I've been struggling to recall the sleaziest scenes I've seen in Thailand. Here are a couple. 1) X boys in Soi Twlight bar; a young falang (a rarity in those parts!) dragged very willingly onto the podium, stripped naked and serviced by a group of performers. This was the bar which had a small cage in which three dancers in tattered denim shorts slowly and provocatively pushed them down until they were naked. To me, far more erotic than the falang performance But not as sleazy I must admit. 2) Happy Boys in Pattaya's Soi Yensabi. On the ground floor, go go performed on individual podia by guys in little skirts like the ones Athenian ephebes may have worn....very tasteful....but on the darkened second floor, no restrictions. I visited once with one of the guys and our discussions on Greek philosphy were interrupted by prolonged groaning and even of the application of, ahem, discipline.

It is undoubtedly true that the Gold Old Days were very much for us- that is European/American/Australian gay men. Usually in our fifties and beyond. The entertainment we enjoyed was geared to our tastes. However, this couldn't go on; slowly and inexorably we were dying out and younger gay compatriots weren't interested in our scene. I regret the passing of that time but without the new arrivals, there'd be no Pattaya , and probably not even the remnants of a gay scene which we survivors can still enjoy. Go to Terminus 21 and observe the sky-line. Where are you? not in the Old Pattaya with its girlie bars and ramshackle shops but in a modern Asian city with high rise hotels and condos. They are there for the tourists who have replaced us. Best to enjoy what's left of the old gay scene while it's still there. As I shall do in my quest to grow old as disgracefully as possible.

I managed to enter the new twilight bar last night. Place was massive but I was taken aback with fully clothed guys on stage. Not particularly handsome, no hunks in the place in my brief minute there. This might be the modeling type of place like moonlight and jupiter. Not the likes of the once shining twilight bars. That, or the guys would really have a hard time selling the wares fully clothed.

we can see with our own eyes when visiting and looking at all those closed doors and shuttered windows that answer is no. As much as crowds are annoying they keep businesses including our bars and massages humming

  6. From Bangkok Post Laos will drop Covid-19 entry restrictions for fully vaccinated tourists from Monday after the country reported falling coronavirus cases and deaths, senior officials said. From January travellers had been required to complete seven days of quarantine, present a negative Covid-19 test, and were limited to travelling within certain areas with officially sanctioned tour groups. The relaxed measures will see international checkpoints re-opened for Laotian citizens and foreigners, provided they are fully vaccinated. Unvaccinated visitors must produce a Rapid Antigen Test issued within 48 hours of leaving their origin country. Tourists will also have to pay for their own medical treatment should they become Covid-19 positive. Laos officials added that pubs and karaoke bars could reopen. =========================== From Laotian Times Citizens of countries that do not have a visa waiver agreement with Laos may now apply for a visa at a Lao embassy or consulate abroad or via the e-Visa online system. Visa on arrivals will also be reinstated at certain international checkpoints.

    Lesson learned

I agree with you. I’ve been at the client game almost all my adult life, and I’ve witnessed and heard about some terrible client behavior. I’m not suggesting that every “hooker has a heart of gold” — just that there are a lot of clients and wannabe clients that simply are up to no good and are not to be trusted. Guard your good reputation with the locals, and guard your connections. Well, you have shitty non-client photo collectors who waste the time of the procurer and the worker — some even going as far as to pretend they’re in Santo Domingo and having Manny or Juan Bin Bin (or Freddy, and probably even other procurers) showing up with the working guy to fake addresses — wasting expensive fuel and time (which the procurer then has to then pay the guy out of his own pocket for showing up to the fake date). Then, you have potential clients who demand that Manny exclusively drive them all over the city and island for a week and introduce them to guys, insisting on multiple photos and videos before committing to payment, but then refuse to pay for a reasonable day’s or week’s work of exclusive time from a driver and procurer. Then, you have a relatively new poster here accusing Manny of being a “scammer” for simply doing what any good procurer does for those who don’t have the time to scour the island for various available guys. Wouldn’t you bake in a bit extra to give yourself some insurance from an unknown entity, given all the flakes, the snakes, the shady, shifty characters? I haven’t needed a procurer’s services in years, but given the behavior that i have witnessed or heard about from some traveling clients, I completely understand the business move of reasonably increased rates.

