Summary Definitely and by far sightseeing’s high point was Sukhotai and Kampheang Phet. Fact that my friend K decided to go with me doubled that travel fun. Angkor and environs were second, because all those places I already visited in the past but Cambodian ruins have such pull on me that I can visit there to no end. I’m glad I went to Phuket, finally I know how it is there and may return in future if only to explore gay scene bit more energetically than I did this time. I beat my cousin to James Bond Island , that counts for plenty as well. As for boys I did not get anybody I regretted to engage. With few some improvement could be used but there were no antics like leaving suddenly out of blue (ok there was one case but I let it go for reason explained ) . Day 24 There was bond and dynamics and as result it was only 11 am when we went for a breakfast to Beer Garden in mouths of Walking Street he suggested,. Nice place with the breeze and a view of the bay. Day 27 last In the morning we released some steam before going for breakfast and then parted ways. Today is my last day so I went to buy couple packs of my favorite Khao Son 3-in-1 coffee to take home to last me till next trip . Otherwise decided to take it easy before long trek home . Whatever reason was it fit my schedule so to speak as I was planning to leave at 4 am anyways so told him ST is ok tonight and at 9.pm was in Moonlight already. It was quite empty , soon Y joined me and explained reason for rejecting LT. Has girlfriend now and she want his to be home at decent hour knowing he works till 2 am. Explained him why it will work perfect to night and off we went straight to the room as none of us was hungry. It was fitting conclusion of such long , varied and successful trip and we had fun. After he left, at 3 am on the dot indeed – that girl must hold his balls tightly , I finished packing, made last tea and just before 4 left my room. There was taxi just passing by so I stopped her but it turned out it was ordered by two guys from other side of soi. This being Bangkok another one appeared right after. He wanted 500 to airport. Since I was in mood I agreed but was smart enough to tell him ‘ you pay the tolls”. Everything went smoothly in the airport and at Narita’s connection so all looked as happy homecoming but it was not. Before going to be I decided to eat something , opened my fridge and got hit with some unpleasant stench . At one point at my absence she decided to call her 19 years service done. So I had some cleaning to do but still marveled at quality of the seals. In about 1 hr I was in I did not sense anything, no wonder my cousin taking care about my flower did not notice anything either. Anyways it was not nice to be hit with need to buy new one following morning, Now, when I look at my fridge I smile as it reminds me such great trip and my longest so far to SE Asia.

Day 26 It was nice but for a price I’d say it could be better specially that in the morning AP announced that he needs to go. We went there on kayaks and yes , bats were there and stench was so intensive that few people almost threw out. Than another stop at some picturesque mid-sea rocks with another sea kayak round. On the way to James Bond Island we were served lunch and it was filling and tasty. Throughout the cruise some drinks were free and beer was available for purchase. Surprisingly perhaps majority of ship passengers were from Middle East with very strong Omani contingent and it was interested to see cultural differences as some of their ladies were covered had to toe plus face but there were few who were dressed I no more than dental floss sized bathing costumes. At 10 pm I went to ZAG welcomed by waiter of my adoration yesterday but today because it was much more crowded then yesterday he was much busier to keep me company. Not that I needed it as soon as I gulped my beer I went to Grinder and saw Z, hero of one of my pre-covid trip whom I met in Jomtien and took with me for few days to Bangkok. In covid time he disappeared from the scene and now , unmistakably it was him. Wasted no time to send him a message and basically whole evening and night I was checking if he responded to no avail. At 11 as yesterday we were invited inside where I tipped 100 baht one of their models. As soon as he left scene he came to me and wasted no time to exchange Line as well as extract few drinks from me. We were supposed to meet in my hotel lobby after club closes . This was my first trip to Thailand after leaving workforce for good and as result it was also longest of them all (so far I hope).Also first covering month of January, I was in that month before twice but only for ,few days in the beginning back in 2003 and at end last year. I keep travel diary on evert trip everywhere so no need to stretch my memory, cleaning glasses from time to time will suffice to produce this report. Reading it this morning I noticed that some occurrences faded from memory already which makes point again not to be upset about small things as they are soon forgotten for good. Winter trip has advantages of escaping cold but also carries risk that weather may go in