai massage – or nuad thai – will be Thailand’s second entry in UNESCO’s intangible world heritage list. Last year, the agency granted a similar status to Thai traditional masked dance. “We have already submitted it,” Veera said. “Right now it is under consideration.” He said he has high hopes that UNESCO will recognize Thai massage as an important part…

Hi Guys , I have been to Babylon in Bangkok 2 times and Club One Seven in Chiang Mai 1 time . Probably I was very unlucky to understand what is ongoing in the dark rooms . In all my 3 visits I saw very few people in the dark rooms and majority of the area was so dark to understand what is ongoing if there is any action . Few guys walking around like me and few guys standing on the corridors ( because of the dark very difficult to understand expression on their faces ) ...That was all I have seen . In Babylon I met a Pinoy guy on the poolside and after some chat we had a very good time and we became good friends since then . Athough both of us are tops we are ha…

Im friends with a Thai guide I met when I first visited Thailand. He asked my opinion of Thailand's gay scene. I told him it seems the gogo end of it seems to be shrinking. He told me there are many more job options for guys now and it's hard to find guys to work the bars. Now if they want quick money they can use the apps to meet paying guys. I told him about Phuket and he talked about Bangkok and he thinks that gay gogo bars in Thailand will be close to gone.

From Bloomberg News (24 Apr.) Baht Falls to Lowest Level Since January (Bloomberg) -- Asia’s best-performing currency in the first quarter is starting to lose its momentum amid Thailand’s political gridlock, a stronger dollar and speculation of dividend-related fund outflows. The baht weakened to as low as 32.049 per dollar, the weakest level since Jan. 9, and falling through the psychological support of 32. It was down 0.2 percent at 32.020 as of 12:22 p.m. in Bangkok, after falling through the 100-day moving average for the first time since mid-December earlier this week. Sentiment for the Thai currency has deteriorated as concerns about politica…

I arrived last Friday evening from Australia via Malaysia airlines, 7pm. I was dreading the airport and freeway congestion but all good. Through immigration, collected my luggage and into my pre booked car within 30 minutes. A record. Then the roads were empty. Into the Crowne plaza in Silom 35 mins later and into my room by 8:15. WTF ! So some time for a quick walk around to survey the new venues post the demise of Soi T. I’ve previously posted my love of Soi T and especially Maxis. But the Soi was more than that, it’s was self contained. Bars, gogo shows, massage and boys. Nothing better than my evening ritual of sitting a Maxis each evening watching the coming a…

Anyone know what happened to this place. I used to really enjoy it because it was so update, clean and comfortable. Massages were at least OK and the sex part was very good. They now, apparently, offer only regular and foot massage.

From a long time capitan at Dreamboys: "Soi Twilight will close soon. Maybe in April next year or the end of next year. Chang Corporation and Montien Hotel together take over the soi. They are making a community complex." No idea what kind of "community complex" would be appropriate for that soi.

Since I have benefitted so much from lurking and hoovering up the information on this site, I should share my experiences here too. This is from last week, a quick stop-over in Bangkok. Dream Boys Paradiso - newly open. Had about 6-7 escorts generally over 30 and somewhat muscular (not buffed). They were in jeans. Unfortunately, I had to sit through about an hour of the drag queen show (10pm?) before I saw them in a line-up. Drinks: 350 baht. There were about 4-5 other customers. Screw Boys - Over 20 boys, mostly slim/lean, in shorts. Didn't appear to be any show. There were just 2 other customers at 10pm. Drinks 300 baht. Fresh Boys (near Screw Boys & …

We all have stuff we don't want family to see. For example sex toys. Or sex tourist magazines (like the Men of Thailand magazine) which if they see it will finally make them understand why you go so often to Thailand. The problem is that if I die in a plane crash on my way to Thailand - or in Thailand itself - my family will of course be informed and in due time visit my apartment and clean it out. They can then see my sex toys and the sex tourism magazines. I rather don't want them to see it, because it feels a bit embarassing. What I do is this: all embarassing stuff I put - before I leave for the airport - in a recycle bin at the bottom with above it normal …

From The Nation (19 Apr.) Thailand’s summer will continue to be hotter than the same period last year “It will be about one or two degrees Celsius hotter,” the department’s director-general Phuwieng Prakhammintara said onFriday. The mercury is expected to soar past 42 degrees Celsius in seven provinces, namely Mae Hong Son, Lampang, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Tak, Nakhon Sawan and Kanchanaburi. On Thursday, Lampang’s Thoen district was the hottest place in the country, with the mercury hitting to 44.2 degrees Celsius. This was the highest temperature in the history of the northern province, which previously had recorded a top reading…
