Looking to book another ticket for my return after the New Year and found some flights. However, all the ones I found are now only economy or business. No Premium at all. The website still says that the economy tickets may be upgraded to Premium if there are no economy seats available but I think that is just an error on the part of Thai Air that they forgot to remove. Now, the prices for the tickets were slightly over 800 for economy. I thought that was great so I went to book. The taxes were almost 700 US. Still that is not a bad price for a flight to Thailand but when the taxes get to the point of the almost the same as the flight itself I do have to wonder w…

It appears as though the Thai Air nonstop from LAX to BKK is back again. I just received confimation that I am back on the nonstop flight in mid November. From their schedule it looks like it will be flying five days a week (no Mon or Wed flights). I sure hope they keep it on the schedule this time!!!

They've really gone and done it! I had hoped it wouldn't come to this and that this dispute could be resolved amicably at the bargaining table, but now that the shooting has begun, of course, no one knows yet what will be next or where this will lead. I see no word in any of the media as to who shot first or what instigated it, but both sides are blaming each other. I also see nothing as to whether borders have been sealed and/or flights between Thailand and Cambodia have been canceled, but Thailand has issued warnings to Thai nationals in Cambodia to return to Thailand. I am making plans to visit Thailand sometime after the first of the year (maybe not until the summer of 2009). It is going to be a few months before I have the funds to travel. I have no friends who are interested in going and looking to see if anybody here would be interested to travel with me. Each of us will be responsible for our own expenses. We will have separate accommodations (rooms). I don't want to be a baby sitter, but I think it would be more fun to have a friend to travel with.