I can't belive someone finally said something. I wanted to comment about this behavior a long time ago, but I try to keep my posts positive. This problem isn't exclusive to gay sites like I thought because as we all know some gay men are worse than catty women. A lot the STRAIGHT FB sites I'm on, the men carry on th3 same way. Meaning, they go back and find the person being discussed and screenshot what was said about them in the forum. There is a particular guy in this group who has NEVER MET me or my husband, but for the past 3 years has been HELL BENT on ruining our relations with many guys in Santo Domingo. I guess he feels that because he goes over and takes pictures of the guys and post full face, tattoos and body pics on his Twitter page and has a business making videos with these guys, in his mind, no one is allowed to do the same. This guy even reached out to manny and told him that my husband and I were bad people and was spreading his business all over the internet. What he didn't know is I told manny and a lot of the other guys about this and how they could make more money. I'm guessing the catalog book he put out a few years ago with all the Dominican men didn't sell like he thought be would because my post and Twitter growth seems to truly have this guy pressed. Seriously though, how does a person have so much disdain for ppl they have never met. This site is AMAZING and taught me so much before I took my first trip to Brazil. In fact, had it not been for this site I don't think I could have navigated through brazil as easily as I did. But, there are some shady people in this and every group I'm in, gay and straight. When I first started, I believed every person who reached out to me and told me they were going to rio or SDQ and wanted to know my contacts so I gave them the contacts without any hassles. After the 3rd time of me finding out the person on tbr other end of the keyboard was lying, I decided to keep my contacts private and not share another pic or number with anyone. If you want the guy, call manny is the attitude I adopted because there are flakes everywhere. You won't believe some of the stories and lies that have been told to me and about me. Some guy even told me he was with manny and even in SDQ. I called manny and he sent me a picture of the guy and told me he's a liar and not in SDQ. this has happened a few times. I have no idea why a person would get a phone number just to harass a model and ask for pics all day long because that would bore me to death but I guess we're all different. To all the people who post in good faith to help other travelers PLEASE CONTINUE to do so, but be careful who you trust on this and any other platform. I read a post about someone bashing manny a week ago here and didn't comment, but if you knew some of the things that guys from this site has done to him you would understand why he's not so trusting and requires a deposit now when ppl call or text him. @SlvkguyI feel the same as you. It Would have been nice to share the 84 dominican contacts i have in the Dominican honbres GALLERY of my phone, but now I direct everyone to manny. No more FREE-BEES! NO MORE GAMES! NO MORE LIES!

The nearest I've been to having anything checked was when checking in, the airline staff noticed that the dates of my arrival and departure flights were more than 30 days apart but I had no visa. I explained that I was planning to visit a neighbouring country (using a different airline) so I would be making two visits of less than 30 days. They took my word without proof and that was the end of the matter.

    Chiang Mai Boy Bars

Gay Chiang Mai has never, in my estimation, had the buzz of the old Soi Twilight or Boyztown. Even when Adam's Apple was drawing ahundred or so punters and there was standing-room only, the surrounding area was quiet. It was, after all, a residential centre. The other local bars mere three hundred meters away, were also isolated and situated in rather dark sois. When I was a single visitor, I liked the fact that CM offered an experience very different to those of Pattaya and Bangkok. The Night Market was bustling but even the group of small (and notorious) gay bars there were secluded.

I enjoy his channel.James live in Tak and as the video mentions he had to go to CM to get his passport renewed. I've seen a few other channels that are based in CM that also talk about how dead it is there. Songkran really looked quiet.

  18. It's been the aim of the country since much further back - around 2003 or so. That was the reason the Thaksin government started up the Thailand Elite scheme. For years it was virtually a disaster, but in recent years with the various major changes to the retirement visa and with some having to lock up virtually 800,000 baht in an account each year, it has become a great deal more popular.

There are a number of apartment hotels in Bangkok that will likely show up on the main booking sites. I always enjoyed that I got more space in a place like Siri Sathorn. Agoda and Booking.com have options for apartment/condo booking in their searches. Last time I was in Pattaya I stayed at a large corner condo in View Talay 6 that I booked on Agoda. There were several little agencies in that building renting out condos there. I had a corner unit overlooking the beach. The building is next to Central Festival mall. I expect the travel industry will be in a bit of upheaval for a while. I have noticed prices are really jumping now that people are starting to venture out again. Not Thailand, but I was just in NYC last weekend. The trip was booked long ago. The train cost me $49 each way and the hotel in Manhattan was $119/night. Looking at options to return and all of the prices have tripled in the meantime. I was looking at flights to visit family in Florida and they've doubled since my last trip.

Here's a video that is probably quite recent, showing what Chiang Mai looks like to tourists. Depressing. The Kampaeng Ngam Hotel looks nice though, and just 550 baht per night (without breakfast). From Google Maps, I see it's in a relatively quiet side street.

I have visited Funny Boys two times and it was great. Over 25 boys each time and some cuties if you like twinks. I visited Moonlight and it had 5 models and 5 gogos and they were OK but nothing special. I visited Jupiter and it was a bit dull. Hot Male was OK but not as many guys as Lucky and Dream Boys were OK but not many my type. I hope this helps! BTW: took a lad from Moonlight (I know as said nothing special but a waiter caught my eye).

    Lesson learned

This is a big reason why I don't post my trip reports any more. While a tiny minority, there are super creeps out there that make it not worth it and ruin the joy I've felt in the past. It became so bad that I've had to delete my Instagram in the past because of a stalking issue from this site. As a rule I never pass on any numbers of boys I feature in my trip reports. That is just asking for trouble. And your mileage may vary anyways... Any good fortune I've had may not translate to you, and vice versa.
