  1. Biden himself should have accepted early on that he was going to be a one term president. So I fault him first. I understand the reality of the situation, I'm just saying I can't support it.

The poor American people. Or are they getting what they deserve? I think I know the answer.

  2. "Central Escalator (HK island) - remembering reading so much about this sauna before heading to HK the first time. It was supposed to be the place where the young rice queens of HK would hang out. However, got pretty disappointed when I visited. It's quite small and it was almost all elder guys, both Westerns and locals. "

Rice queens are not young Asians. The older ones wanting Asians are. So to speak.

  3. LA Times columnist Johan Goldberg sums up his column:

In short, we are on track to have a presidential contest between a whiny, disgraced, septuagenarian, characterologically unfit former president and an octogenarian incumbent who a majority of Americans believe is not mentally sharp enough for the job. Each has an incentive to run against the other because their best shot at winning is having the other as an opponent.

As someone who thinks it would be truly dangerous to put Trump back in power, I think it’s truly irresponsible to run Biden against him. There’s still time to avert a no-win scenario, but that would require party leaders to lead.

If these two old men end up being the nominees, the party hacks will insist it’s a “binary choice,” as if that excuses their role in putting us in such a calamitous predicament in the first place. It’s not supposed to be like this.

  4. Right now I cannot support a Biden/Harris ticket in 2024. Sure, Trump is not a good candidate either. So I wonder how our country has ended up with two old men running for President. Biden is too old and will be even older if elected. Harris did not make a good administrator in her San Francisco and Sacramento posts. She babbles and is already a failed contestant for President.

Electing Biden is ultimately electing her President The Democrats have to know this, so why have we no real alternative? It's shameful.

I decided to get a Tourist visa, but was half regretting it afterward. My passport is good to next year, and I am requesting a new one tomorrow. This will probably render my online visa useless because it has been linked to my current passport. Maybe immigration will accept my new passport if I can show/bring my old passport and give me the visa on arrival.

But the point is that it really doesn't matter that much because I arrive in 2.5 weeks. The difference is 15 days, and that makes it very acceptable in my case. So yeah, I hope they keep the scheme alive.

In Brazil, bringing the visa on the old passport worked just fine for me. Not sure about Thailand.

  6. I appreciate the different opinions here. It's clear that I am in the minority. But, practically speaking, no one would expect that Trump would get anything more than a fine if convicted. It is a nonviolent offense and he has no record of convictions. Filing a civil suit over the same allegations would also result in a fine, maybe even greater than in criminal court, so I just don't get adding the excitement of criminal court just to excite his base.

I won't cry if he is indicted, just to be clear.