the way. It was exactly a case this time. When we boarded plane snow blizzard started . It was sudden and energetic and as result we took off exactly 2 hours later than scheduled. Considering that at Narita I had originally exactly 2 hours connection time it was obvious that something will happen. Either, like last time I took that route plane to Bangkok will be waiting but luggage arrive day later or I need to be placed on another flight that evening or day after. Did not bother me as nothing I could do on my part. I did not enjoy flight much ( one of those things faded from memory I mentioned before but diary remembers). It was cold inside and this comes from guy who likes winter over summer. For first few hours entertainment system did not work which I don’t care but in modern aircrafts one can’t turn on reading light if screen is dead so I lost few hours of reading time. And to add to my misery , food was nothing memorable and that is charitable. But as always there was bonus – nobody seating beside me. I always fly at the back , middle section , aisle seat , hoping for that to happen and it did again. I noticed that elbow space is as important as legs one on those long flights. We landed as we departed , exactly 2 hours after scheduled time and were advised to see agents who will inform as about further connection. This being Japan , was organized very well. Indeed lady was holding placard with Bangkok and my flight number, told me where to go and there another agent gave me boarding pass for tomorrow morning , advised to pick up my luggage , pass immigration and go to the parking spot nr 16 where shuttle bus to hotel will be waiting. It was all in print on small piece of paper. Impressive enough. Japan I thought. Then somehow things get a bit less smooth as I was waiting exactly 2 hours for my luggage to emerge entertaining myself with Whatsapping, e-mailing and Lineing. After that we were back to Japan. Bus arrived and was filled to capacity with people sharing my misfortune, from what I heard not only Bangkok bound but also Bejjing and Saigon but somebody said Manilla passengers were lucky to be placed on next flight departing tonight. At the hotel they knew exactly why we are there, there was special counter arranged and we got our keys and coupon for supper tonight and breakfast tomorrow as well as information about bus to the airport departing in the morning. In short all my questions at Narita were answered before I even asked them. It was too late to go to the city 1hr train trip away so I settled in the room and did not even bother with evening meal. Just made my tea and went asleep. As for breakfast ‘opulent’ is understatement. All tasted soooo good and I feel sorry for myself that days I was eating more than I need are over. I was placed on Thai flight and again had luck of nobody seating beside – it’s after all still 7 hrs flight. I already commented in another thread, meal they served was probably best airplane meal I ever had and no, after that breakfast I was not starving or something , it was just extremely tasty, just pork with rice but made for kings and CEO’s . This way instead of landing at 22.30 , I arrived at 17.40 next day and day 1 of my trip started. still Christmas time in Japan Scat Airlines ? I wonder what this is all about

From Thai PBS World The Thai and US navies launched a joint operation today, to search for the remains of five crew missing from the sunken HTMS Sukhothai corvette, to salvage some weaponry and to disable some US-made military equipment. Day 21. Morning air and view was quite crisp. Being good friend I went to the lobby to say goodbyes to my friend whose car was already waiting then returned to my room to pack little I have since I won’t be returning there after the tour. Big Buddha is impressive site with beautiful view but was very crowded, Wat Chalom newish but very colorful and old town the same like Buddha Hill , colorful but crowded. I did not bother with neither tiger nor elephant concentration camps , I don’t like this type of entertainment even if I’m not animal lover I don’t support enslaving and drugging them for somebody’s entertainment. From commercial part I like some offerings at cashews farm- they sold cashews in several different flavors, I found truffle one particularly tasty but not exactly cheap. All in , I still enjoyed tour as it gave me some idea how Phuket looks like. Since I’m changing hotels I alighted in Patong’s center and walked to Paradise Complex where my hotel The Corner is located. Looked as newly built or renovated place intended to work as budget version of Royal Paradise Hotel , towels even bear that hotel signature. I can recommend place as location is perfect , on the , you guessed it, corner of soi where ZAG and new CRUISE gay clubs are located. Aquarious hotel and sauna and massage spas are all within 100 meters or less. Paradise Complex main soi, The Corner is where those green planters are Cruise club across the soi from my hotel, The Corner ZAH club Royal Paradise Hotel is truly landmark, picture taken from door of The Corner As budget place had some , how to say , simplifications?
