Sorry for the question as I'm sure it's either been discussed or people just know, but I'm planning a trip to BKK and possibly Pattaya in Feb or Mar. Never been before and from the stories I've read here, it sounds like I need to get there ASAP. Anyway, I've been spending a little time on Romeo to get a lay of the land. It seems like many on here talk about offs and paying boys for short time and long time. Just curious from your experience which you prefer and why. I'm a regular 40 year old white guy, I'd say relatively decent looking and normally wouldn't consider paying, but if paying is the best way to go, I'm not opposed to it. Thanks in advance…

According to the post in CFS forum today Dec 28-2013 , Aqua Spa is closed forever. May be somebody in BKK now can confirm ? I'm not that surprised as it was pretty deserted when visited them in November but I have lots of good memories from earlier years.

Just took a look at currency conversion and see that a US dollar is now getting 32.6 baht. Wonder if all the activity in Bangkok is weakening things a bit? Can't believe it is due much to the US economy which seems to be rather stagnant, outside of some market gains.

It looks like City Boys has been closed. No announcement on the door, but was closed the past couple times I passed by, prior to Kings Day. I will try to check again tonight....

Does anyone have links to videos of some of the popular Thai music? It seems there are 5-10 Thai songs that get a lot of play at the late night clubs and some of the other venues. I recognize them when they are played, and even can (badly) sing along during parts, but I would really like to have a way to listen to them while at home. Bonus if they have Romanized lyrics...and double bonus if they also have English translations. I attended the Take Care benefit yesterday at Coco's. The place was full and dinner was a well prepared and tasty turkey dinner. There was also a fish option. The entertainment was a Thai female singer and four slim dancers from Venue in Jomtien. She sang old Christmas songs including the full version of the twelve nights of Christmas. She also sang Its raining Men, YMCA etc. I think many of the attendees actually enjoyed the singing but it was pure torture for this bah humbug farang. Well, that is my opinion. Things in Bangkok are getting totally out of hand as far as what these stippers, money boys or whatever you want to call them, want as fees for the sex they provide. Well, my turn to provide a report about a visit. Hopefully it we'll help others pass the time until arrival at LOS. Arrived without incident to BKK, on time and in good shape. Business class is a real advantage to not feeling like crap upon arrival from the USA. 22 hours in a plane can be brutal otherwise. Quick exit from the plane plus fast track pass for immigration. No checked bag. 20 minutes from walking off the plane and I am in the car, headed for Patts. Awesome way to start. As usual, availed myself of service from Mr. Toom taxi. Driver waiting for me at door 3. 1200 baht for sedan from BKK to Pattaya. Car in good shape...Volvo this time instead…

Why wasn't there any reports that Albury is now closed. I went looking for the place last night, couldn't find it and i walked until i reached K Ville. Back tracked and finally caught my eyes on the abandoned building. Then i went to Uniman for the first time ( as recommended by Vinapu), the mamasan told me that it is indeed closed, then my massuer told me that Albury is closed because 'no customer'. It is a shame because i heard so many nice things about the place.

Driving from Hua Hin to Bangkok today, there were literally 300 or more vans of people being bused in for Monday's demonstrations. Several were gathered together at one rest stop and the BF and our driver chatted with them. They all came from down south and are avid yellow shirt supporters. It was interesting to see the vans at midnight covering the road. I hope this does not turn into the mess it looks like.

This week a friend and I visited Klong Suan Market which is said to be over 100 years in operation. It is located about 20 miles out of Bangkok and requires a vehicle to get there. We went during the week and things were very quiet with many stalls not operating at full steam or at all but it was a good adventure anyway. The weekends are said to be very busy and things go very strong on Saturday and Sunday. One weekend I would like to return to see it in full swing.
