I have been trying to access the Sawatdee Gay Thailand web site all day but get the message "The requested URL /forum/gay-thailand/ was not found on this server" Is anyone else having the same problem or is it only me?

I've lived in Thailand for several years now and am still mystified and confused about bargaining here. I know in Mexico it is not only expected but often considered rude not to haggle over prices - I've been told the sales process is part of the fun of sellling. It that true here? Do Thais expect and enjoy bargaining or do they see that as evidence of the customer being a chisler? More confusing is the technique my Thai boyfriend uses. He will find something he likes, agree to the price, and then after it is written up, ask the sales clerk if he/she can reduce the cost. About 80% of the time, they do. Hello everyone. It has been many years since I traveled to Thailand, but I have been there 12 times. In the 80's and 90's I just loved it there, and found the guys and all of the people to be so nice. I love Thai Smiles. Now, I am planning to return for a two week visit. I am wondering what you guys would recommend for this visit. Bangkok for sure, but to choose between Pattaya and Chaing Mai is difficult. I used to love both. I have seen all of the tourist sights as of ten years ago, so is there anything new? Being a little older now, I cannot stay as cheaply as I did when I was younger. I am curious. Lately I've noticed that caberet shows are becoming more and more popular. More surprising is that the performers seem largely (pun intended) older farang. Do most of you like these kinds of entertainment? Frankly, I've never met anyone who does, but then my friendship circle doesn't include everyone. What is the appeal of watching an aging farang flouncing about on stage and lip syncing show tunes? It's getting more and more difficult to find a show bar that does not feature such acts. Surely we didn't come to Pattaya for this - or did most of you?

A friend and I went to Soi 4 in Bangkok to have dinner. It was our intent to have dinner at Telephone Bar. Just before we got there on the same side we saw a new Greek restaurant named Souvlaki Greek Grill. We looked at the extensive menu and with some encouragement from a waiter we decided to give it a try. Despite the efforts of the police to reduce road deaths over the New Year weekend, the death toll is reported to be 37% higher than it was last year. It was widely reported that the police would be out there enforcing traffic rules, setting up road checks for drunk drivers, cracking down hard on helmetless motorcyclists, etc. In Pattaya where was it? Since the Northwest flight was almost attacked a few days ago, I have many friends who have traveled and they said they airlines had really tightened up things. A good friend said that he was limited in his carry on luggage in First Class domestically. He had never had this issue before. Has anyone else been traveling noticed anything?
