Wanted to share my experience. I was stressed about the visa photo and ended up taking about 20 selfies around my house to play with the lighting before using the photo assist tool on their website. Also, damn, do I feel like I look older then I am in my photos 🥲. I couldn’t upload the photo from my phone because the website isn’t very mobile-friendly, especially on the section that requires you to select checkboxes for uploaded photos. So, I had to finish everything on my computer. I was also confused about the “business” section since I’m traveling for leisure. I ended up filling it out with my employer’s details and noted that it’s a vacation. They responded within a day, rejecting my passport photo and asking for a clearer version. I uploaded a new one yesterday morning, and by the time I woke up today, I had an approval letter waiting in my inbox. My trip is in 20 days. I definitely wouldn’t recommend waiting until the last minute like I did, but I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly they processed it. USE THE PHOTO EDITING GUIDE!

You think so? If I as a gay man had to have sex with a woman for money - and assuming I had the choice - I think I'd rather do it with a slender, petite and beautiful woman. It would make the job "easier". This would be under the assumption that all other factors would remain equal viz money, time and level of participation.

Another week with muita praia. I am appalled at the lack of hotties, but now and then one shows up. I went to a new neighborhood in the more central area, Jaqueira. It was my last attempt to hook up from the apps. When I got to my destination and the guy came down to welcome me, he did not look at all like in his photos, so I ran away. However, I took advantage of the trip and enjoyed a long walk in the area. I liked it a lot, it seems to be an upper middle class zone with a strong modern urban feeling. Well kept streets, nice buildings, plenty of high quality stores, eateries, and hospitals. I accidentally ended at the park that names the entire hood, Parque da Jaqueira. It is exactly the kind of park I had been unsuccessfully looking for. Well kept, clean, and with lots of trees. I loved those trees, they remind me of Parque Mitre from Corrientes, the Argentine city where I spent most of my teen years. The park has an entire area exclusive for exercising. I had never seen a sign like that, setting an exclusive area. As exercising goes against my religion, I respectfully walked toward other corners.  This was towards the end of my walk, and I sat to take a break and listen to the birds and some music. When I was still in DC, in Takoma Park, I developed the habit of listening to and observing birds. If you also like doing it, I recommend you an app: Merlin Bird. Perhaps I had already shared this in some of my previous posts? I am not sure. It is an app developed by Cornell University, completely free. You can identify the birds by recording their singing or taking a picture.  I like the most setting the app for recording, because as it lists on screen the different bird species, its highlights the ones singing at each moment, helping you to learn to identify yourself the birds without the app support. I had not used it since my visit to the Jardim Botânico, where I did not find any new species for my personal library. At Parque da Jaqueira I added three new ones. Silly, but these little things make me happy. I also noticed a group of teens, very young, probably 14 y.o., a mix of boys and girls, about 8 of them. Two of the boys were walking holding hands. I wondered if physical affection between boys was common in Brazilian culture, or in Recife's, or they were an early couple of namorados. After I rested, I went for a meal to the best bakery (padaria) in the area, the Padaria Jaqueira. Not as good as the one I found near my base, but with a bigger buffet offering. A couple of the employees were obviously gay.  When I returned home I felt compelled to research whether or not Jaqueira was a gay area. I had a date (although unsuccessful), I saw the two boys in the park, and the employees in the bakery nearby. However, it looks like everything was a coincidence, my research online does not identify Jaqueira as a specially gay zone. Yesterday, Halloween, was my birthday, and to celebrate it I decided to return to the saunas. I started by Recife Spa. The facilities are nice and roomy. You walk in into a small patio with a bar counter. Then you have a sitting area with arm chairs and a big screen TV, and another side of the asme bar. There you will also find the desk where you check in and out. From there you can move to the lockers area and the dance floor with a stage. It was karaoke night. The saunas are behind the stage, and the rooms upstairs. I did not explore them. I had a generous caipiroska, chatted a little bit with a GP who was not my type, and after verifying that we were less than 20 attendants and none of them inspire me to anything, I left. The bartender and the GP recommended me to try again on Sunday, it seems to be their most popular day. I may follow their advice. The entry and the drink costed 49R.  From there I headed to Sauna Boa Vista. It is a 10 minutes walk. I confirmed my impression about this neighborhood, it is very safe to walk around even at night, with many restaurants and bars, some of them taking entire streets with their tables. SBV was not in one of its best nights, but I had a great time. I hooked up with a GP that delivered a premium experience, the best sex I had since I left Salvador. His fee was 100, but I gladly paid 150. He was really, really good, that kind of interaction that does not seem transactional. I think I will be back to the sauna tonight, and will fuck him again. For those interested in prices, I got you some: I rented my third presidential suite, and it was just as good as the other two. Apparently all of them are located at the second floor, and all the master suites at the first one. I am curious to see what the difference is. I noticed that in the first floor area where the master ones are located, there is also a section with showers. Perhaps the difference is that the presidencial s have all double showers and the master s do not. I am guessing. After having my GP I stayed hanging in the cruising labyrinth area. Definitely, a lot of the action, pay and not pay, happens in the free cabins. I was tempted to pull out my phone to record the noises, but discretion prevailed.  If you are curious about visiting Recife and you do not care about the beaches, I think I would recommend you to look for an airbnb or hotel in Jaqueira. Beautiful, upscale neighborhood very close to Boa Vista (the gayest area where the two saunas mentioned in this post are located besides other venues) and also to the Old Town.
