Off-fee structure at BBB in Pattaya

Recommended Posts

One would have thought that with the sponsor from generous farangs like Michael & Firecat, the boys would be able to step out of their debts & starts saving up for the future. It seems that basic expenditure e.g. paying for rent is enough to drag them back into financial problems again.

From my observations, I have come to the conclusion that not lack of money is the problem, but poor planning.

vinapu:

and this brings entirely new subject. Most of us probably don't realize how many boys are intimidated by the big city and don't know their way around.

Once Arena boy / around the corner from Chong Nonsi BTS /  told me he never took a BTS because he doesn't know how to go about it.

When I first came to Bangkok, I didn't know how to use MRT/BTS/ARL/bus/boat. And I didn't speak the language. What I did was READ and ASK others.

I think we often forget how much these boys are still growing and learning and although we (or at least I) have learned many lessons over the years and try to teach those that are younger, it all too often falls on deaf ears.

I think part of the problem with the boys and their poor money management is the fact that they have no adults there to advise them - Dad and the rest of the family are all back home so the boys only have each other to rely on for advice. Not an ideal situation.

and since most of them are coming from poor families with not much money at disposal to speak of at home they did not have a chance to learn it.

Now they are coming to big city, getting 1000 baht tip and for second or two they feel affluent, hence those taxi trips, telephones and motorbikes on payment plans.

At end of day I don't blame them, after all youth is wasted on young.

We pretend to be smarter but how many farangs sunk tons of money chasing love which never materialized and replacing countless dead buffalo in the process

Nor do I blame them.

Many years ago, I had a relationship with a guy in West Africa whose living conditions were far worse than those of my boyfriend when I first met him. He was just the same in this respect as the Thai guys.

One of the issues that always haunts these relationships is that for someone from a very poor background, the fact that we are there in their country means that we are richer beyond their wildest dreams. They are often incapable of making a distinction between the "wealth" that we typical falangs have and the extravagant riches of a millionaire.

It took me years to persuade P. that, though I can afford to make a big difference to his life, back home I have to spend my pension with care. And worse; I drive a second hand Ford Focus.

Of course, we're not that different. How do we judge with any degree of accuracy the difference between a wealthy banker who owns an expensive London home and drives a Ferrari and that of a Premiership footballer who owns a country estate as well- and a fleet of Ferraris? For me, the first is rich beyond my dreams....just as the second is too.

My experiences suggest that Thais are much more reluctant to ask questions about something.

Where I would not hesitate to ask.

In Thailand it is all about 'face'

It is very rare for a Thai to say "i don't know" which is particularly annoying when it is my partner giving me directions while I am driving.

Just tell him how much bus ticket costs at home and when he compares you 100 baht to his 6.50  it will do the trick , at least did it for me on few occasions when we had such discussion.

That wouldn't work for me Vinapu, over 65's get free travel on all local buses the length and breadth of England.

yes and no, this is what I said :

"ust tell him how much bus ticket costs at home and when he compares your 100 baht to his 6.50  it will do the trick",

Even if you don't pay  find out how much ticket is and use  that as your secret weapon

Back to the topic (otherwise, this becomes an old folks' home)..

All I ask is that we should  continue our generosity towards the boys.

If we can afford to give a little more, why not!

You see their livelihood depends on our kind contribution.

Back to Economics 101..if there is no demand, the supply will evaporate slowly but surely.

I am very sure that most farangs would like to see/have more young lads in these bars.

With increased supply, there will be more offs and the world will be a better place..

no military coup (like Turkey) and no killings (like Nice).

Song dedication for all of us, the anthem for World Peace.

A song from the early 70s... "Imagine" by John Lennon

This is a special UNICEF version

I can almost feel the love building....

We will all be there, linking arms down BoyzTown, clutching our lighted candles and murmuring the refrain of 'Kumbaya' as the BoyzBoyzBoyz do their nightly parade. LOL

Big boy...have you recently tried to travel on a bus in England? I am well over 65 and I tried once..never again...I would rather use my car ....thank you.

I am lucky to have great bus service where I live and we can also use the national concessionary travel pass on local trains and trams too. I have only driven about 2000 miles in the last year.

Remember the responses when I said it should be easy for a good looking twink to earn 6000 baht a WEEK?

It was met with scepticism.

I am now reading a Reuters article were a female sex worker said she earned 5000 a NIGHT.

One former sex worker from the northeastern province of Maha Sarakham, who declined to be identified, told Reuters she entered Bangkok's sex trade at the age of 19 and earned up to 5,000 baht ($143.14) a night, nearly 20 times the minimum wage of 300 baht ($8.59) per day.

Yes, maybe more easy for a female since hetero sex tourism is larger in numbers, but then I think my 6000 a WEEK for a very hot twink using hornet/gayromeo is not that unrealistic as it was presented here. Maybe they really do earn that, but dont want you to know? Because by saying "I no money" they can work on your pity and hope to get monthly allowances or higher tips.

Hmm.. sounds too good ..

It makes me wonder

Why didn't I join the trade (when I was younger)?

Why did I need to slog so hard for those paper (qualifications)?

Why can't I make money in my sleep?

Where is my sugar daddy/sugar big brother?

Your argument is no better because of some ridiculous article in a publication that has little real knowledge of the country.  Also again you show your lack of knowledge by comparing male workers with female workers.  In BKK there is an entire street dedicated to Japanese men only who pay exorbitant  fees for the best looking women  .  I have walked down that street with very hot straight friends that could not even get a smile from the girls because he was not Japanese.

And then there were times when Japans economy was in the dumps and girls were happy to smile because they had no money.

Anyone who thinks a boy can earn 6000 baht a week 52 weeks a year in Pattaya has his head up his ASS.  Try walking in the Bars mid April- November and see how many boys are there at midnight hoping for a 20 baht tip so they might get some street food when done work. And that doesn't count the hundreds or thousands of boys on Romeo and other Apps.

Are their exceptions during high season for 5% of the boys ? Of Course. Are their exceptions in BKK for certain types, again of course.  But in general the ability to make that kind of money is absent for the overwhelming majority of boys in the sex trade.

It makes some people feel better to think boys are doing great rather then admit to themselves they visit for 1 reason and that is for cheap sex that they could not have in their home countries. And certainly I am guilty of that but I don't try t make myself feel better by inventing a fantasy of how wonderful the boys are doing.

it's why soi Thaniya , that street,  is best way to  cross from Silom to Surawong undisturbed by both girls and touts. And jeweler there has one of the best exchange rates  as a bonus sometimes open well into a night.

"some ridiculous article in a publication that has little real knowledge of the country. "

Firecat, the author of the article appears to be Thai. How can you be so sure that he doesn't know his own country?

As for the guys earning 6000 baht per week, I can only speak from personal experience. There wouldn't be many making that kind of money, and even fewer bringing in that amount for every week of the year.

However, the guy who I spent many holidays with in Pattaya was certainly earning more than 6000 baht per week. I mentioned in a post on another gay forum how he spent 19,000 baht per month on living expenses. On top of that he sent money home every month and was also able to save money every month.

When I was in town he was earning much more than 6000 baht per week. I spent 9-10 weeks a year with him. If you average out how much he received from me in total over the year, it would work out at more than 3000 baht per week over 52 weeks.

When I wasn't in town he was offed 4-5 times a week, sometimes for long time. Also, he had 4 farang who were sending him money every month ( one American guy was sending him 15,000 baht per month), plus regular customers like myself who would spend their holiday with him.

Many farang visit Thailand multiple times during the year and have their favourite guy each visit. And if that guy is especially hot, chances are he'll have lots of regulars at various times during the year, plus a monthly gift of money from farang if he is lucky.

I'm also reminded of a number of boys working in Soi Twilight who were offed every single night I went to the bar. One guy in particular was a very small guy with an absolutely enormous cock and he was always pre-booked. He would often be offed more than once every night.

So these guys do exist. They are the bar stars. They may not make 6000 baht every week of the year, but it would average our at that amount over an entire year.

I had a friend who owned a very nice gay male escort agency in NYC. Rates for guys were 300 USD per hour 15 years ago.  I also had female friends who worked for the female agencies and they made up to 5,000 USD per hour.  Yes, there is a big discrepancy.

Even in NYC there were superstars who always made money.  One guy had a paid trip to Dubai for 6 months making over 2k per day for one hour of work.  Again, that was not the norm. The norm was most had a few calls a week and were able to live a decent life and go to school or pursue acting or modeling.

I am in agreement with Firecat on his arguments. He doesn't always say things in the nicest of ways. But, he is right in the discussion in this thread.  At least from what I have witnessed with moneyboys in Thailand, USA, Brazil, Spain, Cuba, The Netherlands, Prague, and Canada.

A447a.  You just make my point for me. There are a very few that make that kind of money and for a very short time.  They are the Tiny Minority. Some have farangs that send them money every month. Again it is the minority and the continuation of that stipend usually stops.  The lucky few get someone who takes care of them forever or at least many years. Even a tinier percentage.

Take a look on Romeo how many boys there are 18-24 in Pattaya. and hoping to survive. Not to the mention the boys on Hornet, Jack'd Grindr etc that are not on Romeo. In pattaya the many boys in the massage shops who are lucky to get 2 customers a week.

I recognize that you have lots of experience in Thailand , but some of the comments on how much the boys make and what they own etc come from posters who have no idea what they are talking about. They have never been in a boy's room when he lives with 2 or 3 boys and if lucky they have a fan to make it less miserable. They have limited experience but pretend to understand the lives of the boys .  They do not!
